Chapter 1776: Chapter 497: A Couple’s Tacit Understanding

Qin Mu’s beautiful eyes gazed deeply into Mu Yichen’s dark eyes.

——

Qin Mu suddenly felt that Mr. Mu still had a bit of romance in him. Although she never said it out loud, in her heart, she was as excited as a girl experiencing her first love.

The old man had indeed drunk alcohol, even if just a little. Mu Yichen pretended not to notice, although the smell of white liquor was quite strong. As for Qin Mu, she candidly exposed the old man.

"You promised me you wouldn’t drink!"

Qin Mu kept nagging on the way back, making the old man sigh in annoyance and repeatedly assure her, "It was old Lu who drank too much; the smell got on me! I didn’t even touch a drop!"

Qin Mu felt a bit drained as she looked at him, truly not wanting to keep arguing with him.

After returning home and having barely sat for half an hour, the doctor arrived with his medical kit, and the old man went to his room to lie down.

Mu Yichen went to the office building, while Qin Mu stayed home to accompany the old man. Unable to resist, she picked up a drawing board and sketched a portrait of the old man.

The old man, with a needle in his hand, watched Qin Mu occasionally glance at him without speaking but instead listened curiously to the rustling sound of the pencil against the paper.

"Mumu, are you drawing me?"

"Uh-huh!"

Qin Mu merely took a glance while her hands kept moving nonstop.

Finally, Qin Mu looked at the wrinkles she’d drawn on the old man’s forehead, pondered for a moment, then picked up an eraser, made some adjustments, and stood up from the sofa, walking to the bedside, saying, "Here, for you!"

The old man took it joyfully but frowned immediately upon seeing the portrait: "Is this me?"

"Yes! Doesn’t it look like you?"

Qin Mu felt her sketching skills had improved lately.

"Why do I look so old?"

The old man questioned her with furrowed brows, not quite accepting the portrait she made.

Qin Mu tilted her head and took a careful look, her eyes seemed to say that she had erased many of his wrinkles.

"Well, should I make some adjustments for you?"

Qin Mu thought about not wanting to upset the old man, so she suggested it.

"Yes! Make me look more handsome. Everybody says Yichen looks a lot like me; are you sure this looks like me?"

The old man nodded very seriously, thinking this picture couldn’t be more than a score of thirty out of a hundred, utterly failing.

Qin Mu was bewildered by the old man’s question; doesn’t it look like him?

Qin Mu thought a bit, then pretended to be serious and made some modifications.

The result didn’t turn out looking like Mu Yichen but had some resemblance to Mu Zihao. The old man barely gave it a grade of fifty.

Later, Qin Mu was shooed out of the room because the drawing was too ugly.

Feng Fanghua returned from outside, and upon entering the living room, saw Qin Mu coming out with a drawing board in her arms. Curiously, she asked, "Busy lately? Working at home?"

"Oh! Not really! I drew a sketch for grandpa, but he wasn’t very satisfied!"

Qin Mu stood properly by the sofa, explaining to Feng Fanghua.

"Really? Let me take a look!" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Feng Fanghua took off her coat and laid it lightly nearby, then reached out for Qin Mu’s drawing board, and Qin Mu handed her the small board with the sketch.

"Yes! Your grandpa sure should be unsatisfied, aren’t you drawing your dad?"

Feng Fanghua commented responsibly after looking at it.

Qin Mu...

It was really embarrassing to say she initially drew grandpa, but grandpa disliked it for being too old-looking and asked her to draw something more like Mu Yichen. She couldn’t bring herself to do that, so she sketched a portrait of her father-in-law instead.

Actually, Qin Mu thought Mu Zihao and the old man were super similar, but evidently, the old man favored his grandson more.

"What time is it?"

Feng Fanghua asked.

"Four o’clock!"

Qin Mu glanced at her watch.

"Okay! Your dad said he was picking up Huanhuan and Chengcheng from school this afternoon; call him to remind him not to forget the time!"

Feng Fanghua nodded, as the maid happened to pass tea over, so she leaned over to take the cup placed on her side and sipped a little.

"Alright!"

Qin Mu nodded in agreement, then took out her mobile from her pocket to call Mu Zihao. Mu Zihao was already on the road and answered upon seeing it was his daughter-in-law calling.

"Mumu!"

"Uh-huh! Dad, I heard you’re picking up the siblings from school?"

"I’m already on my way. Your mom must have asked you to call, huh? She always worries about me!"

Mu Zihao understood from Qin Mu’s words that Feng Fanghua was behind the reminder.

"Yes! Drive safely!"

Qin Mu chuckled, thinking these two were really in sync, and quickly ended the call, not wanting to disturb his driving.
