His Forsaken Luna-Chapter 42: Dizzying Moods
I’m frozen as the wolf bares his teeth, large paws by the sides of my face. Faidon takes a step toward us, but the wolf snarls at him before returning his attention to me. Luminous green eyes glower down at me. The fear that had skittered through me vanishes as I glare back at Eryx.
"Get. Off. Of. Me," I punctuate each word with a hiss.
The beast’s jaws get closer, exhaling a cloud of air harshly from his nose, blowing back the few strands of my hair that wouldn’t remain in the plaited bun.
He snarled again, and I scoffed. "Your plan is going well for you."
I lean forward, pushing my elbows into the snow and glare back at the Alpha Prince. "What now? You want to rip my face off?"
The black wolf’s snout inhaled deeply against the side of my neck, then sniffed around my hair. Growls vibrated through his chest and the ground beneath me.
"You do not fear him?" Faidon watches curiously.
What was I meant to say to that? Of course, I fear a large Were who leapt on me, possibly intent on ripping me apart. But what else was new? I’ve been walking on eggshells for most of my life now.
This? An angry Alpha? Please. "This has been the most foolish thing I have seen you do since coming here," I say to the large wolf, who growls in response. "This is quite an overreaction, Prince," I muse. "Whatever will you do if someone notices?"
Actually, would they let me get eaten? I internally shake the thought away. They weren’t stupid. Alaric would kill them all for their ’incompetence’.
If word gets around about this little stunt, then I will probably be free from his blackmail. What else could I do for him besides acting as some sort of cover going on dates with him?
"He says he smells another on you," Faidon states.
"My slave," I hiss back. "He does my hair. Now get off me before I do some real damage."
Bones begin to crack, and in an instant, Eryx transforms back into his human self, utterly naked, his glare softening as he observes me, tilting head. "There’s that spark," he murmurs, then amusement flashes in those green eyes. "And you do not wish to learn to fight? I do not believe that for a second."
"Right now, I wish I knew how so I could hurt you. Get. Off. Of. Me."
"What happened to your maid?" Eryx asks instead of following my instructions.
"Stubborn Alpha ass," I hiss.
Eryx’s pupils dilate slightly, but he chuckles lightly instead of acting like a typical domineering, angry Alpha. Oh, it was coming. I know it is. Somehow, I have entertained him more with my lack of submissive behaviour—something that seems to keep happening whenever I am with this man, and more so since his arrival. The Alpha in my blood seems to spark to life.
"So?"
"So?" I glower back. "Why are you still on top of me like this?! It is completely inappropriate!"
Eryx smirked. "You didn’t mind the first time."
"Ugh." My hand shot out.
Like usual, Eryx was quicker, blocking my hand before it hit his face. He pinned it behind me in the snow. Frustration inhaled deep into my chest before the other hand followed and instantly was pinned above me.
With both hands pinned to the ground, Eryx’s chest brushed against mine, and a certain organ grew against my stomach. My eyes narrowed before a smile tugged on my lips, and my knee snapped forward towards his groin.
My breath squeezed out of my lungs as I was spun, the white and grey world spinning in a blur until I was on my front, hands twisted in front of me, legs spread apart and his knee between them, his body pressing against mine. Our breaths mingled in puffs in the cold.
My body was damp from the snow seeping through my clothing, but with the Alpha Prince pinning me like this, my body did not feel the cold; it was set on fire. Eryx brought his lips to the back of my neck, barely hovering above the skin. My back arched, my backside brushing against his length and I lowered my neck, allowing him more access to the area.
"Hmmm, I quite like this position," he whispers to the back of my neck. "Your scent is dizzying."
I stiffened, realising what I was doing. The damned heat! Eryx always made it worse. With a narrowed gaze, I thrust my hips back, hoping to cause some sort of pain. The Alpha Prince grunts and then chuckles. "Keep doing that, Lia, and we will have more problems than the Southern Prince pinning this kingdom’s Princess to the ground."
"Are you..." I breathe out slowly, trying to control the ache between my thighs, the tingling at my neck and the pebbling of my nipples, along with the frustration of my desire and irritation at this man. "Seriously aroused by this?"
"How can I not be?"
"You literally attacked me like some possessive mate because of another man’s scent," I clip back. "And now you are aroused because I tried to hit you and then knee you in your... delicate area."
Eryx’s response was to growl at mentioning Theo’s scent, then burst into a loud laugh. My eyes widened at the sound and the fluttering reaction in my stomach. He sounded so carefree; it startled me.
"Delicate area?" We spun around again, dizzying me further until I lay on top of him.
"Eryx!" I gasp. Somehow, my hands were still pinned to the ground but by each side of Eryx’s head.
"Is that what we are calling it now?" He grins up at me, and my brain shuts down completely.
I thought Theo’s smile was otherworldly with his cute dimples and angelic face. If he was angelic, then Eryx was the epitome of sin incarnate, the devil himself, because I stopped breathing. This man was my enemy. This man blackmailed me. This man must be the devil because he was described as the most handsome of all angels.
And Eryx was utterly sinful. As though he read my mind or possibly smelt my arousal, Eryx’s smile transformed into his typical smirk. Those eyes were still beguiling, but I snapped out of my daze, remembering who I was, where I was and what position we were in right now.
Eryx’s fingers slide through mine. "I don’t mind this position either."
"Have you completely forgotten yourself, Alpha Prince?" I glare at him, ashamed of my body’s reaction and thoughts to him. Good looks mean nothing. Do not get it wrong!
"Rumours of their Princess attacking the Prince of Sun and Fury sound better, no?"
He chuckled, his chest rumbling more when I ripped my hands away from his and pushed off from his chest, ignoring the sparks between our skin touching. I forced myself to turn away, squeezing my eyes shut, trying to control this thirst clawing under my skin. I was soaking wet from the snow, but flames coursed through me, and the need to straddle Eryx was all-consuming.
The sound of snow crunching forced my eyes open, and a frown followed when I saw Faidon stop in front of me. His pupils were dilated. "Faidon..." I warned, swallowing thickly. "Do not come any closer."
Any embarrassment I felt about me and Eryx rolling around in the snow in front of Faidon vanished.
Eryx shot to his feet and shielded me from his shadow. "Faidon," his voice rumbled with authority.
The shadow shook his head. "I would never do anything, Your Highness. I have been trained against such advances and scent."
"Trained?" I spoke my thoughts aloud. How was he trained? Did I really want to know?
Eryx observed him as I peeked out from behind his shoulder—or should I say his bicep because the man was huge. "So what were you doing?" I question, the heat slowly fading. Oh, it was still there, especially with Eryx so close to me, but my curiosity was winning over it.
I found that even more fascinating. Could I use my curiosity as a means to keep symptoms at bay?
"My cloak," Faidon offers, holding it out for me. His gaze has moved away, his cheeks slightly flushed. Was my heat not affecting him, or could he control himself?
Eryx’s gaze flicks to me then his nostrils flare. He grabs the cloak and wraps it around me. From rolling around in the snow, mine had fallen free and was in the same state as my attire. I glance down and realise why Eryx’s pupils are dilating again.
My clothes are mostly see through, my nipples pointing through my dress. Eryx wraps the cloak around me instantly and picks me up.
"What the?! Put me down!" I smack his chest, and he raises an eyebrow at me.
"Hit me again." He winks, and my mouth drops open. "See what happens."
Recovering, my mouth slams shut. "Put me down. This is inappropriate, and others will talk-"
"Let them." Eryx shrugs. "Just staking my claim."
"What claim?!" I demand, about to smack his chest, until his eyes flick to mine again, reminding me of his words. He liked me hitting him?
"It is adorable how angry you get," he answers my unsaid question. Or perhaps I spoke aloud again? That habit needs to stop.
That was beside the point!
"I am not adorable!"
"Don’t worry, Lia. Everyone will know by the end of the day that I helped you," he grinned wickedly, and my frustration grew. He worked it out, huh? How fortunate. Not.
