His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker.-Chapter 590 Promise
She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest in a gesture of pure defiance. "Fine. But I’m not going to college. I mean... given my husband’s background, it’s very dangerous." She trailed off, giving him a meaningful look from under her lashes. "And do I really need a degree when I’m married to a billionaire?"
Leo raised one eyebrow. Slowly. Dangerously. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
She shifted tactics immediately, her expression turning hopeful. "What about online? I could study from home. In my pajamas. While cuddling you."
He considered this. His eyes narrowed slightly, weighing the compromise. The thought of her in pajamas, curled up against him with a laptop, was admittedly appealing.
"...Fine," he said finally.
Bella’s whole face lit up like the sun coming out from behind clouds. "Yay! I’ll finish in a few months."
Leo blinked. "What?"
"If I complete the whole syllabus in one go and learn everything properly, I can finish fast." She said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world, her eyes sparkling with triumph. "I’m good at studying when I want to. I hacked my way into multiple government systems before breakfast. A few textbooks won’t stop me."
"Bella, that’s not how—"
"I’ll compress it. Accelerated learning. Full immersion." She was practically vibrating with excitement now. "I’ll do two years of coursework in six months. Three months, maybe. Watch me."
Leo stared at her for a long moment.
Then he laughed, the sound filled with awe that made her heart flutter every time.
"You’re impossible," he said, shaking his head slowly.
She grinned, absolutely glowing with victory.
He pulled her closer, pressing his forehead to hers. Their breath mingled in the small space between them. The boat drifted. The water sang. The mountains watched.
"Finish your degree first," he murmured against her lips. "Then we’ll talk about babies."
She pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. "Promise?"
"Promise."
Her smile was radiant. She leaned forward and kissed him, soft and sweet, full of all the love she could not put into words.
When they broke apart, she was still smiling.
"I’m going to be the best student you’ve ever seen," she whispered.
"You’re the best everything I’ve ever seen."
She blushed again, burying her face in his chest.
After returning to the resort, they found the main hall quiet and empty. A note on the front desk explained that Hazel had taken Dominique, Jason, and Rika out to explore the hidden spots she had mentioned, something about a waterfall hike and a secret lake.
Bella smiled. "They’re going to have fun."
Leo grunted in response, already guiding her toward the stairs.
The moment their room door clicked shut behind them, Bella turned.
She pressed into him, her hands sliding up his chest to wrap around his neck. Her fingers threaded into the dark hair at his nape, tugging gently.
Leo’s hands found her waist immediately, pulling her closer until there was no space left between them.
She kissed him.
The kiss was full of heat and want and all the tension that had been building between them all day. The boat, the way he looked at her, the way his hands felt on her skin, it all poured into that single moment.
He responded instantly, his mouth moving against hers with that controlled intensity that always made her knees weak. One hand slid up her back, pressing her closer. The other stayed on her waist, fingers gripping as if he were afraid she might disappear.
Bella gasped against his lips, and he used the moment to deepen the kiss, his tongue sweeping into her mouth, tasting her, claiming her.
They stumbled backward together, neither willing to break apart.
Leo pulled back just long enough to look at her, flushed lips, heavy-lidded eyes. Something dark and hungry flickered in his gray eyes.
Then his mouth was on her neck, hot and open, kissing down the column of her throat while his hands gripped her hips, pulling her flush against him.
Bella’s head fell back, a soft moan escaping her as his teeth grazed the sensitive spot below her ear.
His response was a low, satisfied sound against her skin, vibrating through her like a second heartbeat.
"Leo..." she whispered, her fingers tightening in his hair as he kissed his way back up to her lips.
He captured her mouth. His tongue slid against hers, hot and demanding, and she met him with equal fire, matching every move, every breath.
They moved together, stumbling and falling, until the backs of his knees hit the bed and he dropped onto the mattress with her following, hovering above him.
"Let me," she breathed against his lips.
She pulled back just enough to reach for the buttons of his shirt. Her fingers worked quickly and urgently, pushing the fabric aside until his chest was bare beneath her.
He watched her through heavy-lidded eyes, his chest rising and falling with quickened breaths.
She gently pushed him flat on his back, and he let her. Let her take control. Let her do whatever she wanted.
Bella leaned down, pressing her lips to his shoulder first. Then lower, following the path of his healed wound.
The scar remained, a pale, raised line where the injury had been.
She kissed it lovingly.
Then her tongue traced along it, slow and gentle, as if she could soothe away the memory of pain.
Leo’s eyes hooded completely, his jaw going slack, a rough sound escaping his throat.
"Bella..." Her name came out strangled, half plea, half warning.
She smiled against his skin and kept going, trailing kisses along the scar, her lips soft and reverent.
He let her. For a moment. Two.
Then he had enough.
In one fluid motion, he flipped their positions, his body pressing hers into the mattress, his weight a delicious pressure that stole her breath. His gray eyes were dark now, stormy, intense, hungry.
He did not wait.
His mouth captured hers in a kiss that was all possession, all demand. His tongue swept inside, claiming and tasting, while one hand tangled in her hair, tilting her head exactly how he wanted.
His other hand found her waist, fingers spread wide, gripping and caressing, sliding up beneath her dress to feel the warm skin beneath. He traced the curve of her ribs, the dip of her waist, the soft swell of her hip.
Then his lips left hers.
He kissed her jaw, slow and deliberate, dragging his mouth along the bone until he reached the spot just below her ear. He bit down, not hard enough to truly hurt, but enough to make her gasp, enough to leave a mark.
Her breath hitched, a sharp intake of air.
He soothed it with his tongue, then moved lower.
