His Mistress is His Ex-Wife-Chapter 333: Need to Think it Over
After hearing the revelation from her brother, Enzo, Sabrina locked herself in her room for a whole day. She didn’t talk to anyone.
Understanding what she had been going through right now, Enzo just let her be, giving her some space and time to fully accept everything.
Lanny, on the other hand, explained the situation to Vladimir, telling him not to disturb Sabrina in the meantime.
She also tried to comfort her brother because of the failure of his marriage registration with Sabrina.
Meanwhile, Aaron decided to stay by his father’s side today, trying to cheer him up. Dominique was also left heartbroken after talking to Sabrina.
When Sabrina woke up, it was already nighttime. Her eyes were still red and swollen from crying too much.
Enzo noticed her immediately when she stepped out of her room.
"How do you feel, sis? Are you hungry? I already cooked some food. I can reheat them for you."
"I’m fine. I’m not hungry," Sabrina responded. She didn’t have an appetite.
Enzo just nodded.
"By the way, Aaron just called earlier. He told me that he would be staying with his father tonight. Dominique will send him home tomorrow."
Sabrina’s heart clenched at the mention of Dominique’s name.
"Okay, Bro. I understand. I allowed Aaron to be with his father today."
Sensing her dispirited mood, Enzo stood up and approached her. He quickly pulled her into a warm hug.
"Sis... I know you are having a hard time right now. I understand how you feel. But remember, I am always here for you. Our father did something unforgivable... but he remained a good father to us... So... we need to learn to forgive him. Don’t be so hard on yourself, sis. This is not your fault."
Enzo’s comforting words stirred Sabrina’s emotions once more. She couldn’t stop her tears from falling.
"Bro... I still couldn’t believe that our father could do something like this. Deep down, I am still hoping that... there might be some misunderstandings. I don’t know how to face Dominique. All my resentments toward him suddenly disappeared," she admitted, acknowledging her feelings.
"I feel like... I don’t have the right to get mad at him... And I think we deserve to suffer in his hands due to our father’s sin," she added.
Hearing her words, Enzo shook his head in objection. "No, Sab. Dominique didn’t have the right to hurt you. You are innocent. You have nothing to do with our father’s sin. So it’s okay to get mad at him for betraying you before."
He cupped her face so that he could look into her eyes. Then he said, "Don’t ever blame yourself, Sis. Do you understand?"
Sabrina just remained quiet while Enzo wiped her tears away.
"Bro, I made a deal with Dominique." Sabrina finally broke her silence.
Enzo frowned upon hearing that. Wanting to hear more from her, he gently guided Sabrina to sit down.
"What kind of deal?" He asked her with his curious eyes.
"He promised to cooperate with me to process our divorce papers, only if I could fulfill his wishes in two weeks. He finally agreed to let me go..."
"Then that’s good to hear. He didn’t make things hard for you," Enzo said, feeling a little bit relieved.
But the smile on Enzo’s face faded instantly when he noticed the complicated emotions brewing in Sabrina’s eyes.
"What’s wrong, Sis? Why is it that you aren’t happy at all?"
Sabrina hesitated for a moment, taking a deep sigh.
"I don’t know how to explain it... but... I suddenly felt sad about this, Bro. I am not supposed to feel this way. But I can’t help it." She finally opened up.
Enzo looked at her worriedly as the realization struck him.
"Sis, don’t tell me... You still have feelings for Dominique?"
Sabrina was not able to respond. She just slammed her eyes shut while clenching her fists. She didn’t want to acknowledge it. But somehow, she could no longer deny her feelings.
"I know... this is so wrong. And it’s unfair to Vladimir. But what can I do, Bro? It seems that... my heart has never forgotten Dominique. I thought my resentment was enough to erase my love for him. I thought my love for him had died with me five years ago... But I was wrong. I might have hated him... but I never stopped loving him."
Enzo was stunned after hearing Sabrina’s confession.
"I still care about him, Bro. I still do... but I am aware that Dominique and I can never be together. This is our fate. We shouldn’t have loved each other in the first place."
Enzo didn’t know what to say. He had mixed feelings about this. He could tell that learning the truth about their father’s sin was one of the factors that helped Sabrina to acknowledge her feelings toward Dominique.
When her resentment disappeared, her love for him, which she had buried in her heart for a long time, suddenly resurfaced.
"Are you still going to marry Vladimir, even though your heart still belongs to Dominique?" Enzo asked her expectantly.
He wanted to hear her answer from the bottom of her heart.
Sabrina took her time before she answered him.
"I have to marry him. Vladimir had done so much just to help me. I owed him a lot. I should commit to him. This is the least I can do to express my gratitude toward him. I believe... If I set my mind to it, I will eventually learn to love him with all my heart."
Enzo sighed deeply. "Sis, you only want to marry him because you feel indebted to him. I don’t think this is the right thing to do. Don’t force yourself to love him. What will you do if he learns that you still love Dominique? He will end up getting hurt... You have to think it over, sis."
Sabrina fell silent, unable to refute her brother’s words.
Sensing the confusion in her heart, Enzo grabbed Sabrina’s shoulders. "Sis, I think it’s a good thing that you were not able to register your marriage with him today. You still have time to reconsider your decision and find out what your heart truly desires. Don’t rush into your decision. Take your time, Sis. I don’t want you to regret it someday."
Sabrina could only nod in response to Enzo’s heartfelt advice.
"I understand. I will keep that in mind... Bro."
