Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Where Are You Taking My Wife?

Miles Goodman seemed to be triggered by something, his emotions extremely agitated.

Kiana Sutton was indeed startled. She took a few steps back, putting some distance between them.

Just as she was about to gesture with her hands, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open. Quinn Sinclair stormed in, her face filled with anger, and landed a punch right on Miles Goodman’s handsome face.

"Bastard! That’s not what you said when you called me and begged for help! Do you know how long I struggled before agreeing to bring my sister-in-law here to meet you? You asshole, you actually wanted to run away with my sister-in-law? I swear I’ll beat you to death!"

Quinn Sinclair was about to explode with rage.

Last night, as she was getting into bed after her shower, she received a call from Miles Goodman.

On the call, she learned someone had sent her father a picture of Miles and Kiana Sutton kissing—but obviously looking misplaced—in a compromising way.

Mr. Goodman had met Kiana Sutton when the Sinclair Matriarch turned eighty-eight. He knew she was Ethan Sinclair’s wife, so when he saw his own son hooking up with another man’s wife and planning to cuckold Ethan Sinclair, he was so furious he called his son home immediately.

Mr. Goodman had just wanted to lecture Miles, telling him not to be so reckless as to fight Ethan Sinclair for a woman. Little did he know, his usually obedient son actually rebelled against him for Kiana Sutton.

When he saw his son was dead set and unrepentant—and then received a call from Ethan Sinclair telling him to discipline his son—Mr. Goodman felt both humiliated and furious, so he grounded Miles and confiscated his phone.

He tried to make Miles give up on Kiana Sutton, but Miles couldn’t do it. He was stubborn and kept pushing back against his family, refusing to admit wrongdoing. That grounding lasted for over a week.

While locked up, Miles did a lot of thinking.

If Ethan Sinclair was a good man who truly loved Kiana Sutton, who could bring her happiness and joy,

then even if Miles’s heart ached and he was unwilling, he would let go.

But Ethan Sinclair was an asshole. He claimed to love Kate Lynch, yet refused to let Kiana Sutton go, draining her emotionally.

So how could Miles possibly be willing to give up?

But being locked away wasn’t a solution. Miles pretended to have come to his senses, and after getting his phone back, he originally wanted to contact Kiana Sutton—except that Ethan would see it—so he called Quinn Sinclair instead.

"What? You want me to invite my sister-in-law out? What the hell for?"

Quinn knew Miles liked Kiana Sutton. Whether it was for his own good or for the sake of her brother’s marriage, she naturally started becoming wary of Miles.

"I know Ethan misunderstood Kiana and me. I just want to meet her and apologize...and...I want to ask her how she really feels about me."

"What the fuck, are you crazy or am I crazy? You want to steal my brother’s wife and still want my help to set up the meeting? Don’t even think about it, I won’t help you."

Quinn Sinclair was firm in her decision.

Miles had no choice but to plead, "Quinn, please, we’ve grown up together and I’ve never asked you for anything—not until now. You know as well as I do, Ethan Sinclair doesn’t love Kiana Sutton. She’s such a wonderful person, she deserves so much better—why should she live a lifetime of pain and humiliation by his side?"

"That’s still between my brother and my sister-in-law. I..."

Quinn hadn’t finished before Miles cut her off. "Your brother loves Kate Lynch. Now that Kate’s woken up, he’ll divorce Kiana sooner or later. For Kiana Sutton, it’s better to rip the bandage off now than drag out the pain."

Quinn hesitated.

She’d seen Ethan Sinclair treating Kiana harshly, yet being so sweet to Kate—totally double standards.

She had thought love would grow in time. After all, her sister-in-law was cute, pretty, and kind—no way her brother wouldn’t fall for her.

But thinking of all the bruises Kiana had, and remembering how Ethan only vented on her with no real affection, she really felt sorry for Kiana.

Noticing Quinn’s wavering, Miles quickly said, "I’m not asking for much. I just want to see her once and ask how she feels about me. If she says she’ll never love me, then I’ll let it go for good. I won’t bother her again."

Miles sounded so earnest and sincere that Quinn couldn’t resist his persistent pleas.

Thinking about how the two of them had grown up together, and remembering Kiana only loved Ethan, she decided to help Miles meet Kiana—hoping he’d give up sooner.

Who would have thought that Miles had tricked her!

He had never planned to give up on Kiana. He even wanted to elope with her.

Luckily, she hadn’t trusted them alone, and had stuck her ear to the door for a while—otherwise she’d have been helping the wrong side!

Miles hadn’t expected Quinn Sinclair to burst in like this. He knew he’d let Quinn down and could only let her vent her anger.

At the same time, someone had invited Ethan Sinclair here to talk business over a meal. He and Connor Grant had just reached the second floor when they heard Quinn Sinclair cursing someone out.

Connor looked at Ethan in surprise. "Fifth Master, I think that’s Miss Quinn’s voice."

In Varden, who had the guts to bully the Sinclair Family’s little princess?

"Let’s check it out."

Ethan Sinclair headed toward the private room, Connor hurrying after him, rolling up his sleeves and getting ready to fight.

Meanwhile, inside the room—

After letting Quinn land several punches, Miles Goodman finally grabbed her hand. "Quinn, I’m sorry, but now that things have come to this—even if you beat me to death, my feelings won’t change."

He turned to face Kiana Sutton. He was so nervous his whole body shook, his lips trembling, red veins in his eyes.

"Kiana, I know I’m not the one you like right now, but I’ll give you everything I have—I’ll find a way to make you love me. As long as you nod and come with me, no matter what happens in the future, I’ll always protect you."

It was only now that Kiana Sutton realized—this wasn’t dinner. This was a setup. A total trap!

No wonder both of them looked so grim when they saw her, not discussing anything before dinner.

Honestly, if they’d talked about this before eating, she wouldn’t have been able to take a single bite.

Kiana’s head throbbed painfully. She let out a heavy sigh, and was just about to gesture when a familiar, icy voice suddenly rang out.

"Leave? Miles Goodman, where do you think you’re taking my wife?"

Right after that, a man in a black suit, black gloves, and black tie walked in, his handsome face cold with rage.

The moment the three of them saw Ethan Sinclair, it was as if a villain had stepped onto the stage.

Quinn Sinclair’s face changed instantly. She darted behind Kiana Sutton to hide.

Kiana herself hadn’t expected Ethan Sinclair to be here; realizing he’d overheard their conversation, her face went sheet-white in an instant.

Miles Goodman, though looking grim, instinctively shielded Kiana, staring Ethan Sinclair down without fear. "Deal with me if you’ve got a problem! Don’t bully two women."
