Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Ethan Sinclair Kisses Kate Lynch

Ethan Sinclair was feeling quite gloomy; Kiana Sutton knew he had a cold and fever, yet she still felt like going to watch the sunrise.

Furthermore, today is his birthday. That woman didn’t even bother to give him a gift or wish him a happy birthday.

Is she just unwilling to see Kate come to celebrate his birthday?

"Ian, have some breakfast and then take your medicine."

"No need, it’s just a minor cold, it’ll pass soon."

Ethan rarely falls sick, and when he does, he just endures until it passes.

After Felix Lynch’s death, he spent some time in the hospital, taking medicine daily, and now, the sight of medicine makes him nauseous.

Kate Lynch persuaded for a while, seeing Ethan still refusing to take it, she compromised, "Alright, if you don’t want to take medicine, at least put on this fever patch."

Ethan: "... I’m not a child! I won’t wear this thing."

Kate was amused, "Who says only kids wear fever patches? Come on, let me put it on for you."

Kate tore open the fever patch and was about to apply it to Ethan, but due to their height difference, she tugged at Ethan’s clothes and playfully said, "You’re too tall, bend down a bit, or I won’t reach."

Just as Ethan was about to bend down, memories of every time Kiana helped him tie his tie flashed in his mind.

Kiana, being petite, needed him to bow down each time; if he was impatient, he would simply pick her up.

Then, while admiring her rosy cheeks reminiscent of a peach, he would enjoy her service.

"Hurry up, my arms are getting tired."

Ethan glanced complexly at Kate, then took the fever patch from her hand, "I’ll do it myself."

Kate was somewhat disappointed; it was rare that Kiana and Quinn Sinclair weren’t around as third wheels, she wanted some intimate moments with Ethan.

Unexpectedly, Ethan was so oblivious to romance.

If it were Kiana, would he also refuse, or indulge her?

No, no, now isn’t the time for jealousy, she must find ways to deepen Ethan’s feelings for her.

Whether it’s love or guilt, as long as there’s emotion, it’s fine.

Kate ordered food from the server; in good spirits, she ate quite a lot, while Ethan seemed to have no appetite, taking only two bites before putting down his chopsticks.

He looked at the gloomy sky outside, his brows tightly furrowed.

After the meal, seeing Ethan seated on a bench gazing into the distance, lost in thought, holding a few scripts, Kate approached him, "Ian, the company gave me several scripts to choose from, could you advise me?"

Without waiting for Ethan to speak, she sighed heavily with some sorrow, "You know I have a hard time making choices; back then, every time I had to choose, it was my brother who helped me. If it were my brother, he’d definitely analyze the pros and cons and give me good advice."

Mentioning Felix Lynch brought a sniffle from Kate, her eyes reddening.

Ethan felt a sting in his heart, and whispered to Kate, "Let me take a look."

Kate’s eyes lit up immediately, she sat beside Ethan, introducing the scripts, "This one is a heroine role in a period drama with a popular young star as the male lead; it’s a sweet romance with plenty of kissing scenes, I’m hesitant on taking it. And this, it’s a mystery drama..."

On the other side, Kiana Sutton, Quinn Sinclair, and their group had set out early to watch the sunrise, but the weather was uncooperative; even by ten o’clock, they hadn’t seen the sun.

Quinn Sinclair was displeased; they had climbed the mountain for so long just to leave empty-handed.

"Ahh, this is so frustrating; I swear I’ll never trust weather forecasts again! In the morning, it said the sun would be out by six, then fooled us by turning into overcast skies."

"Indeed, such a pity!"

Everyone was filled with resentment, so Kiana comforted Quinn, gesturing, "It’s okay, there’s beauty in regrets too, our lives are long; whenever we want, we can watch the sunrise."

Kiana possessed an optimism; after everything she’d been through, she’d already be reclusive otherwise.

"I know, but I’m still so angry; today is my twentieth birthday, I wanted a beautiful photo with the sunrise."

Kiana’s eyes lit up, signaling, "I have an idea."

In Kiana’s phone, there was a picture of a boastful Quinn; finding one where she smiled brightly, she inserted a sunrise into the background.

Upon seeing it, Quinn felt touched yet amused, tightly hugging Kiana, "Sis-in-law, let’s come watch the sunrise together next time?"

Kiana nodded with a smile.

Yet, Kiana was somewhat concerned about Ethan; when they’d left in the morning, Ethan had a fever and she had wanted to stay behind to take care of him, but Quinn pulled her away.

I wonder how Ethan is now?

When they returned to the tent, Kiana noticed Ethan and Kate were not inside.

After Quinn asked a waiter, she learned they had gone to an open-air restaurant.

Since it’s Ethan’s birthday today, Kiana took the gift, and with Quinn, headed over to find Ethan.

Meanwhile, in the restaurant, under Ethan’s recommendation, Kate chose the mysterious drama.

She was about to speak when she keenly spotted Kiana and Quinn approaching.

With a sudden idea, she clutched her right eye and screamed, "Ah... Ian, something’s in my eye, it hurts so much!"

Kate’s cries were pitiful, prompting Ethan to instantly sit up, "Let go of your hand, let me see."

"Okay."

Kate released her hand, allowing Ethan to examine her eye.

"Open your eye, let me take a look..."

"I can’t, it hurts!"

Speaking, Kate forced out a tear, seeing her in pain, Ethan gently cradled her face, using his thumb to carefully open Kate’s right eye.

Kate intentionally leaned closer to Ethan, in a pose that from Kiana’s perspective, appeared as if Ethan was embracing Kate for a kiss.

Quinn never expected to witness this; her face turned pale, cautiously glancing at Kiana.

Having always been eloquent, she considered herself a walking dictionary; yet at this moment, she was at a loss for how to describe Kiana’s expression.

There wasn’t disbelief or pain on her face, rather it seemed as though she had anticipated this day, but her eyes were filled with sorrow.

"Sis-in-law... are you... are you alright?"

Quinn nervously clasped Kiana’s arm, realizing her body was extremely stiff, even trembling slightly.

After a few seconds, Kiana appeared to have composed herself, turning to smile at Quinn, "I’m fine, let’s go back!"

"But they..."

Quinn glared angrily at Ethan and Kate, fury rising in her heart, "Sis-in-law, we can’t just let this go, come, I’ll fight for your justice."
