Chapter 93 - Time Blessing

"You can save Rin?" Noran's eyes widened, his voice a mix of surprise and hope.

Yet, skepticism quickly set in.

Suddenly waking up in a different place, faced with a mysterious woman, it was only natural not to trust her immediately.

Madam Faye smiled slightly, meeting Noran's suspicious gaze. "The incense in this room is infused with a holy essence. Your sweet wife has been inhaling it, neutralizing the poison's effects."

At her words, Noran looked back down at Shuri. Unlike before, she looked less deathly pale, her lips no longer purple, and her breathing seemed stable despite not needing a breathing aid. He quickly checked her pulse and was relieved to find it was no longer as weak as before.

"Do you trust me now, Mr. Noran?" she asked, her voice calm and knowing.

Noran was taken aback.

She knew who he was?

But he didn't bother asking how she knew or how they had been transported to this bizarre place. His only concern was Shuri.

"Name your price," Noran said firmly. "As long as you can save Rin, I'll pay you any amount you want."

Madam Faye let out a soft chuckle. "Only mortals yearn for money. I don't need something so superficial."

She then pointed to Shuri's body. "What I want is inside her."

Noran frowned. "What?"

Madam Faye clarified, "The time blessing. You're its owner, aren't you?"

Noran was startled once again. This mysterious woman even knew that he had placed his blessing inside Shuri. Curiosity about this enigma, who seemed to know everything about them, began to gnaw at him.

"How do you know about my blessing? Who exactly are you?" he demanded.

Madam Faye answered, "You don't need to know who I am, but since you were previously my patient, I kept an eye on you to track your recovery."

"I was your patient?" Noran echoed, bewildered.

"In a different timeline, not the current one," she replied.

Noran's eyes widened further. She even knew he had returned from the past.

Noran's mind raced with memories as he connected the dots.

"Are you saying you were the one who saved me back then?" He suddenly recalled how he had been miraculously healed, waking up without any injury despite taking a fatal gunshot to his chest.

Madam Faye believed that as her patient, Noran had the right to know what had transpired. "Yes, it was a request from your sweet wife. She's my VIP, you see. I couldn't turn her down."

Noran furrowed his brows. If Madam Faye had saved his life in their previous existence at Shuri's request, what had happened to Shuri?

Noran furrowed his brows. "Back then, did you save Rin, too? What happened to her?"

After hearing Madam Faye's account, Noran suddenly held hope that Shuri hadn't died back then but was somewhere in another dimension that he couldn't reach. His heart pounded as he awaited her answer.

However...

"She didn't ask me to save her, so..." freёwebnoѵel.com

Noran's gaze turned sharp at Madam Faye's nonchalant response as if Shuri's life didn't matter to her. He instinctively tightened his grasp against Shuri's hand, his knuckles turning white.

"So, you let her die?" he gritted his teeth as he spoke those words, his voice trembling with suppressed rage.

Madam Faye shrugged. "That depends on your definition of death."

"You..." Noran tried to hold back his anger, knowing he shouldn't view Madam Faye as an enemy.

Even without studying her, Madam Faye exuded an otherworldly aura. The space they were in and her presence seemed out of sync with the modern world. Madam Faye appeared to be a higher being, someone akin to a deity with an omniscient view.

Despite her enigmatic nature, he sensed no negative energy from her. Given how easily she had lifted Shuri's symptoms, which no modern doctor could, he believed she might truly be capable of saving Shuri.

Letting go of his anger, Noran said, "If you can save Rin, I'll give you my blessing."

Madam Faye looked rather pleased but remained fair, wanting to ensure he understood the gravity of his decision.

"Blessings are actually fairies' souls. They transform themselves into blessings and follow the person they've chosen. The blessing that chose you is called the time blessing, with the ability to slow down time. It's an incredibly rare blessing. Are you sure you'll part with it?"

"I need you to save Rin," Noran emphasized.

He had sought the fairies because of Shuri. Though the time blessing had turned back time, reunited him with Shuri, and helped him through many hardships, he was willing to give it up if that was the price to save her.

What's the point of having the blessing if he'd end up separated from her again?

"I need to make it clear that giving away a blessing is no different from giving away your fortune. The betrayal of cutting off the connection with your blessing might bring misfortune to yourself. Are you alright with going down that path?"

"I don't care what happens to me. Please just save Rin."

Madam Faye let out a low chuckle. "Oh my, both of you are so alike."

She remembered how Shuri had said the exact words in their past life when she begged her to save Noran.

"Let's sign the contract, shall we?" Madam Faye said in a cheerful tone.

With a flick of her wrist, a document materialized in the air, floating gently toward Noran.

He took the glowing paper with his free hand, marveling at the strange, sparkling gold letters that shimmered on the surface. He couldn't comprehend the ancient script.

"The contract is written in an ancient language. Allow me to translate it for you," Madam Faye offered. She waved her hand, and the words on the document slowly transformed into a language Noran understood.

Despite the surreal nature of the situation, Noran remained composed.

He read the contract thoroughly, noting the clear terms and conditions. It stated that Madam Faye would receive his time blessing after successfully treating Shuri. The contract was straightforward, devoid of any hidden clauses, and included a privacy clause ensuring that Madam Faye would not disclose any details of their agreement.

"If you agree to the terms, please sign," Madam Faye instructed, her tone polite yet firm.

A magical feather pen appeared out of thin air before Noran. He grasped it, feeling its smooth, weightless texture, and signed his name on the contract.

As he signed, a gentle glow enveloped the paper, then it vanished into thin air. Madam Faye's smile widened, satisfied. "Excellent. Now, let's begin the treatment."

Madam Faye walked over to Shuri and gently touched her other hand. "As expected, the poison in her body contains black magic. Modern healthcare won't be able to detoxify it."

"Black magic?" Noran furrowed his brows.

Did Sigmund know black magic?

How did he create a fatal poison using black magic?

Madam Faye replied, "There are still a few alchemists and conjurers in the world who practice black magic to create powerful and dangerous substances. These dark alchemists infuse their potions with malevolent energy, making them nearly impossible to cure through conventional means."

As Madam Faye continued speaking, a blue pill materialized on her palm as if by magic. She sneered confidently. "But there's no poison I can't neutralize or illness I can't cure."

Then, she gently placed the pill into Shuri's mouth, and it dissolved almost instantly, leaving a faint shimmer on her lips. "This antidote is a blend of mystical herbs and white magic. It will neutralize the black magic in her system."

Noran watched anxiously, his grip on Shuri's hand tightening as he observed the process. "How long will it take for her to recover?"

Madam Faye's gaze remained calm and reassuring. "The antidote will start working immediately, but full recovery will take time. The black magic has deeply rooted itself in her body, and it will take a few days for her system to cleanse itself completely. And don't worry, there won't be any side effects."

Despite Madam Faye's assurance, Noran couldn't relax until he saw Shuri wake up. His gaze remained fixed on her, a mixture of hope and anxiety evident in his eyes.

In the darkness, Shuri drifted in a state that felt oddly familiar, reminiscent of the moments after her death.

It was warm, quiet, and strangely comforting.

But then, a shimmering sound disturbed her peace. She opened her eyes to see a pink butterfly fluttering before her.

Recognizing it as Noran's blessing, she muttered, "You're here with me," and reached out her hand to touch it.

The butterfly flitted away, and Shuri quickly got up to follow it.

"Wait..." she called out, her voice echoing in the black tunnel. The butterfly continued to lead her forward, its wings glowing softly.

Suddenly, a strong light appeared before her, so intense that she had to shield her eyes. Despite the brightness, she kept running towards it, driven by an inexplicable urgency.

When Shuri finally opened her eyes again, her blurry vision cleared, and she saw the face she had longed to see.

"Ran," she whispered, a warm smile spreading across her face as she reached out to him.
