Chapter 170: Chapter 170: A Perfect Match

Talia frowned, her gaze coldly sweeping over Selina Hughes, who was forced to kowtow, before turning to the stern-faced Adrian Jennings and asking, "What do you mean by recklessly taking lives?"

Adrian didn’t want to tell Talia about Selina’s involvement in helping Vincent Fletcher cover up murders.

Talia had already worn herself out over the unrelated Willow siblings, Matthew and Luna, finding it hard to eat and sleep well. If she learned about the innocent victims brutally killed by Vincent Fletcher, she would undoubtedly be distressed for a long time.

He replied coolly, "It’s about the Jessica Coleman incident."

"Oh." Talia lowered her eyes, feeling that things were not that simple.

That day, Selina Hughes was expelled from The Jennings Family.

Adrian Jennings handed her over to the police.

Selina Hughes was officially arrested.

...

Aridia.

After hanging up the phone, Eric Donovan, one of Vincent Fletcher’s men, looked grave.

"Boss, Selina Hughes has been handed over to the police by Adrian Jennings. She sent word hoping you could save her."

Vincent Fletcher laughed nonchalantly and asked Eric, "Would you waste effort saving someone useless?"

Eric bowed his head and replied, "I understand, Boss."

Vincent then asked, "How’s it going with Julian Grant?"

"We’ve already given him the items Selina Hughes provided."

"Hmm." Vincent gently swirled his wine glass, a smile playing at his lips, "The show is about to start."

...

Saturday morning.

Amanda Lynch called specifically to remind Talia Rhodes.

"Lawyer Rhodes, I got your number from Samuel. Do you remember agreeing to dinner tonight last week?" Amanda asked gently.

Talia replied, "Of course."

Amanda breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "I’ve booked a room at The Dynasty Grand Hotel for seven o’clock. I’ll have Samuel come pick you up."

"No need, I’ll drive myself."

"Alright then, see you tonight. Bye, Lawyer Rhodes."

"Bye."

At six in the afternoon, Talia changed her clothes and prepared to go out.

She didn’t dress up deliberately, only applied light makeup.

She wore a cream-colored long dress underneath, layered with a beige coat, her wavy hair casually draping over her shoulders, giving off a gentle and elegant vibe.

At the agreed hotel, Talia parked her car in the outdoor parking lot and encountered Amanda coming out as she reached the entrance.

Amanda was holding Tiana’s hand and smiled warmly upon seeing Talia, "Lawyer Rhodes, I guessed you were about to arrive and came down to check. What a coincidence; perfect timing."

"Tiana, say hello to your sister," Amanda said to her daughter.

Little Tiana smiled sweetly up at Talia, her eyes forming crescents as she greeted, "Good evening, sister Talia."

Talia smiled gently and handed Tiana a pink bag with a bow, "Good evening, Tiana. Here’s a gift from sister."

Amanda looked slightly surprised and quickly waved her hands, "You shouldn’t have. I’m already treating you to dinner tonight to thank you for your help. You really shouldn’t have brought a gift."

Talia chuckled, "It’s for the little one. Tiana is so adorable. My little sister is about her age, and seeing Tiana reminds me of her. It’s just a small gift, don’t worry about it."

Amanda glanced at the bag in Tiana’s hands.

The bag bore the PRADA logo. Curious, the little one promptly took out what was inside.

It was a pair of very pretty hair clips, pink with a ring of sparkly pink rhinestones.

The little girl’s eyes lit up at the sight of the hair clips, and she said with a crisp, delighted voice, "Wow, thank you, sister Talia. The clips are so pretty. I love them."

Amanda smiled, "You shouldn’t have, Lawyer Rhodes, but thank you."

"As long as the little one likes them."

Although Amanda was treating them to dinner to express her gratitude, Talia felt it would be rude to arrive empty-handed and bought a pair of hair clips.

Young girls just love these pink, sparkly little hair clips.

"Lawyer Rhodes, let me show you the way," Amanda said with a smile.

"Okay."

The private room was on the third floor, and Talia followed Amanda into the elevator.

As the elevator doors closed, Tiana, holding the clips, looked up at Amanda and said, "Mommy, help me put them on."

"This child."

Amanda laughed helplessly, receiving the pair of hair clips and placing one on each side of the little one’s head.

"They look lovely," Talia praised.

Amanda said, "Thank you so much, Lawyer Rhodes."

"You’re welcome."

In just a couple of sentences, they arrived on the third floor.

Amanda led Talia to the private room.

As she pushed open the door, Talia was momentarily stunned by who she saw inside.

Inside, four people were sitting.

Samuel Langdon stood up and greeted her with a smile, "Good evening, partner."

Amanda teased with a smile, "Why so formal? You’re so familiar with each other; Talia sounds much nicer."

Then she turned back to Talia and said, "Samuel happened to be nearby on business and hadn’t had dinner yet, so I asked him to join us. I hope you don’t mind, Lawyer Rhodes?"

Talia shook her head, "I don’t mind."

Besides Samuel Langdon in the room, there was an elderly couple with kind faces and a middle-aged man in a suit, looking genteel.

"Hello, Miss Rhodes, I’m Nathan Grant, Tiana’s father. Thank you so much for helping us find Tiana when she was lost," said the middle-aged man, standing up to greet her.

Talia understood.

So, he was Amanda’s husband, Tiana’s father, and also Samuel Langdon’s uncle by marriage.

She politely replied, "Hello, Mr. Grant."

After Nathan spoke, the elderly gentleman expressed his heartfelt thanks, "Lawyer Rhodes, we are truly grateful for your help. If it weren’t for you, our little Tiana might have been taken by traffickers."

Judging by age, this gentleman was likely Samuel Langdon’s grandfather.

Talia said, "You’re too kind, sir. It was just a small effort."

"Lawyer Rhodes, don’t stand there, please take a seat," chuckled Samuel Langdon’s grandfather.

"Alright."

Talia pulled out a chair and sat down.

The table in the private room was large, accommodating ten people.

With little Tiana included, there were seven people in total in the room.

That left three empty seats.

Talia sat with empty seats on both sides.

Amanda gave Samuel a look, signaling him to move over and sit next to Talia.

Samuel shook his head in mild exasperation.

Talia noticed the odd atmosphere between them and slightly turned her head to ask, "What’s the matter, Lawyer Langdon?"

Among lawyers, they were accustomed to addressing each other in this manner.

Samuel adjusted his glasses and said calmly, "Nothing. My aunt just thinks we should sit together to facilitate work discussions. I think so too. Would you mind, Lawyer Rhodes?"

Talia smiled and said, "With a responsible partner like Lawyer Langdon, I couldn’t be happier. Why would I mind? Besides, I’ve been meaning to discuss the Solara case with you."

Samuel got up and sat next to Talia, "Alright, we’ll talk slowly."

Amanda sat nearby with a doting smile, watching Samuel and Talia sit together. Her eyes glinted with joy, and she murmured quietly to herself, "Such a perfect match."
