His soul-Chapter 535: Bloody night

Diego smiled broadly at his reflection in the large mirror in the walk-in closet, wearing a black tuxedo with a bow tie making him look so different tonight.

"One step closer," Diego muttered quietly as he felt his left chest which had been pounding so fast.

Gina and all the possessions she had inherited would be him, imagining how much money would be him made Diego’s smile widen.

"All the sacrifices you have made so far will pay off soon, Diego." Diego spoke to himself with a smile that never left his face.

Not wanting to make everyone wait, Diego immediately came out of his room. As soon as Diego left the room, he was immediately greeted by Charlie who told him the course of the event.

"So we’re going to exchange rings after dinner?" Diego repeated Charlie’s words.

Charlie nodded. "Yes, young master. That’s why now you can wait for Miss Gina to come down at the dining table."

"Can I follow Gina to my room?"

"Miss Gina is currently preparing with Miss Rosa and Miss Selena, it would be better if you stay at the dining table with Mr. Julian," replied Charlie politely.

"Oh so I’ll wait for Gina to come down with Daddy?"

"Yes."

Diego nodded his head slowly, without another word Diego immediately walked towards the dining room. Following Julian who was waiting for him at the dining table, from behind Charlie followed Diego to follow him to the dining table.

Because Gina hasn’t come down yet, Julian also invites Diego to talk about some small things related to Diego’s plans. Diego’s speech stopped when he heard the sound of footsteps from the stairs, Diego reflexively stopped his speech and turned towards the source of the sound. Seeing Gina approaching, Diego immediately got up from his chair. With hasty steps Diego approached Gina who had just come down the stairs.

"Gina." Diego said Gina’s name softly.

Gina who was looking down slowly raised her face, looking at Diego with teary eyes.

Diego smiled. "I’m not going to force you, Gina," Diego whispered softly next to her ear, barely audible. "We can still cancel it."

Gina was silent, her attention slowly falling on Julian who was sitting in the chair with Charlie. Seeing the face of her father who was smiling warmly at her made Gina unable to say no, Gina who had decided to follow her father’s wishes just shook her head slowly in response to Diego’s words.

"We can continue," Gina said quietly.

Diego’s eyes opened wide. "What, what are you talking about, Gina?"

"I don’t want to disappoint Daddy, so we can continue tonight before the main event tomorrow morning," Gina answered quietly, her voice shaking as she spoke. It was clear how hard Gina was trying to hold back tears.

Like winning the million dollar lottery, Diego’s eyes lit up at Gina’s words. Without hesitation, Diego immediately hugged Gina tightly. Getting the green light from Gina made Diego really, really happy.

"S-sorry Gina, I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to," Diego said panicked as he released his arms from Gina. "I was too happy to get out of control, you’re not mad at me, are you?"

Gina shook her head slowly, responding to Diego’s apology. Not wanting to make Gina stand for too long, Diego then invited Gina to walk to the dining table. Following Rosa and Selena who had sat down first. As soon as Gina sat down, Julian immediately reached out and squeezed Gina’s hands that were on her thighs gently.

"You’re all right, aren’t you, honey?" asked Julian in a half whisper.

Gina nodded slowly. "I’m fine, Daddy."

Julian smiled. "Thank God, believe me everything Daddy is doing is for your good. Daddy just wants to make sure you’re in the right hands and Diego is the right person and able to take care of you."

Gina nodded her head again, tonight her feelings were really very messed up. Gina really wanted to run as far as possible from where she is now, but seeing the smile on her father’s face the intention to run away disappeared. Gina decides to follow her father’s request by accepting this very unexpected match.

Since the maids had finished preparing the food, dinner began. Tonight was truly the happiest dinner for Diego, he didn’t stop smiling and continued to stare at Gina without blinking. When everyone was almost finished eating, suddenly there was a gunshot that was so deafening. Everyone who was sitting at the dining table immediately stopped their activities.

After saying that Charlie hurried off to the front yard where the gunshots had come from.

"Where are you going, Diego?" Selena asked worriedly.

"I want to come check up front," Diego answered quickly. "I need to know which bastard dared to barge into our house."

"Don’t mess with Diego, we don’t know who it is. You’d better stay in the house with us," Rosa said hoarsely. "Gina is pregnant, Diego. We have to think about her safety first."

Diego’s face turned red when he heard Rosa’s words, his gaze returned to Gina, who was clearly frightened. Even though she has lived for a long time with Massimo, who in fact is a mafia, Gina has never witnessed anyone fighting.

"What Rosa said is true, Diego. We have to think about Gina’s safety first." Julian followed Rosa’s words quickly. "You’d better get Gina to a safe place first."

"I’ll take you to the helicopter."
