His soul-Chapter 567: Bad mother

Martin squinted his eyes reading the paper that a nurse had just given him, before providing basic assistance to Diego’s wounds, the nurses in the emergency room had brought Diego to the CT-Scan room for an examination and now the results are in Martin’s hands.

"Explain to me, you bastard! How do I understand this," Martin growled, annoyed after realizing that he was like an idiot by reading the report given by a nurse earlier.

Thomas chuckled. "It’s not my fault, you took the paper yourself."

"Damn it, quickly read it to me," Martin replied curtly as he handed Thomas the paper in his hand.

Actually Thomas could have guessed Diego’s condition without having to do a CT-Scan first, but because he wanted to make it clearer he ordered the nurses to take Diego to the CT-Scan room.

"Diego’s two ribs are broken, he must immediately get action to save his life. It seems that Mr. Massimo was so powerful when he beat him," Thomas said quietly as he read Diego’s examination results to Martin.

"Why only two? Weird..."

"Martin," Thomas growled warningly. "Don’t be crazy, you must be able to control Mr. Massimo’s emotions. Currently Mr. Massimo is married, it would be very risky if Mr. kills someone. You have to pay attention to Mrs. Psychology too, especially now that she is pregnant."

Martin chuckled. "I’m just joking, Thom. Don’t get emotional, relax...everything is still within normal limits."

"What’s the threshold of fairness? How can you call it natural to break two ribs, huh! You’re the same as Master, both of you are very bad at controlling emotions," sneered Thomas, annoyed.

Martin’s laughter grew louder, it was very satisfying to see Thomas angry. And Thomas could only shake his head slowly, as a doctor he was very concerned about Diego’s current condition.

"So when can he be brought home immediately? Diego Alvarez is a prisoner not a VIP guest who has to linger in a comfortable place like a room in this hospital," Martin said quietly without guilt.

Thomas immediately clenched his jaw. "Seriously if I could break my doctor’s oath I’d really like to break both of your legs right now, Martin."

"Hahaha...Thomas...Thomas... you really can’t be joking around, I’m only joking, Thom. It’s like you don’t know me," Martin replied with a laugh that sounded so loud.

"Believing in your words is the greatest folly and I will not be deceived once again."

Martin quickly wiped his tears. "Ok..ok.. we’re done with this conversation, now I’m asking seriously. Does this mean that Diego has to be operated on immediately?"

"Must, because otherwise he won’t be able to survive."

Martin nodded his head. "How long will it take you to help him?"

"I can’t really estimate, it’s definitely going to be more than an hour," said Thomas seriously.

"Ok, I’ll contact Mr. Massimo first then. I can’t make up my own mind, especially regarding Diego, the person Mr Massimo really wants to kill."

"Martin!"

Martin immediately raised his hands up when he heard Thomas’ shout, because he didn’t want to make Thomas more upset, Martin chose to contact Massimo to report Diego’s condition which was quite serious.

As long as Martin was talking to Massimo, Thomas was just a good listener, he chose not to talk even though at this time Massimo would definitely be able to hear his voice because Martin turned on the loudspeaker so he could hear what they were talking about. Thomas took several deep breaths as Massimo spoke lightly to make Diego suffer longer with his pain, Massimo’s cruelty that he had thought was gone now reappeared.

"Okay sir, I’ll pass your message on to Thomas," Martin said quietly as Massimo finished his conversation.

Massimo only cleared his throat in response to Martin’s words before finally hanging up Martin’s call.

So sure that Massimo had hung up the phone, Martin then turned his face to Thomas who had been standing where he had been.

"You’ve heard for yourself what Mr Massimo wants, haven’t you?"

Thomas took a deep breath. "You really are as crazy as Mr Massimo, well you’d better not bother me anymore. I’ll get ready to operate on Diego."

"Very well, dear doctor Thomas, I will not disturb you." Martin teased Thomas on purpose.

Realizing that he had to work quickly, Thomas immediately went back into Diego’s treatment room to order the nurses to prepare Diego and the operating room.

Martin himself chose to stay in the park to rest and let the rest of his men follow Diego who will be taken to the operating room, Martin believes that Thomas will help him secure Diego. Although Thomas is a doctor who is obliged to save the lives of patients, Thomas is also part of Massimo’s men. That’s why Martin entrusted Diego to Thomas for a while and he could rest for a while to regain his strength before continuing his work.

Selena and Rosa’s steps felt heavy when they were following a policewoman who was guiding them to the place where Vanessa was, after taking Patricia back to the hotel the two girls then went to the police station to meet their mother. The reason is that since Vanessa was forcibly brought home by Massimo’s men to Barcelona to account for her actions, the two of them have never met her mother.

"Wait here, the defendant will come soon," said the policewoman who had just escorted them in a friendly manner.

"The defendant, has his status been raised?" stammered Selena.

"All the available evidence makes Mrs. Vanessa’s status raised, Miss. Likewise with our other escaped prisoner, Diego Alvarez. His status has also been increased," the policewoman answered quietly.

Because she still had to continue her duties, the policewoman then left Selena and Rosa who were waiting in a special room, where they could meet and talk to Vanessa. Even so, they couldn’t touch because there was a large bullet-proof glass that became the barrier between where Selena and Rosa were sitting and where Vanessa was.

Not long after, the sound of footsteps approaching was heard. Immediately, Selena and Rosa became increasingly uneasy, especially when Vanessa and two female police officers appeared from behind the door in front of them.

"Mommy," said Rosa choked when she saw her mother walking closer, Vanessa’s condition looked bad. In prison clothes, the luxurious and glamorous impression that had been attached to Vanessa immediately disappeared. Vanessa even looks much older than her current age, cries too much and doesn’t use all the expensive make-up that has been her loyal friend, making Vanessa look like an ordinary woman in general.

Vanessa who was looking down immediately lifted her face when she heard Rosa’s voice, her eyes immediately widened when she saw her two daughters sitting in the room across from her.

"You only have ten minutes, so make the best use of that time," said the policewoman who had just forced the rebellious Vanessa down, seeing her two daughters come made Vanessa’s emotions flare up.

After saying that the two policewomen then left Vanessa to give her privacy.

Vanessa immediately landed her palms on the large glass in front of her with all her might. Selena and Rosa, who didn’t expect to see their mother do that, almost fell from the chair they were sitting in because they were so shocked, they even held hands with each other to maintain balance.

"What are you guys doing here? Who ordered you to come here? Julian or Gina, that damn bastard?" Vanessa immediately threw her scathing sentence so cruelly.

Rosa tightened her grip on her hand, her chest tightened suddenly because she heard her mother’s cruel words.

"We want to see Mommy, Daddy and Gina don’t even know we’re both here," Selena said quietly, trying not to be provoked by her mother’s furious anger.

Vanessa laughed heartily at Selena’s words. "Looks like you two have fallen for that bastard’s trick, huh? You have to hide like this."

"Please Mom..."

"Please what, Rosa? You have always denied Mommy, you always fought Mommy and chose to be by your stupid father’s side," Vanessa said curtly, cutting Rosa’s words.

"Daddy’s not stupid," Selena said quickly. "Daddy’s just too nice, Daddy chooses to stay silent when Mommy does bad things time and time again."

"You don’t know anything, what feels the cruelty of Julian Sanders and his parents is me not the two of you. You don’t know how evil Yohanes Sanders was at that time, his cruel mouth hurt me every day. Just because I didn’t give birth to a son for Julian at the time, Yohanes repeated his painful cursing. You were young when I was struggling in that painful life, so don’t talk nonsense."

Vanessa’s face reddened as she spoke, remembering her dark past while serving the Sanders family for many years made Vanessa furious.

I’m the one who suffers the most if you know," Vanessa said freely, continuing the lie she had told before to break Selena’s trust and Rosa to Julian.

Rosa tightened her grip on Selena’s hand, she was immediately disturbed by Vanessa’s words. While Selena seemed much calmer, as someone who knew her mother’s tricks very well, Selena didn’t believe what Vanessa had just said. Vanessa still remembers how gentle her grandma and grandpa were to her when she was little and it was the complete opposite of what her mother had just said.

Feeling successful, Vanessa then continued her action by pretending to cry. "You are my biological children, the two children born from my womb. I risked my life to give birth to you and take care of you to adulthood, but now that you are an adult it is what you gave me. It was betrayal and such cruel judgment that you gave me in return for everything. the sacrifices that I have given my whole life to both of you...sob..."

"Everything Mommy said was Mommy’s sacrifice for Diego, Mommy only protected Diego with all your soul," Selena said quietly. "Not for the both of us, Mommy didn’t do anything for us. Because since we were little, Grandma has taken care of us."

"You..."

"Even on my first day in kindergarten, Grandma and Grandpa were with me, as well as when I was in elementary school, so stop making up false stories that brought down Grandma and Grandpa whom Mommy killed so cruelly." Selena spoke again, continuing her previous words in a trembling voice. "Mommy has the heart to kill people who have given shelter and fed Mommy and Diego who were already bankrupt at the time."

"Selena Flor Sanders! Watch your words...you were just a child, you have no right to talk to me like that. To your biological mother!!!" Vanessa screamed with emotion. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Selina smiled. "You are our biological mother, but you don’t treat us like biological children. All you care about is Diego, Diego and Diego. While the two of us are only used as tools to enrich yourself by trying to match us to rich families."

Vanessa’s intention to answer Selena’s words was stopped when two female police officers who previously took her out of the detention room came back into the room, without speaking both of them grabbed Vanessa’s arm and forced her to get up from the chair where she was sitting. Vanessa, who still didn’t want to leave, then shouted again, issuing harsh swear words aimed at Selena and Rosa who were still sitting in their chairs with shocked and sad faces.

"Selena..."

"Calm down, Rosa. Everything Mommy said about Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa was a lie, Mommy made up stories to bring them down," Selena said softly trying to calm Rosa who seemed so affected by Vanessa’s words. "Daddy loves us very much, you must remember that well."
