Chapter 325: He Blushed.

Nicklaus walked over to the Knewman couple ward the moment he arrived at the hospital. The call between himself and his wife continued even when he walked into the elevator.

He kept on staring at his phone all through, replying to her little questions or asking his. Most people who saw him walk past them for the first time were more stunned when they saw his expression soft. Not even on the media have they seen him having such a soft expression and since he kept on starting on his cell phone, they assumed it had something to do with the dismissal of his father-in-law into the world of the convicts.

Stepping out of the elevator, he met with Diego. Diego’s heart skipped a beat when his master walked past him.

His expression turned pre-relaxed as he wondered what could have happened that could be strong enough to make Nicklaus appear in person. He immediately followed behind Nicklaus.

Barely taking two steps behind his boss, he halted at Nicklaus’s order, "Do not follow me in,"

At his order, Nicklaus opened the door to the couple’s VIP ward lobby and walked in. Arissa’s eyes lit up immediately and the sparkles that flashed across them when she saw Nicklaus would be enough to beat the brightness in the city that evening.

Ever since he walked into the hospital, she had been impatiently waiting for him and now he walked towards her, she did not wait anymore.

She stood up from her squatting position and stared at him. Nicklaus placed his phone into his pant pocket and pulled her into a gentle hug from her waist.

He placed a deep kiss in the center of her head and held her tight, not giving space for air to pass between them.

"I missed you," Arissa said, her voice laced with yearning as she wrapped her hands on his shoulders from his back.

Nicklaus held her like one precious gem and said, "I missed you too,"

Arissa pulled her face a little away from his chest and peeked up at his face. Her hands reached for his face and she caressed him softly, saying, "Don’t say too. To me, it feels like you don’t mean it but you just have to say it back,"

Nicklaus smiled at her, "You know that isn’t the case. I did mean it," he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her lips.

Arissa shut her eyes and when he pulled away, she parted her eyes. She gazed deeply into his eyes, "I know you meant it. I said that in case of next time,"

Nicklaus came close, so close that their noses touched and they breathed the other’s air. The intimate way in which he held her and the way he stared down at her caused butterflies to fly around her stomach.

"Noted," he agreed to her words, "I missed you." and before Arissa could take in another breath, he crashed their lips together and took her breath away.

As he had promised her over the phone, he kissed her gently but with a touch of roughness lingering around the kiss.

His hand held her hips firmly and he led her to the wall. Her back softly collided with the wall and when that happened, Nicklaus paused for a moment and stared into her eyes.

Arissa averted her gaze when he stared into her eyes. She wanted more of the kiss but if the kiss should continue, things would escalate between them and surely, someone must walk in on them, and for her, that was the last thing she needed.

She lifted her eyes to him. Standing on her tiptoe, she placed a tender kiss filled with fondness on his trimmed jawline.

"Let’s go in," she said after pulling away.

Nicklaus did not let go of her. He pressed her body on his and requested, "One more,"

Arissa bit her inner gum. She looked away, staring at the door to make sure no one walked in on them. Saying a short prayer for that not to happen, she shut her eyes and planted another kiss on that same spot.

However, like an addict, he wasn’t satisfied. Using one hand to hold her waist, he used the other to rub the spot she kissed and his lips curled into a small smile.

"More, one last time,"

Arissa shook her head stubbornly, "No, Nick. Now’s not the time for us to do that. Let’s go in first," she cautioned, about to walk away and that was when Nicklaus did something she never expected and would never have dreamt of.

He stared back at her, this time with puppy eyes. In shock, Arissa pulled away from him but Nicklaus held her waist to keep her steady.

Having no other choice, she had to stay still and stare at Nicklaus with her mouth wide open. She was speechless down to her bone marrow.

Currently, now, Nicklaus was akin to a child denied candy, which was impossible because he was no kid but a powerful CEO who could get any amount of candy he wished for.

"Please," he murmured, staring at her with his once-usual penetrating freezing black orbs no longer so controlling but now cute.

Arissa tried to find back her laugh but that was impossible as in the next second, she burst out laughing. fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm

Nicklaus waited patiently.

She lifted her both hands to the sides of his cheeks and pinched him softly. This action made him remember her drunk night and how that night turned out to be the first time he kissed someone.

"You’re so cute," Arissa admired with all smiles.

Nicklaus’s face fell immediately at her choice of words to admire him with. It made him drop his puppy eyes and stare at her in surprise.

"Cute?"

Arissa nodded, "Yes cute_ ah," she gasped all of a second and placed her both palms over her mouth. Nicklaus who had felt a strange new emotion in him that traveled up to his face when she called him cute could only watch his wife in confusion.

Parting his lips to say something, Arissa beat him to it, saying, "You blushed,"

At her words, Nicklaus frozed.

He blushed. What the hell was she saying or better still, what the hell had she done to him?
