Chapter 190: Lady Ira’s downfall!

"Lady Ira, it is the claim of the court that you are the one behind Dominic’s dismissal. It wasn’t any accidental death but an intentional murder." King Vilas gave his statement in front of the court with his raised chin.

At the same time, Lady Ira was standing in the middle of the large court. She could hear whispers around amidst the members of the courtroom. All they discussed was about the blame which King Vilas put upon her head.

However, she was totally clueless. Just in the morning, she heard that King Vilas would like to see her in the courtroom. It didn’t surprise her at that moment because she simply believed that it must be an illusion of her mind. King Vilas must have summoned her since this was the first court session held after Dominic’s death. Moreover, thinking that his beloved daughter will also take part in the same, she didn’t mind that he wanted a company for her.

However, it really stuck on her face in the worst manner. Her radiated eyes evidently appeared to shock her and how difficult it became for her to absorb the situation. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"I-I... this is false! How can I do anything to our dear Prince! That is impossible for anyone to say!" Lady Ira instantly reacted upon reaching up to her senses.

She took a step back, showing her frozen expressions which were lined with sorrow, "I never had a son. For me, Crowned Prince Dominic was like my own child. Since our Queen’s death, I was the one who raised him!"

"And now the members of the courtroom are saying that I have killed my own son? How ridiculous!?" Lady Ira didn’t show even a trace of unjustification.

It simply illustrated with her brain that gaining sympathy will be the perfect plan. Moreover, she expected that there would least chance to obtain proof against her crime.

Yet, she had committed many flaws too...

King Vilas spared her glance before he deviated his eyes back to the council members, "Members, since the lady isn’t accepting her crime, I want our Princess Alice to come forward and support the statement."

"Allowed!"

King Vilas, who sat on his throne which was placed upstairs, raised his hands which let the door of the courtroom to open. They all saw the opening of the doors by the soldiers and their fooy, the princess Alice.

She held neutral expressions but her eyes were deeper than them. She bowed at first glance to King and the rest of the members before taking her side.

"Members, I stand with my words that it is Lady Ira who has killed my brother. I don’t doubt my words and I have the proof to support my claim as well." Alice said.

"Princess Alice, you are requested to go ahead with the proof." Another member commented.

Alice took the nod before she retired her eyes to glance at the door. The soldiers brought another soldier who wasn’t in his good condition. "This soldier will like to tell you something serious."

At this moment, Lady Ira’s eyes bulged. She recognized the face too well. ’Wait.. will he speak against me? Don’t tell me.. Alice..’

Her heart started to thumb against her chest and everyone waited for the soldier to finally open his mouth.

As the wounded soldier took a deep breath, he finally said, "I-I.. want to tell... that.. it was.. me, wh-who helped Lady Ira... in executing her plan..."

"How did you assist her? What did Lady Ira do?" Alice questioned with a stern voice.

The soldier trembled a bit but the rest of the soldier held him by his biceps, "S-she.. asked me.. to deliver a letter... That letter held something in it and.. it brought Prince’s health to detroit."

"What was it? Do you know?"

"I have no idea but I-I.. think.. it.. was a poison." The man muttered and this was enough for the rest of the members to hear.

They all once again started to whisper within themselves and embarrassed Ira. She couldn’t match her eyes with anyone present out there.

But her anger rose deeply. The anxiety took on her head when she yelled, "Lie! An absolute lie! You are making stories!"

"W-why will.. I do that?"

"B-because... you Have been told to do so! Do you take me as an idiot who will believe whatever you say?" Lady Ira didn’t show any accepting nature.

It was close to her race because she didn’t commit such a crime and won’t take the blame on her head for something which she hadn’t done.

However, Alice had seen her closely. She didn’t tear her eye from the murdder as she said, "Why did you work for her? Is there anything in return?"

Alice’s questions held enough power and the soldier lowered his head. He was purely ashamed of his crime but the deed was already carried out. The other soldiers were disregarding him and he had been pushed in the worst case of being found out.

But his silence disturbed Alice, "I ASKED SOMETHING!"

"L-lady Ira promised to pay for my daughter’s marriage. She also lended me... this..." The soldier brought out a piece of necklace from his pocket.

As everyone’s eyes gazed at the shining jewelry, there was no doubt left in anyone’s mind to know who it belonged to.

But Alice made it extremely happy. She turned her face towards the King, "Everyone who worked for the soldier’s daughter’s wedding recognized Lady Ira’s personal maid, who had given money for all the celebrations and occasions held. The witness is no one else but the councilor who went along with me and verified this."

On Alice Explanation, the counselor rose from his seat to pass the nod to everyone.

While some were already blessed with the drama, Lady Ira could feel her legs shaking worse.

There was no doubt she thought that Alice would go on such a deep investigation for her brother. But her will to give wasn’t so easy.

"It is possible that Alice has bought everyone with coins!" Lady Ira finally told others.

But to this, Alice smirked when she viewed Lady Ira with her dangerous intentions, "I have bought the people? Lady Ira, wait and watch before I show you mirror very soon."
