Chapter 45- The Rise (Part 3)

"We need to move immediately; they’re about to scout the entire area searching for us," Rein said as he rushed back to Violet and Teo.

"What are we going to do?" She asked as she peeked at the doors of the warehouse. She could see it open as men rushed out in a hurry.

"We will try to sneak inside the warehouse. They should be heading to the entrance as we’re speaking. Even if they leave some guards back, we can easily infiltrate if we kill them." Rein said. "I will pave the path. Just follow me and only move when I signal you to, understood?"

"Ok..."

"I-I will do exactly that!"

Rein nodded his head as he moved ahead and checked the situation out there. Naturally, all the agents came out when they heard the gunshots. It seemed to be a clear order from Virgo to move when there is a sign of Rein anywhere near the warehouse.

’You still fear me. Just like the old days.’ Rein scoffed at the attitude of these people. Virgo was still the same coward; he knew who hid behind his playful nature to pretend he was in control of things. That was his biggest strength and also his worst weakness. When someone discovers that he truly isn’t in control, all his charm flips against him, and he finds himself.

Rein knew that weakness more than anyone else, and he was planning to use it fully to his advantage. Fear, in Rein’s book, was someone’s greatest strength and greatest weakness. Fear makes you anticipate danger, and it also cripples you when it takes over you.

’Knowing that bastard. He is probably on his last nerve now.’ Rein thought to himself. Checking his surroundings, Rein started moving through the shadows, slowly mapping the area while getting closer and closer to the warehouse.

At the same time, Violet and Teo followed him silently. Their faces couldn’t hide the worry and fear as they barely dodged the groups of agents roaming the area.

However, surprisingly, each time they thought they would be discovered, they would end up barely remaining hidden. It was as if Rein knew exactly when they needed to move and could predict every move the agents would make.

Eventually, they found themselves behind the warehouse, with the stairs that led to the second floor’s door before them. However, they were naturally guarded with several agents who were trying to contact the others and remain aware of everything happening.

’Hmm, it’s time to try my new ability. Spatial Arrows.’ He thought to himself. This was possibly the easiest way to take these agents down.

So, Rein started channeling his Essence before he lifted his hand up in the air. Slowly, two blue energy arrows started forming above his head, hovering quietly as they pulsed with sheer energy.

The two arrows kept growing longer and more vibrant.

’I can completely control where they go.’ He focused on the targets silently before he suddenly moved his hand.

*Swish*

The two arrows flew at immense speed, cutting through the air with ease as they got lodged into the two men’s foreheads... Instantly killing them as they dropped to the ground, spilling blood everywhere.

"Wo-" Teo almost yelled from excitement, seeing what just happened.

"Shhh.." Violet quickly shut him off before he exposed their position. Then, Rein signaled for them to start following him.

The group ascended the stairs silently. Rein stopped at the door and opened it slowly as he peeked inside. Almost instantly, he saw two silhouettes moving through the floor. Instantly, he closed the door as he looked at Violet and Teo. Then, he signaled with his hand, knowing he could not speak or they would find them.

’Stay here. I will clear the floor, and then you can walk in.’ He thought to himself.

Then, he slowly opened the door again as he snuck inside. The agents were on the other side, moving around with their weapons in their hands.

’If I only knew the map of this place. Finding Violet’s family would be way easier.’ He thought to himself. The warehouse was surprisingly massive, with several corridors, countless doors, and a main open area downstairs.

Moving through this place was going to be rough when he could not chance getting exposed. But this was but another day at the job for Rein. He had done these kinds of missions countless times before.

’I will find you, bastard.’

***

Somewhere in the warehouse, inside one of the many rooms. Cain, his wife, his daughter, and Alex, were all tied and imprisoned. They had been brought here against their will, and while they didn’t understand what was happening, Cain tried to keep his wife and daughter as calm as possible.

With his mouth closed and his arms and legs completely tied, all he could do was slide next to them as he hummed to them.

Emily was crying silently as she snuggled with her mother, while Victoria herself was barely keeping her calm as she stared at the door.

"Mmmm!!! Mmmmm!!!"

Alex, on the other hand, didn’t seem afraid whatsoever... Instead, the anger and hatred in his eyes were burning endlessly. He tried countless times to break through the ropes, even trying to dislocate his wrist just so he could get it out.

However, Virgo knew that he was capable of doing that, and so he tied the knot extremely tightly around his wrists and legs to the point where his limbs turned blue from the lack of blood flow.

’I will kill that bastard! I will fucking kill him!!’

He grumbled as he tried to break the knot again and again. ’Violet needs me! Fuck! I just need to break this thing!!’ He cursed as he looked at the door.

As they were like that, the door suddenly opened, and a man walked in.

"Good evening." Virgo walked in with a nice smile on his face. The moment she saw him, Emily flinched as she hid behind her mother while Cain and Alex glared at him.

"Hey, hey, why the strong looks now? If there are any complaints, you can voice them. I’m here."

"..."

"Oooh, sorry, you can’t speak. Your mouths are closed shut." Virgo laughed at his own joke before he looked at Alex. "Your little friends are here. They have snuck their way into the district. Hmmm, I would guess they would be here in a bit, trying to save you. But, you know what’s so funny about all of this..." Virgo said as he walked to the corner and pulled a chair before he sat down on it, facing the family.

"They are here to save you, and for that, they are ready to do anything... Even die." Virgo said with a scary grin. "Had they not done this for love... They could’ve lived way longer. They could’ve become way stronger using this system. Yet, they are ready to throw it all for you. How touching indeed."

"..."

"Oh well, I was going to keep Violet alive for my own benefit. But, I’m now in a bad mood, and she had done enough to piss me off. I hope you don’t take this to heart. I will make sure you don’t miss her for too long~"
