Chapter 634: Chapter 178: The Raven’s Authority

Perhaps there are coincidences in this world, but for the Witch, who loves to toy with others, Ian felt it was hardly a coincidence.

Of course.

Since Witch Morgan had proactively shifted the topic, the guilty-feeling Ian was more than happy to comply. He quickly followed Morgan’s lead and took out his Money Bag to retrieve The Mirror of Erised.

He had this Magic Mirror for quite some time, yet he rarely ever brought it out—though many might get lost in it, wasting days in front of the mirror, obsessed with what they see, even driven to madness. But that’s all because people don’t know if what they see in the mirror could ever come true.

Ian was different.

Maybe it’s the confidence given by the system, or perhaps he’s naturally "arrogant," but he had no doubts or dilemmas about the future, firmly believing that whether any goal can be achieved depends solely on whether he wants to do it.

With such a mindset.

The Mirror of Erised, of course, did not have much appeal to him.

"Your mirror, teacher, is finally returned to its rightful owner." The Little Wizard gently placed the mirror in front, with its surface smooth as glass yet seemingly holding endless depth.

The Alchemy marks shining within it seemed capable of penetrating one’s soul.

"I didn’t expect you to really find it... or maybe you always knew you could." Morgan first glanced at Ian, then walked to the Mirror of Erised and gazed into its surface.

No one knew what she saw.

The Little Wizard just noticed that the smile on the face of this Legendary Black Witch was particularly rich.

"Reflecting the deepest desires of one’s heart can sometimes be a different kind of cruelty." She suddenly remarked calmly.

"The mind of its creator must indeed be somewhat dark." Ian wholeheartedly agreed, seeing as both Harry and Dumbledore had been tormented by this mirror in the original timeline, unable to escape.

It’s a bit reminiscent of the Magic Sea something eagle.

"Do you know who made this mirror?" Morgan smiled without speaking, only lightly asking, her hand gently stroking the mirror as if recalling something.

This Magic Mirror was taller than even Hagrid.

At the bottom of the mirror, two lifelike claw-shaped feet supported the entire mirror body, making it more stable and adding a touch of mystery and majesty.

"Eris?"

The Little Wizard blinked and blurted back.

These non-textbook historical things are sometimes like math.

Not knowing is not knowing.

In fact, perhaps even the learned Dumbledore knew very little about it, having merely taken it out from somewhere in Hogwarts that Ian had never found.

Generations of Hogwarts teachers often brought back interesting trinkets from their travels, and perhaps few knew how the Mirror of Erised came to Hogwarts.

"Oh, my naive apprentice, your way of interpreting the Mirror of Erised’s name is truly amusing." Upon hearing Ian’s answer, Morgan immediately burst into laughter.

"The word Erised is merely describing its function to the user. Why haven’t you tried reading Erised backwards?"

"A mirror will always present things in reverse, won’t it?" With just a hint from Morgan, the not-so-dense Ian immediately looked embarrassed, as if he suddenly realized something.

"Mirror of Desire?"

Perhaps this was the true name of the Mirror of Erised. The word "Erised" engraved on the Mirror of Erised, when reversed, directly reads as the word "Desire."

It implies yearning.

Just like the magical nature of this mirror that reflects inner desires.

"Yes, exactly, the Mirror of Desire." Morgan softly murmured, lifting her hand again to gently caress the mirror surface, her somewhat sentimental tone filled with an indescribable feeling.

"It may truly have a special magic power, even though I scoff at the scenes it presents, it indeed carries a secret I’ve longed all my life to unravel."

The Legendary Black Witch’s exquisite face rarely showed a hint of regret.

"May I be fortunate enough to know this secret?"

Ian tentatively opened his mouth to inquire.

However,

Morgan merely glanced at him.

"No."

Her answer was straightforward and direct.

"..."

Ian didn’t quite know how to carry on the conversation.

"Well, since it’s your privacy, I’m not the kind of person without boundaries." Ian could only respond with an awkward smile, voicing his inner speculation.

"In any case, I suppose you must have already resolved your inner doubts, for you once said it didn’t matter if it could be found or not, clearly it no longer holds much importance to you."

Ian had reasons for this view, not just from Morgan’s previous attitude towards the Mirror of Erised, but also because Morgan once had her maliciously beautiful senior sister steal this Magic Mirror.

If not for letting go of her obsession.

Morgan would hardly leave it adrift outside.

"Indeed, the answer has always been right before my eyes... crystal clear." Morgan once again turned to look at Ian, her bright eyes reflecting the image of the Little Wizard.

"Uh..."

Ian felt that his teacher was better at pretending than he was, and it seemed quite reasonable.

"I remember you saying it had other uses?" Ian, not liking to see others pretend, immediately chose to shift the topic cunningly.
