"I a-m glad you are safe" Shizuka said in a shuddering tone as Kaneki could also feel that she was also shedding tears even though he had no eyes at the back of his head still with his sharp ears he could pick up the sound of tears when it dropped on the ground

Shizuka even though she might be acting like she has confidence that Kaneki will return back to her without any injuries still it was only a show in order not to let them worry

Since she dont wanna let them worry about her considering the fact that right at that moment they need to be cautious as much as possible

Not to mention there is a small girl with them and if she breaks down then who will take care of her especially in this situation

Which is the reason she hardened her heart and made sure not to show worries and shed tears on her face and lastly also put a smile on her face even though all of them were easily able to tell that Shizuka was wearing a fake smile

But it changed all the moment she saw Kaneki well as she wasn’t able to contain her emotions anymore as she rushed towards him with tears in her eyes but this time tears weren’t of sadness but happiness for him returning back to her safely

Meanwhile, others are watching this scene with heartwarming gazes since everyone knows that Shizuka was very worried for Kaneki which is the reason they are waiting instead of going to him

Even Alice who is nothing but a child anymore knows it’s better not to go now as she waits with everyone else but she is also relieved to see her superhero come back safely

Inwardly she couldn’t help but smirk thinking that what she told was the truth as she couldn’t wait to tell them that she was right all along

"Big brother, you are back!" Alice said this in a happy tone and she came and showed a big smile on her face as she was really happy to see him come back

"Hmph you took sl much time coming back" Saya said this in a tsunadere as she folded her arms and tried not to look in his eyes

But anyone can tell that she didnt mean what she said as she is happy to know that he is back, unfortunately she has a habit of not being honest with herself

"I am glad you are back safely" Rei said this Unlike Saya she did not have such a problem as she genuinely showed a happy face as she was happy to see Kaneki come back safely

"I am happy for your safe return but before anything else, we should go inside first" Saeko said this as even though she was happy to see Kaneki back but unlike others she knows this is no place to ask such questions or have a conversation which is why she suggested this

Kaneki and others agreed as Saeko and others were too happy that they almost forgot that they were in a zombie apocalypse, but now Saeko’s words bring them back to reality as they realise that what Saeko said is necessary right now

It was only luck that even though they make so much noise still no zombie has shown themselves but they dont know how long that luck will last
