Chapter 148: Chapter 103: Treatment of a Genius (Part 2)

At this moment, Lawson didn’t even wait for the other youth training drivers to arrive before he started discussing the main plans for the upcoming period with Qin Miao, showing that he truly values Qin Miao.

However, after saying that, Lawson’s tone changed: "Although you now have the ability to compete for the championship in the GT3 category, and you are even capable of driving Hyper cars, I’m sure there are teams in that category who would want you. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

But I still suggest you try Formula racing. If you perform well, I have confidence in securing an F2 seat for you.

I’m not saying Le Mans is bad, I just think your talent shines even brighter in Formula racing compared to Le Mans."

Initially, when Lawson mentioned that he could join the GT3 team, Qin Miao was already tempted, and even the idea of driving a Hyper car excited Qin Miao for a moment.

Qin Miao originally thought of saying he would just directly go for GT3, but as soon as he heard Lawson say he could help strive for an F2 seat, Qin Miao became invigorated.

Having experienced F4, F3, and F2, Qin Miao clearly understands that Formula cars, which are designed purely for the track, offer more driving fun than GT3. He came to Ferrari also wanting to drive F2 for a few seasons.

Now that the opportunity is laid bare in front of Qin Miao, how could he not be excited?

"Which F2 team exactly? Can you give me a hint?" Qin Miao eagerly asked.

Lawson shrugged helplessly: "I don’t know right now, because many F2 teams don’t know much about a talent like you. Although your performance during the Prema Racing tests was amazing, at that time you were driving an F3, and Prema is just as competitive in F3.

They have many strong drivers, so it seems they didn’t pay too much attention to you. In my recent calls with the Prema Racing team’s manager, they haven’t inquired about you.

That’s why you need to make a stunning impression in this internal test.

By then, let’s see which F2 teams are interested in you. I’m sure your girlfriend will receive quite a few calls by then."

Qin Miao understood that everything hinges on the actual performance on the race track, but he was still curious and asked: "Can I ask what type of car we’ll be driving during the race?"

By rights, such information should not be disclosed, but Lawson had no reticence: "If you participate in the Formula race, you’ll be given an F3, and before the race starts you have a day to adjust your car. You can either find someone to help tune the vehicle or seek help from our Ferrari engineers."

"If you want to go for Le Mans, there are more options available. We can provide cars from several categories."

...

Qin Miao arrived too early, so much so that after Lawson finished saying what he wanted to express, the time hadn’t even reached 11 AM while the other drivers were still training.

After their conversation, Qin Miao was left idly in Lawson’s office, waiting for the arrival of the other drivers.

Seeing Qin Miao tinkering with his phone out of boredom, Lawson asked curiously, "What do you usually do with this free time after finishing your training volume?"

Hearing this question, Qin Miao involuntarily thought of Qin’s face and snacks, and after pondering he said: "It depends. If there’s nothing much, I’ll go home to spend time with my girlfriend, and more often, I’ll visit the F1 team’s factory."

At this, Lawson’s eyes flashed with an unusual color: "Well, you can leave first and take care of your things."

Qin Miao was taken aback: "Aren’t we going to have a meeting?"

Lawson waved his hand: "I’ve already told you what we will discuss in the meeting, the only thing left is me giving some advice to other young drivers, which I believe you already have the answers to. Besides, you don’t get along with them, keeping you here would make you uncomfortable.

Genius has some privileges, so off you go..."

Qin Miao naturally disliked attending meetings, and now that Lawson had excused him, he was more than happy to enjoy the peace.

However, even though he got the chance to rest today, Qin Miao decided not to go find Qin and snack as he initially planned, but instead was preparing to head directly home.

It’s worth mentioning, as he left Lawson’s office, Qin Miao saw a familiar face who was not quite a friend while walking down the stairs.

Mick Schumacher, the son of Michael Schumacher.

His status within Ferrari is genuinely of royal stature because many high-ranking officials in Ferrari are well-acquainted or even closely connected with his father.

Qin Miao’s first impression of him wasn’t good since, when Zhou Guanyu was still in Ferrari’s youth training, Mick, as a teammate, directly knocked Zhou out of the track during an F2 race, costing Zhou the podium, without facing any penalties afterward.

Since this incident, Zhou and Mick Schumacher had a falling out, which also led to Zhou Guanyu leaving Ferrari.

Therefore, naturally, due to his good relationship with Zhou Guanyu, Qin Miao held a negative perception of Mick after learning of this matter. Coupled with the exclusion from other Ferrari youth training drivers, his feeling toward Mick worsened.

Naturally, upon seeing him, Qin Miao maintained his usual attitude toward other Ferrari youth training drivers, which was to directly ignore them like passing strangers.

As for Mick, he was not surprised to see Qin Miao, but he was truly amazed by why was Qin Miao walking outside when the meeting was about to begin. Even if he needed to go to the bathroom, this was not the direction he should be heading in.

However, Qin Miao clearly had no intention of addressing Mick’s confusion, he directly went downstairs, hopped onto a pink-blue electric scooter, and zoomed away.

This electric scooter was bought by Qimeng, originally meant to be a convenient way for her to get groceries, but this handy means of transport caught Qin Miao’s eye at once.

Riding this is much more convenient than driving Qin Miao’s 488, for one, he doesn’t have to worry about parking space, and for another, it’s easy to use—just stand on it, twist the throttle, and off it goes. Plus, it’s light, so when the battery runs out, he can carry it home to charge, making it his choice for short trips.

Returning home, Qin Miao immediately embarked on his journey to build familiarity with the American circuit.

Qin Miao’s setup was comprised of simulator equipment available on the market, but since it was prepared by Ferrari, the original logo of the brand had been replaced by Ferrari’s logo. However, the simulator’s performance and specifications were the same as what could be purchased outside.

Unlike before, the software Qin Miao was using now wasn’t ACC anymore, but a personal version of the simulator developed by Ferrari.

Compared to the regular team version, the personal version had many functions cut out. It had to be, as otherwise, a regular home computer couldn’t handle this software.

Moreover, a driver’s personal practice simulator doesn’t require so many data features.

Frankly, this simulator wasn’t vastly different from Assetto Corsa since the race maps looked identical, the difference lies in how well the simulator can demonstrate the characteristics and details of Ferrari’s supercars and F1 cars.

At this moment, Qin Miao’s familiarity with the American circuit had reached 17, with the next goal being simply to brush it up to 100, in order to complete the final piece for the Purple Lottery’s ten-draw before the race starts and enhance his prowess significantly with it.
