Chapter 192 - Kidnapception ƒ𝓇e𝙚𝔀𝐞𝚋𝓃𝐨𝘷e𝙡.𝒄𝗼m

It can be said that Tristan and Arteria are equally responsible for my door's untimely demise.

I might have to think about what to do with Arteria, but at least I can take my revenge on Tristan today.

That aside, it's almost 9 pm now. I was supposed to be at the Old Blood Guild this evening, but the matter with Lecia held me up.

Hmm, let's wrap everything up by 10 and then head there.

10 in the night is a bit late, of course, but I promised them (metaphorically) that I would come to their Guild today.

And Samur Eckart is a man of his word.

I'll go to the Old Blood Guild today, no matter the cost.

Hmm? What do you mean I'm doing it just because I don't want to deal with the fuckers back at the New Dawn Guild?

Please don't needlessly blame me, okay? It's hurtful, okay?

"That aside, your organisation is pretty big, eh?"

"What makes you think that?" Tristan asked.

"Just look at how many people they sent with you. Given that Lecia is not at the top of their priority list, it's impossible that these were all of their troops. So it only makes sense that the organisation is huge."

"Lecia is… not at the top of our priority list?" Tristan furrowed his brows.

Is he just faking it (just like I pretend having a will to live I mean just like most women do when they're having sex) or is he genuinely curious?

"I mean, yeah? Lecia's skill is pretty useful, I admit, but it's not something ground-breaking, nor can it do something like change the flow of the war. It heals pretty nicely but it has a lot of restrictions. Even if we put that aside, the fact that they chose this hideout instead of their HQ to protect Lecia is enough proof."

Hmm, now that I think about it, even though we were rescuing our comrade who had been kidnapped, if we look at it from another point of view, we were also kidnapping Lecia.

What is this, kidnapception?

"…"

"This means that at the very least, to your organisation, the HQ, and whatever secrets it holds, is more important than Lecia and her skill."

If Lecia was the backbone of this organisation, they would have done everything imaginable to prevent us from taking her back. The very fact that they didn't means losing Lecia is not THAT big of a loss for them.

Of course, them underestimating us also played a considerable role. It's also possible that they believe they can take Lecia back whenever they want.

Or maybe, the leader of that organisation is playing 16D chess and him letting us take Lecia back is but a small part of some Grand Scheme that the likes of us petty mortals cannot even begin to comprehend.

We never know.

Though I would prefer it to be the latter. That would be more amusing, after all.

Oh wait, now that I think about it, couldn't I put my fake Secret Organisation against the kidnapping one?

Not only would it serve as a proof to everyone that my organisation is real and capable, revealing to the kidnappers that the one they thought of as an organisation was in fact just a dodgy 12-year-old playing an epic prank right before I destroy them would be amusing as fuck.

Alright, it's decided.

It'll be organisation versus organisation.

You're incredibly lucky, Tristan.

"Why are you smiling?"

Operation 'make the character of Samur as realistic as possible': complete.

"I just thought of something incredibly fun."

"…And what is that?"

"Now that's a secret," I winked.

"…" He frowned.

Aight, geez.

"I was planning to finish everything once and for all today, but I suppose I'll push it off to later."

No raiding the organisation's HQ and dropping a huge ass ice spear on them. Sed.

"Are you sure you are not underestimating the organisation?"

Hmm, Tristan doesn't seem offended. Is he simply curious?

"I'm worried that I'm overestimating them. Let's just hope that they won't turn out to be a complete waste of my time."

With how I am, if they can keep me entertained for just 3 seconds, I'll consider this operation to be a success.

"Anyway, back to the topic at hand," I clapped (I had already finished my drink). "We've covered all the basic things, right?"

"I think?" Tristan tilted his head slightly.

"Let's see. We've confirmed that you have an entire organisation behind you which wants Lecia. I also know that the man who barged into the Guild was indeed Lecia's father. Lecia's mother is also dead, which suggests she had a pretty tragic past."

"Suggests?"

Don't sweat the small details, Tristan.

"We also know that it was you who sent the scouts at the Guild. Oh, we also went over the details of Lecia's skills. And finally, I can safely assume that the organisation wouldn't go for a desperate do or die attack in order to reclaim Lecia. That about sums it up, I think."

"That's all?"

"Uh-huh."

I don't think I need any more information, and that's because I don't need to kill any more time.

Neia should have reached the Guild by now. Right now, she should be lying about what happened today.

"What about other things? Like how many members the Organisation has, or how far their reach goes? Or maybe their organisational structure, the hierarchy, their sources of income?"

"Eh, not interested."

I don't want to give myself too much of an advantage in this squabble with Lecia's mysterious kidnappers. Anything more and it'll be like stealing candy from a foetus.

No, wait, I think that analogy is a bit wrong.

A foetus is 'enclosed' in its mother's womb, so there's no way it'll have candy. Even if by some divine miracle it did, taking that candy from it will require me to rip it out from its mother's womb.

Yikes.

Uh, so should I say that it'll be easier than taking candy from a virus?

No, that sounds even weirder.

Fuck it, let's just move on.

"W-why?" Tristan seemed shocked.

Wut?

"Bruh, loyalty aside, do you not want the organisation to avenge your or some shit? It's almost like you want me to destroy the organisation."

Even if he's trying to feed me fake information, he's being too blatant about it.

"!!" He flinched and averted his gaze.

"Ah, are you perhaps doing it for your family?"

"H-how do you-"

"That's a trade secret, I'm afraid. Hmm, but I do understand where you're coming from. Once you're gone, your enemies might try to come after your family."

"…" He bit his lip and stared down.

"But there's nothing we can do about that. Anyway, I think it's time we finish this QnA session. Is there anything you'd like to ask me? I'm willing to reward you as you were surprisingly cooperative."

"…Why?"

Hmm?

"Are you perhaps asking why I did things in such a convoluted way when I could finished it whenever I wanted?"

He quietly nodded.

"Well, there's a bit of a story behind that. Are you interested?"
