I Am In Marvel-Chapter 2: Oh Mother
Thankfully, he wasn’t dead, just passed out, but he’s not sure how long he remained in a coma. Was it days, weeks, months, or years? He did not know.
Rousing from his beauty sleep, the youth’s eyes opened slowly. As he did so, he felt rather dizzy and his vision a bit blurry. He could not see well.
Blinking every now and then, he adjusted himself and adapted to the current environment before sitting up and straightening his body.
Looking around, he found himself lying on top of a bunk bed. Crowds of them were lined up in a somewhat militaristic order inside a wooden cabin. The light overhead had a western vibe and ambiance of the ‘olden days.
“Where… where am I…?” He questioned dubiously. In disbelief, he blinked once more and rubbed his eyes.
Ah, so… I’m in a camp…
Inside an American militaristic camp to be exact
“Did… Did I truly cross through the Marvel Universe…?” The youth muttered softly, the words spoken meant only for him.
His mind quickly circled into a whirlpool state of confusion. He quickly needed to verify his state of reality right then and now else he’d come to the notion that he’d gone mad.
The youth immediately looked down and pulled down his trouser buttons and zipper. He breathed a sigh of relief thereafter.
Fortunately, this little guy is still here… and… it seems to be bigger than normal…
So it looks like my soul crossed through, but my body did not.
Currently, he was unable to check his appearance, but he knew his background was that of a western foreigner. He should be handsome in appearance too, if not more. This was, of course, based on the study of his fair complexion and the little guy below.
In his last life, he was merely an orphan who’d been fostered by a family late in his age. His childhood consisted much of solemn solitude and many times spent alone. He only had novels to entertain himself back in the orphanage system. He liked to get lost in the world of novels during his spare times. His interest leaned towards rebirth novels so he was more accepting of experiencing a sort of rebirth in an alternate reality.
Well, whatever happens, happens, but it is best to know my surrounding. This is a new environment and a different lifestyle, after all. More importantly, I should check out my golden finger.
He was lost deep in thought, prepared to explore the depths of his mind to check if he had any golden finger system when suddenly, the door burst open and a blonde-haired man walked in.
Seeing the youth regain his consciousness, the other party smile merrily and quickly walked towards him.
Noticing the appearance of the other party, the youth was quick to act. He’s sure this person was more than likely his own friend.
If he’s able to maintain a friendly and casual conversation with this friend without revealing any flaws, he should be able to identify his identity as well the current events of this world.
This would be his first trial beginning his rebirth and path to greatness and that is to adapt and blend in without causing too much ruckus. It’d prove difficult but the success would be worth it.
The youth’s lips curved to a smile, his aura warm and friendly, but after his friend spoke, his smile crooked and suddenly stiffened.
“Kyle, are you alright?”
Motherfucker! It’s goddamn English!
The youth looked at his friend, head tilted sideways with a face full of worries. His smile faded into the abyss and his countenance darkened. He shut his mouth right after, daring not to reply.
He really wanted to swear out loud.
Should I not be able to understand the language after crossing?! Why does this world not speak Chinese after crossing?! Fuck, fuck, fuck! Their rebirth novels are fucking deceptive!
To say the least, the youth was only a high schooler who’d yet to graduate nor interact with western foreigners. No matter how well he fared in his English lessons, it’d prove impossible to communicate in native tongue with western foreigners.
Not to mention, his identity was now that of a foreigner. If he spoke in a broken sentence, he’d only expose himself. Besides, even if he did, he did not understand a single word his friend spoke.
Seeing the youth’s face whiten, his friend grew worried. “Kyle, what’s wrong? Are you okay? Do you need a doctor? What I can do for you? You’re okay, right?”
Fuck! Mother of God, go away! Fuck!
The youth gulped and squeezed an ugly smile. He forced himself to understand while his closed fist were now full of cold sweat. He never though a language barrier would place him in a dilemma.
Just when he braced himself to respond, albeit reluctantly, he suddenly saw a series of white cards hovering above his friend’s hair as it moved about in slow circles.
His friend seemed unaware of the white cards hovering high above. Maybe because his focus is set on him that he failed to take notice.
Four white cards? What is that?
「American Soldier Military Uniform Set 」
「 Beginner Bicycler 」
「 Beginner Street Fighter 」
「 Beginner English Proficiency 」
The「American Soldier Military Uniform Set 」white card had a note below stating the card as non-extractable while the other three was available to extract.
The youth ignored the first three white cards and focused intently on the「 Beginner English Proficiency 」white card. The card provided the owner the ability to master both spoken and written English at its basic level.
「 Current Status: Extractable 」
You serious right now?! I can extract it! Yes!
