I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game-Chapter 225: Leopard Stayed
Qiao Suisui quickly grabbed a blanket to cover Carl’s lower body and explained, "It’s not about leaving you behind or going away, but rather returning to a certain point in our past from here."
Carl objected, "Then take me back with you."
"Wouldn’t that mess up the timeline?"
"Then stay here."
Unable to argue with him, Qiao Suisui turned to look at Zong Fang.
Zong Fang looked down and asked, "Can’t we just not go back?"
She knew that waking up only to leave again was somewhat cruel to them, but she was not willing to accept the deaths of Ruka, Ash, and Anubis without even trying once.
Qiao Suisui bit her lip, pondering how to convince them, but Carl embraced her from behind. He didn’t know when he had draped the blanket over his back, but now he pulled it around Qiao Suisui, wrapping her entirely in his arms, with the blanket crossing over her chest and his chin gently resting on top of her head.
"I’m a clingy bug. You’ll never shake me off."
Qiao Suisui felt the burning heat of the chest pressed against her back and the strong heartbeat coming from within her own chest, and couldn’t help but laugh helplessly.
"It’s not about shaking you off, it’s about going back to look for the past you."
She tried to explain herself until her mouth was dry and her tongue was parched, but the two men were unmoved. Seeing nobody responding, Qiao Suisui unwillingly looked towards Zong Fang and affectionately nudged his shin with her foot.
She asked him, "What do you think?"
Zong Fang grabbed her ankle, which was as white as mutton fat jade and had been distracting him since earlier.
Suddenly, he didn’t want to discuss whether to go back anymore.
The man’s thumb rubbed her ankle bone, causing her to itch.
Qiao Suisui wanted to retract her foot, but it was already too late; Zong Fang holding onto her foot was both a warning and a shift in topic.
"Do you think our current state is suitable for discussing this?"
Qiao Suisui stiffened, feeling the tension there, and her eyes shifted away, bashfully moving back.
This move made her bump against the solid chest of the man behind her.
Carl’s hands were already wrapping around her waist underneath the blanket.
Embracing her with a hint of frustration, he said, "I only have one thing to say, wherever you want to go, you must take me with you."
Unable to cope with the two men, Qiao Suisui could only placate them, "Okay, okay, let me go first. We’ll discuss this later."
No sooner had she spoken than Zong Fang lifted and placed her on the bed.
He shot Carl a look, signaling him to leave. Carl laughed in exasperation but reverted to his usual provocative and unruly self, "Why? I was here first."
Zong Fang narrowed his eyes, the chill around him spreading slowly.
Seeing the atmosphere turn a bit sour, Qiao Suisui quickly said, "You both go out, I’m going to sleep."
Carl, full of indignation but unwilling to show it in front of her, abruptly stood up. Just as Zong Fang and Qiao Suisui thought he was going to leave, Carl rolled onto the bed in a rascal manner.
"This is my house, what’s wrong with me sleeping here?"
Zong Fang glared at him in annoyance but didn’t engage, instead, he embraced Qiao Suisui, who was lying in the middle, and laid down on her right side.
Qiao Suisui felt unfamiliar with the current situation.
One on the left, one on the right.
She was in the middle, and it was hard to be a person.
Zong Fang wrapped his arms around her waist while Carl was about to hook her legs.
She had never slept in the same bed with two men at the same time before, but luckily the bed was big enough.
Wait, that didn’t seem to be the point.
Qiao Suisui thought about all sorts of messy things in confusion, which somehow diluted some of her sadness for the moment.
Zong Fang knew her habits, and at this moment gently pinched the back of her neck with his hand. Carl, knowing his own body temperature was high and that she always complained about being hot when they slept together, gently fanned her.
Qiao Suisui initially had no desire to sleep but, being comforted so gently by Zong Fang, gradually relaxed and soon fell asleep.
Noticing that her breathing had become regular, the two men exchanged glances and both saw relief in each other’s eyes.
At the moment, they had no other choice but to try their best to attract and divert her attention so she wouldn’t dwell on her sad feelings continuously.
Zong Fang checked her breathing again before he completely relaxed.
He kissed her on the forehead, his eyes profoundly holding a mixture of deep affection and guilt.
Carl stared blankly at the ceiling and asked in a lowered voice, "Do we really have to let her go back?"
Zong Fang covered her with a blanket, gently stroked her forehead with his fingers, and said softly, "If we don’t let her try, she will have a hard time letting go."
...
The next day, Qiao Suisui planned to go to Ruins Eye to find Lanze first, and then slowly persuade Zong Fang and Carl about the Time Retrospect matter, but she stumbled before leaving the house.
Zong Fang, holding a light computer, said to her, "The school called. They said Harvis is bullying a classmate."
Qiao Suisui was momentarily baffled, "Harvis?"
"Naonao. He’s grown up now and doesn’t like others to call him by his nickname."
With that, Qiao Suisui caught on; she herself was still just a grown-up child, and it was really too early for her to take on a mother’s role. Nevertheless, she believed she still had to fulfill her duties, so she changed her plan and said, "Then I’ll go with you."
Carl used Breakthrough to take them to the school, and since Zong Fang had previously attended Josiah’s parents’ meetings, he was fairly familiar with the route. The trio went straight to the principal’s office.
On the way, Zong Fang explained the young pup’s situation to her. Josiah and the others had always been taken care of by Zong Yan over the years, so they attended a school directly governed by Federation Central, which was the school they were now in. Harvis and the other three, as well as six from the Leberli Royal Family, had always attended the Auslan Empire’s royal schools up until a few years ago when, after Leberli had an incident, Zong Fang transferred them to a Federation Central school.
As soon as Qiao Suisui entered the principal’s office, she saw a line of young boys standing against the wall, all of them with bruises on their faces and arms, each with a disgruntled expression.
The parents of the other party had already arrived, waiting to settle the score, and said quite rudely, "Let’s settle this privately. It won’t look good to escalate things, and we’re not short of money. Just have your useless kids apologize to mine."
"You haven’t even asked what happened, why apologize?" Qiao Suisui felt it was absurd.
As soon as she spoke up, the boys standing punished against the wall all looked her way. Initially, their eyes were blank, but after a few seconds, they all wore expressions of disbelief.
"Mom..."
One boy’s eyes were already red, as he stared at Qiao Suisui and cried out.
Qiao Suisui blinked, seeing these middle school-aged boys, none of whom could correspond to the fuzzy little lion cubs of her memories. Any creature is cute when it’s young; Qiao Suisui could have possibly felt a wave of maternal affection, but seeing the ’young pups’ now grown up, with more than a decade’s absence between, she found it somewhat difficult to switch roles all at once.
Carl was even more detached; standing aside idly holding Qiao Suisui’s hand, he played with her fingers. Looking at the group of nearly grown boys in front of him, and recalling his own experiences fighting in school, he thought it was nothing serious – all a necessary part of growing up – and found the constant parental intervention rather dull.
The family of the student injured by Harvis wouldn’t have imagined that among these three people, only Zong Fang was the real parent.
Zong Fang used his aura to immediately stun the questioning parents opposite, glanced lightly at the wounds on the boy’s face and body, then turned and asked one of the boys standing punished by the wall, "Harvis Sisecos, explain."
The middle boy with brown hair raised his head, the fear of being called formally making him stiffen involuntarily.
However, he quickly recovered, his face filled with anger as he pointed at another boy and said, "He started it!"
