The group returned to the oasis. The Forest Guardian was resting near a tree. Its complex antlers glowed all kinds of beautiful colors.

The dark veins on its body had disappeared. The only thing left was the pure materialistic power of nature.

The deer opened its eyes and looked over to the group. It stood up and was several times bigger than before.

"Thank you, brave warriors." The Forest Guardian's voice echoed throughout the oasis.

"We just did our part of the deal." Siderius said.

"Indeed you did. I shall fulfil my part as well."

Colors rained down as long faded lines from the Guardian's antlers. It wrapped around the four of them.

The colors turned into silver strands and went inside their body.

Their Karma went up quite a bit, making them luckier and blessed by the forest.

"Huh? Didn't feel that much different." Bas looked at his body and said.

"Now. Please leave the rest of you. I need to speak with the white warrior here… Alone."

The other three left, leaving Siderius alone with the Guardian.

"What do you want, forest spirit?" Siderius said. "Another task?"

The deer shook its head then said, "Not a task. But a reward. My birds and leaves watched all of you on your quest. They wouldn't be able to kill the shadow invader without you.

Tell me. What do you want, white warrior? And I'll do the best of my ability to help you."

Siderius rubbed his chin for a few seconds then said, "I want a nose. A good nose with an incredible sense of smell. Preferably the nose of a supernatural being."

The Forest Guardian blinked its eyes a few times.

"I have a few supernatural organs. Some from the remains of the forest creatures. Some from the enemies of the forest. Some discarded by unknown wanderers.

We originally didn't have a nose but we did recently just get one."

"Can I see it?"

"Very well."

From within the ground, a hand made of dirt burst out. It opened its hand and showed Siderius a dark blue dog nose covered in black smoke.

"This is…" Siderius mumbled.

"Eurus. The personification of the East Wind in our forest. Unfortunately, he and a few other spirits of the forest were harmed by that shadow invader. He didn't make it."

Siderius picked up the nose and examined. It was preserved perfectly while keeping the power of the forest within it.

"Eurus… A dog spirit of the wind?" Siderius said.

The Forest Guardian nodded. "Yes. Eurus always wanted to run around and cause trouble. Raining down unexpected storms without any warnings. He was… mischievous but kind.

We think a lot about him." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"May I take this nose?"

"Certainly. It is your rightful reward."

"Much obliged, Guardian."

With that, Siderius left the oasis and rejoined the others. Quinlan and Bas didn't ask what the conversation was. They didn't want to get pulled into another mission.

Ashe did ask Siderius and he showed her the nose.

"A nose of a wind spirit? What do you think it'll give you, Master?" Ashe said.

Siderius shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe a unique ability related to nature. Or maybe just an agility boost. We won't know until we graft it."

The group continued on the road again. There was still a long road away from Kynidus, the first Master. They had decided to meet up with Jude first.

The group stopped by an inn on the road to rest.

Quinlan and Bas shared one room as usual. The bodyguard and the one that needed protection.

Siderius and Ashe used two different rooms.

That night, he sat down on the floor and grafted his first Odora.

"The first nose mutation. After this, there is the skin. That would boost my strength greatly. Then the Ultima. Only two more organs before I reach Viscera."

Extima was the mutation of outer organs.

Viscera was the mutation of inner organs, the second combination of mutation for a witch hunter.

Siderius used the usual Mercury Seal to envelope the wind spirit's nose. He then grafted it on his own nose.

The hunter made a slight incision on the nose and let the Mercury climb inside.

Siderius opened his eyes. His body felt lighter. His smell became more precise and had a wider range.

His perception didn't increase much but the nose mutation unlocked the power of his ability. Previously, only his eyes and ears were sharp. His nose was still human, despite his high perception.

Now his nose had also become superhuman.

"No initial mutation at first. I have all night to myself. Let's see if I will get one after dissolving the mutation."

Siderius prepared his pipe and accessed the Alchemical Palace. He used the night time to combat the wind spirit.

However, this time there was no battle. The wind spirit wasn't hostile.

Siderius theorized it might be because of the kind nature of the wind spirit. Or maybe because he had a blessing from the forest.

Whatever it was, he didn't need to fight it.

Instead, the dog spirit of the wind had permanently become a resident in his mind palace. He lived there along with Nora.

His Psychosis went down in an instant.

He did awaken a new mutation after absorbing the wind spirit entirely. It was an agility mutation. His feet became lighter and could be carried by the wind itself.

He became even faster than before with his agility also hiking up.
