In the North of Eldoria, there were four biggest main territories.

Snowfell belonged to Siderius.

Scalize belonged to Jude Fisher.

The Hallow Land belonged to Varick Hallolass.

The Grey Plain belonged to Arlow Galland.

Scalize was the area in between the North and the South. It was the warmest barony amongst all four.

Siderius' Snowfell stayed in the middle, directly connected to the other three.

The Hallow Land stayed at the top, acting as the border toward Everia.

The Grey Plain was also at the top but it was more in the West, facing the Wilds Land directly, which did not belong to any kingdom.

After the disappearance of Varick Hallolass, the Grove started to look for the culprit and the reason behind his death. With Siderius' Last Rite of the Dead, the witches couldn't use Necromancy to find out what happened.

They had to use the old way to investigate, which they were not really good at. Up until now, the Grove didn't have the faintest idea who killed Varick.

In the meantime, Varick's previous ally, Arlow Galland had used this opportunity to take over the Hallow Land.

Eldoria had caught wind of the civil war in Everia. They too had prepared their own army and witches to attack Everia. The most powerful witches weren't back home anymore, allowing Arlow to take over Hallow Land.

Traditionally, Arlow could not hold two barony. That would make it a county. But in wartime, anything could have an exception.

Arlow didn't need to figure out work around like Siderius did with Scalize.

The 300 soldiers were not that big of a troop. But they were big enough to be hard to hide. Everywhere they went, people would know.

To keep the secrecy of this mission in tact, Kraus and his spies had already took out other eyes and ears of Arlow or any suspicious individual.

The people of the Hallow Land saw the troop going by but they didn't care much. They went on with their day.

A week later.

Siderius had arrived at the castle of the Hallow Land, where Varick once ruled.

The Dark Ice Coven resided in the Hallow Land. Arlow, with his few men, did not have the strength to also manage the Hallow Land. So he had made a deal with the Dark Ice Coven. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

The Coven shall manage the Hallow Land on his behalf and received some of his power and in return, Arlow could still be the undisputed Baron of the two territories.

Siderius' small troop hid in the Rottin Woods. They set up a military camp for the night.

The soldier took out a small orange rock. By hitting the rock into a charcoal, the orange rock lit up and illuminated gently. It gave off heat that could be used for cooking and heating.

That rock was called a Sunstone, which was an artificial alchemical alloy that Siderius designed and his apprentices produced for the military.

The Sunstone was more convenient and stealthy than the usual campfire, leaving no smoke column into the sky.

The soldiers were trained thoroughly. They set up camp, cooking area, and eating area quickly without much hassle.

Then the leader of each smaller platoon commanded their men.

Siderius sat at the innermost campfire that made with Sunstones. Alongside him were the apprentices and the Lord Commander of the first legion, Nadia.

"You trained these men well, Nadia." Siderius said as he ate from a small aluminum bowl.

"Thank you for the compliments, my lord. They are good soldiers. I got a lot of help from Lord Instructor and Lord Strategist also. Master Steward also helped me a lot." Nadia said.

"Don't be so humble, Nadia." Ashe smiled, "You're the leader of a large legion now. There is a reason why you're here."

"She's right." Roland nodded.

Once the soldiers had rested and fed, the attack began.

Siderius sneaked into the castle once more. This time with Roland and Rea. Nadia, Ashe, and Henry stayed behind to lead the soldiers.

"According to Kraus, there's four witches in this place. All four belong to the Dark Ice Coven. Three of them are Witchlings. Only one is a Lesser Witch." Siderius whispered quietly.

"I will handle the Lesser Witch. You two take care of the Witchlings."

Roland and Rea nodded.

In the darkness of the castle, Siderius' pupils expanded. His Dark Vision activated. The witch hunter seeped into the shadow.

Josenic Gantlet was a lifelong witch of the Dark Ice Coven. He had been a Lesser Witch for decades and couldn't find anyway to reach for the higher level. He thought that he would always be at this state, never be able to reach for something more.

But opportunity came when Eldoria took interest in Everia's Civil War. Every Major Witch had left. And now, Josenic had become the ruler of the Hallow Land.

He might not be the ruler in name but he was it in reality.

Josenic was standing at the balcony looking down onto the vast land beneath.

"All of this... is mine." Josenic grinned widely.

Suddenly, the ritual circle inside the room lit up.

Josenic snapped his head back as he saw Siderius shot out from the darkness.

"Assassin? Foolish!" Josenic shouted.

The magic circle shone even brighter. A faint red barrier wrapped around Siderius.

The white-haired hunter didn't slow down. The Silver Hawk appeared on his back.

Silver Hawk was reforged with Bright Steel. The blade illuminated brightly. It shone in the night like the moon itself.

Siderius spun his body and sliced Silver Hawk over the barrier. A large gap was opened.

"You?! What is this sword?"

Josenic jerked back. His feet stomped on the ground as he flung himself out of the balcony.

Siderius clenched the hilt of the blade. His other hand twisted Silver Hawk.

With Bright Steel, Siderius was able to engrave many more Alchemical Seals than Strong Steel. One of the Seals that Siderius added was Energy Amplification.

Willpower flooded into the blade. It was amplified by the seal. A golden stream shot out from the blade like volcanic eruption.

Josenic grew a pair of raven wings. He flew away at high speed. At that moment, he could feel the most primal fear of any living being, the threat of death.

"Die, witch."

Siderius squinted his eyes. He swiped Silver Hawk over Josenic's direction.
