Chapter 641: Chapter 641: Your Wife Couldn’t Find You

"If I didn’t want you to have a baby, I would’ve taken precautions already." He raised his hand, tucking her hair behind her ear, speaking indulgently, "Just let things take their course. If you’re pregnant, then have the baby, and once you do, I’ll take care of both of you."

She laughed and nodded heavily.

"Okay."

So, the two of them continued walking hand in hand.

The driver, for some reason, was a bit late. Kris Cooper, who was usually a little impatient, surprisingly showed a rare patience this time.

The night was deep, and there were hardly any pedestrians on the road. Neither of them spoke, they just quietly held hands and moved forward.

Even without speaking, they walked in sync, their steps matching perfectly.

In the distance, the driver finally arrived.

Just as they were about to get in the car, Vera Wave’s phone started vibrating in her purse.

Kris Cooper took out her phone and handed it to her. Vera looked at the unfamiliar number with curiosity and answered the call.

"Vera, it’s me, Sally Dalton."

The caller was Sally Dalton, who had been searching for Nathan Leafcastle for several hours without success, and had no choice but to call Vera for help.

"I’m not familiar with this place, and I’ve looked everywhere I can think of. Do you know of any place he likes to go?"

Vera comforted her with a few words, then seriously pondered for a moment.

"I know a place, but... I’m not sure. Let’s go check it out!"

...

...

Half an hour later.

The driver drove to Houhai. Vera lifted her dress and got out of the car, searching around. She quickly spotted a figure sitting on a bench by the shore.

She walked over and soon recognized it was Nathan Leafcastle.

Kris Cooper frowned, but eventually stepped forward to support her arm, as the path was difficult to walk on and she was wearing high heels.

They walked to the bench where Nathan Leafcastle was sitting. The man continued to gaze at the water, not turning around, like a statue lost in thought.

"Brother Nathan?"

Vera gently called out to him.

Nathan Leafcastle turned his head in surprise, looking at the two standing not far away, his face full of astonishment.

"Vera, why are you here?"

Kris Cooper, standing to one side, whispered sarcastically.

"So boring. You think we wanted to come? It was only because your wife couldn’t find you that she called Vera."

If it weren’t for Vera’s concern, he wouldn’t have bothered with Nathan Leafcastle.

"I’m sorry,"

Nathan Leafcastle apologized.

"As long as you’re okay," Vera smiled. "Miss Sally is pretty worried. You should call her back. She’s been looking for you for hours."

"Nathan!"

Just then, Sally Dalton’s voice came from afar. She ran over in a flurry, still wearing her home clothes. She rushed over, grabbed Nathan Leafcastle’s arm, and anxiously checked him up and down, "Are you alright?"

Nathan Leafcastle shook his head gently, "I’m fine, Sally... I’m sorry."

"Since... you’re fine, we’ll be heading back now."

After speaking, Vera dragged Kris Cooper towards the street.

Nathan Leafcastle called out to her, but she acted as if she hadn’t heard and leaned wearily against the car seat after getting in.

Seeing her like this, Kris Cooper reached over, pulling her little head over to rest on his chest.

"Don’t overthink it. He’s not a child; isn’t it enough that we found him?"

"Okay." Vera nodded in his embrace, then looked up and smiled at him, "Honey, let’s go home!"
