Chapter 157: His careful plans

Ravi recalled somewhere he heard when he was young. He did not remember where but the person said, "A good plan is like a tree, and reality is like the wind. The tree might be rigid, but the wind will bend it.

Ravi’s plan was so simple. First, behave in the kidnapped area, Arlen would look for him, absence would make his heart grow fonder, he would find him and Ravi would use the emotional moment to confess and you know...he was not quite sure how the rest of it would go but that was a good plan in his mind.

12 hours in, and the first wave of wind came. Victor soon rushed into the room, the side of his head was bleeding, a good pop of color into the pale bald side of his head.

"You! Get up!" He said to Ravi, "We have to go now." He then smiled and headed towards Alexis. There was a hint of regret on his face as he looked down at the girl who was looking up at him.

The terror that had been in his eyes earlier seemed to be missing and she stared at him without fear.

Victor gritted his teeth, wanting to pluck those eyes but after Kadia had smashed his head over and over at the table, Victor was a little more subdued. His instruction was to dispose of the girl less messily than his usual killing.

"You are so lucky, wrench. The plans I have for you. What a waste of good female flesh?"

Ravi sat up at his words, having a feeling that something was wrong.

"She is just a child. Let her go." He said with a tone of carelessness in it.

Victor’s reply was to stab fiercely into the girls’ stomach but the dagger only went halfway in.

Blood oozed out of the wound instantly.

Victor let out a huge grin and his left hand pressed down even more on his right hand that was holding the dagger.

"Ah! Looks like I hit a bone."

He looked at the girl, who surprisingly did not shout or beg for mercy. She did not even twitch at all.

Victor’s eyes widened and his vision temporarily blurred out of anger. He began stabbing her over and over again. The sounds of metal cutting through flesh became the only sound in the room.

Fresh blood gushed out and spilled over his face, and his eyes and he chuckled, his tongue stretching out to lick the blood.

"Victor, hurry up with the police officer. The tracker has already reached the action, he will be here any moment." The voice of the woman who had pressed the blade to his neck sounded outside the door.

Victor stood up, cleaning the knife with the girl’s clothes. He reached out to Ravi, "Behave if you don’t want to end up like her." Thinking about something, he chuckled, "Well, you would end up like her no matter what and I would make that damned runaway thrall watch every moment."

"Thrall?" Ravi was a little confused, not paying heed to the threat. As they walked out of the room, the body vanished into little mists.

The man did not talk to him but just dragged him along up the stairs.

Ravi suddenly frowned. He sensed something, a mental energy looking for him, the energy carried his signature and was searching, searching.

The energy was nothing compared to Malik’s, if Malik’s energy was like a cutter fish allowing him to blend in undetectable, this energy which was far more smaller carried a large flag as if screaming, look at me.

And look he did, he glanced back and followed the thread back to the wielder.

His sea of consciousness was too inferior, the mental palace was scattered and had no sense of organization. Such a person had found him, it was impossible to imagine.

This person was far too weak and inconsequential to be a member of any immortal organization. Even a sentinel who had been trained for a day had stronger mental fences than this.

So why should he be looking for him?

"You! Who are you?" He asked. Even though he was in this person’s mind, he could not control it, nor could he influence it in any way.

"Ah!" The person gasped out loud as if just noticing him.

Ravi frowned, cementing his thoughts that this person could not be out of this planet, "Speak. I can’t read your mind, I am not Malik. Why are you searching around for me? I don’t have time, I would kill you."

"I am Yuku. I am a tracker sent by the Sinclair family to find you. I..."

"Fuck!" Ravi could not help but swear, this was the person that Arlen had found to find him and he had spoiled everything.

This was not the way this was supposed to go. Ravi hurried to fix it up.

"This discussion never happened. If you tell anyone, I will kill you. I am in 13 Colorado Street, the small blue house next to the train tracks. The house has a basement."

He said before returning. The entire exchange happened in less than a minute and Ravi had already been dragged to the meeting room.

The group had someone inside the Bureau that was feeding them information. That was how they knew that the tracker was coming and how they also knew that Sarah had exposed them back at the square that day.

It was not his team.

Ravi was sure of it. It must be the other team. He frowned, feeling his palm shake again, having a traitor next to Arlen was extremely uncomfortable for him. He couldn’t bear it, what if he decided to make a move, and judging how ruthless this team was so far, it was too dangerous for Arlen?

"Say cheese." Someone said and the sound of the camera flashing sounded. Ravi blinked at the light from the camera, frowning as he did so.

Everyone moved quickly to a van not far from the house. One of the women who had offered him water, began to set up her computer.

"Stay here."

The large screen in the van was filled with faces. His, Arlen, his police team, the person that he had seen Arlen with and Asher.

Asher. In that moment, everything clicked, like scattered puzzles suddenly coming together.
