Chapter 285: Anouk fights Ravi

Ravi nodded, "I did, so don’t worry, I would not let anything happen to our home."

"We. I am here with you, Ravi. I would not let you do it on your own."

His words made Ravi feel guilty; he knew how much Arlen did not want him to carry any burden on his own, "I know. I am really sorry about this."

Arlen’s eyes narrowed as he felt the air grow heavy like the atmosphere was pressing in from all sides. His skin prickled as if the very participles making up his flesh had been pinned in place, locked by some unseen force. The surrounding space shimmered like it was being compromised.

Arlen fought back the urge to fight against this ability. It was almost microscopic.

"Ravi." He felt a pain in his heart, was it because...

"You are not weak, Arlen. When I was your age, I had not even accomplished a quarter of what you have. I am sorry, the next person I have to fight is a little....I won’t harm him, I promise."

Ravi did not have the heart to look back at Arlen. If Arlen had bound him and refused him to fight beside him, he knew how hurt he would be and If Arlen had told him that he did it because he loved him, he would have been even more upset.

But Ravi did not have a choice, because the next opponent was someone that Arlen couldn’t fight with.

The sky grew dark all of a sudden. One line of rain after the other, they seemed like sculptures carved into thin lines.

Ravi looked up and moved. The sword and the rain met.

Bang!

The rain that looked so gentle was completely divided into two, letting out a sound as if metal had just rubbed against each other.

Ravi blinked. He had done his best to lower his strength so as not to hurt Anouk, but the technicality of the technique made him very impressed. He wondered what it would be like to fight him at his peak.

"What the... Anouk! Anouk! Anouk! What are you doing? What is wrong with you?" Arlen who had been pointing, ignoring Ravi out of anger, immediately struggled against the confines of Ravi’s power.

He struggled again and then stopped. He did not know how much backlash Ravi would get if he kept on fighting against his ability.

Anouk appeared in the sky, his cold blue eyes glanced over Arlen and then at Ravi.

"Anouk! You frozen bone soup. Are you crazy? Anouk!" Arlen gritted his teeth as he glared at his brother. Just what is it that would cause his calm brother to lose all sense of ration and attack Ravi?

He took a deep breath. He understood why Ravi had tied him up. He was still angry but he would focus on his anger some other time.

"Ravi, do give him a sound beating. Maybe his sense would come back."

A line appeared on Anouk’s forehead, "You should bind his mouth as well. He is quite distracting." Anouk’s voice was quiet, measured even as he stared at Ravi.

Ravi’s lips twitched but he did not react much. Zero sending Anouk was still under his prediction, compared to other enemies, Anouk was very problematic for Ravi to fight.

Where to begin, he could not harm Anouk and could only passively defend against his attack.

Zero knew this, Ravi knew this and soon, Anouk would know this too.

His blue eyes were fixed on Ravi like he could not tell that Ravi was far stronger than him. It was like a wolf locking onto a prey, an intuition and sharpness that had reached a level very few would ever hope to touch.

Anouk’s eyes grew hooded as he stared up. Whoosh. A wind arose. Small winds began to stir around Anouk, he took a single step towards Ravi and it was as if he had become part of the wind, merging into it.

Ravi felt it coming. The whisper of the wind that curled around his shoulder like a ghostly hand and he vanished before it struck. He reintegrated a few meters away but Anouk seemed to have predicted it, attacking the area where he reformed.

The gale howled as it took shape, the slicing-edge of the wind lashing out like a scythe. Ravi moved again but the blade ripped through the space that he had just occupied. The wind collapsed inward and turned razor sharp, the very air compressing into sharp edges.

It spread across the entire space, narrowing avoiding Arlen as it searched for Ravi. A deafening crack split the air as a bolt of lightning struck down.

Wind. Lightening. Rain. Anouk used everything at his disposal, with each attack, he became even more efficient and faster and each strike became more deadly.

If not all the attacks had avoided, the area Arlen was in, Ravi would have suspected that Anouk was without reason.

Rumble! Rumble!

Two long black whips appeared and simultaneously lashed out, unleashing crackling sounds of thunder as they did.

Ravi’s eyes brightened and he had to fight back the urge to respond to the pure fighting aura that Anouk generated.

But it was very hard to do so.

Ravi’s face flushed as if he had become drunk.

A sense of excitement and an intent to battle that was hard to put into words made his body tremble. His heart was churning with an immense desire to battle.

Ravi’s fists were tightly clenched and his nails turned white from the pressure. His trembling spread through his entire body and his eyes glinted with a strange light.

Unconsciously he licked his lips.

"Ravi!"

He could hear Arlen calling him and his sword that was floating in the air emitting a golden light vanished.

Something was wrong.

He looked at Anouk and he could not help but feel awe in his heart. This person was a mortal and yet he had achieved enlightenment.

Here on Earth. A pure battle aura emitted from him, and his blue eyes focused on Ravi without blinking.

Ravi swallowed and calmed himself down. He had left his guard down a little too much.

The next moment, it was as if cold water was poured on his head. After the calming energy, an annoying voice entered his mind, "Find the otherworld and bring him to me. I would take it from here."

Ravi wanted to roll his eyes but at the same time, he was very glad that Malik was alright.

The gentle voice echoed around him.

"Anouk, get down here."
