Chapter 80: Ravi felt upset

That was easier said than done. Ravi focused as his hands flew across the keyboard. freewebnøvel.com

"Did you find anything?" Tom asked as he moved his chair closer, peering into the screen. He looked left and rich and when he noticed that the Captain had gone to answer a call, he asked in a low voice, "So what happened? Why did you cut your hair? A date. You young people are so active."

Young person. He was not young but technically he was not old either. He had never had the chance to grow old. He died at eighteen and in his missions in the Sentinel Realm, he always transmigrated in the body of a youth.

Well, except for the time he transmigrated to a young teen in the Imperial Realm or that time, he was a sapling in the elven realm. But no matter the realm or the mission, Ravi had never reached thirty years.

To be honest, he felt more old on this Earth than he ever did in the Sentinel. One would think that since he had lived for so long, he would have better control of his physical facilities.

Age, huh? Alya was more than five thousand years older than him but in the eyes of the immortals, she was merely a young child. That was the reason she was so heavy-handed, she was always afraid that they would look down on her.

He was having a headache even thinking about it. He sighed.

"What are you thinking about?" There was a helplessness in Arlen’s voice. He had thought that Ravi was absentminded at work, who knew if he would be absent-minded on the road? Should he drive him home?

The worry he felt was new but not unpleasant causing him to smile.

Ravi blinked, "I got their address. None of them live around the Michael Grill and Bar. They are all part of an organization. Knights for Earth."

"That sounds militant." Draco furrowed his brows.

Militant? Ravi continued, "I checked out the organization. It was founded by Richard Reynolds, Marcus’ older brother in Davenport Community College. They believe in fighting to save the dying planets, and that they are the guardians of Earth. I would print out their manifesto."

The next second, the printing machine sounded and Lisa went to collect the papers and shared it around.

"The animal slaughterers continue to defile our Mother Earth. They harm her by killing her children. Are they alright mentally?" Draco was speechless.

Lisa sighed, "I feel a little bad, having the burger that I had this morning. Maybe, I should have opted for porridge."

The two people who shared braised pork noodle soup last night looked at each other, a similar smile on their faces.

"No need to rush to a conclusion. Don’t underestimate them either. I just received a call from Captain Millie of the Fire Brigade. I will be going over there."

Ravi’s eyes glowed and he almost stood up to get the keys.

"I would be going with Officer Brown. Officer West, Officer Brown, and Officer Johnson, you would head to the school and collect their statement. Ask them if they had noticed anything either. I am not saying it is arson. So don’t go there with an accusatory front, be calm yet strict, they are teenagers, I would leave it to you."

They were not going together. Sure, they were not partners but he and Arlen had always investigated together.

His fingers trembled, and he felt upset. He did not spare Arlen another glance and he made his way to the small rack where the keys to the police sedans were and took one.

"Shouldn’t we make a strategy?" Sarah asked as she followed after Ravi passing the Captain, who was looking at Ravi’s back with a confused expression.

Lisa carried the laptop and the paper, "The passenger seat is mine this time!"

Why was he so upset? More than that, there was a trace of anger floating around in his mind. Why? Was he being possessive? First jealous, then possessive?

Ravi suddenly felt afraid. What was this? Wss this because Arlen was his first friend since that incident? He did not want to lose him. That would make sense but it did not explain his emotions enough.

"Officer West? Are you alright?"

"Ravi! What are you doing? Let’s go."

Ravi nodded like a puppet on a string and inserted the key, he wanted to drink so much right now. The strong wine rushing down his throat, burning his chest and his thoughts, numbing his mind.

He wanted that.

"Ravi! Focus."

"Sorry."

Soon, they reached Davenport High School. Like everything owned by the government, it was outwardly large. There were towering trees and some of them had various markings on them. Ravi parked next to the flower bush that looked very well-maintained

"Hello! You must be the police officers. Your Captain contacted us a few minutes ago." A man dressed in a blue suit said with a huge smile, "I am Alexis Coen. The Vice Principal." Next to him was a woman in a light blue blouse and black pencil skirt, "This is Rose Sharon. The guidance Counselor."

They had not even thought of contacting the school before time, Sarah walked in front and showed her badge, "I am Officer Sarah Adams. This is Officer West and Officer Johnson. We would just be asking a few questions."

"You know the parents..." The Vice-Principal started and Sarah hurriedly interrupted him.

"The guidance counselor can sit in with us but she should not interrupt our questioning."

The woman nodded, "Officers should not worry." Her voice was gentle. Does every guidance counselor have that voice? He suddenly remembered Mrs Broke, his guidance counselor, he had that voice as well.

The Vice Principal led them inside, boasting so much about the schools that one would think they were reporters and not police officers.

In the end, Sarah had to subtly ask him to leave as only Mrs Sharon’s presence would be necessary. Mrs Sharon led them to her office, it was very airy with potted plants every three steps. "You can use my office. I would call in the students for you."

"Wait a minute. Mrs Sharon, What can you tell us about the students?" Lisa suddenly asked as she sat down.
