These two boys sure are competitive, he thought.

Sasuke clearly cared about Naruto and had specifically asked him to give Naruto the Uzumaki clan’s texts.

Having a fixed rival and growing through their unyielding competition was pretty good for both of them.

Thinking this, he turned to Jiraiya and spoke a bit more.

"Some of the Uzumaki clan techniques that can only be trained by those with their bloodline, like the Kagura Mind’s Eye and Adamantine Sealing Chains, are detailed in those texts. These should be the most suitable techniques for this kid, especially the Adamantine Sealing Chains, which will greatly help him control the Nine-Tails’ chakra."

Seeing that Naruto had returned to normal, Jiraiya patted his shoulder with relief and stood up.

He looked at Kaito, a complex emotion flashing across his face, then spoke boisterously, "Thanks, Uchiha kid. However, you’ve done a few things recently that have shaken the ninja world. I can’t quite determine your true intentions anymore."

"As expected of Jiraiya-senpai, you don’t see me as a simple enemy," Kaito smiled.

"I don’t care about the mess between you Uchiha and Danzo. Some of the things you took from Konoha were rightfully yours," Jiraiya said, crossing his arms and raising his head.

He continued, "As for the other parts, as long as you haven’t traded them with other villages, Konoha can consider it compensation for the Uchiha clan and won’t pursue it. That’s also Tsunade’s intention. Besides, you didn’t harm anyone else in Konoha."

"A grudge has a source, after all, I’m not a butcher," Kaito said. "Jiraiya-senpai should know by now about the recent events. I have shown mercy to Konoha more than once."

Jiraiya clearly knew about Kaito’s chakra sealing and extortion incident, his face twitched, unsure of what to think.

"Jiraiya-senpai, are you familiar with the ancient onmyoji?" Kaito produced a fan and elegantly waved it, his demeanor calm and radiant.

Before Jiraiya could answer, he continued.

"Onmyoji were practitioners of yin-yang theories, able to observe stars, read faces, determine directions, foresee disasters, search for feng shui, draw talismans, chant spells, exorcise demons, and conduct rituals. A thousand years ago, the highest ruler, the Emperor, greatly valued the power of onmyoji and even established the Onmyo Bureau as an official institution."

"Oh! That’s so cool!" Naruto’s eyes sparkled.

Jiraiya glanced at Naruto, unwilling to be outdone, and said, "I’ve heard some stories about onmyoji, but those are just legends. Only fools believe them!"

He then flailed around dramatically, tossing his messy hair in circles and striking a bizarre pose.

"I am the legendary Sannin, the white-haired toad sage Jiraiya, known as the Toad Hermit of Mt. Myoboku!"

He turned and shouted at Naruto, "I’m the coolest!"

"Humph, you’re just a pervy sage," Naruto retorted, then turned back to Kaito, "Sasuke’s uncle, are you an onmyoji? It sounds so cool!"

"No way," he exclaimed, jumping up, "Is Sasuke going to become an onmyoji too? He’ll become even more arrogant!"

Then, looking dejected, he muttered, "If that happens, Sakura will definitely like him even more..."

"No way! I need to find Kakashi-sensei!" He pointed disdainfully at Jiraiya, "Following this pervy sage won’t make me cool!"

Crack...

Veins popped on Jiraiya’s forehead, his mouth twitching uncontrollably.

Bang!

A new bump appeared on Naruto’s head, smoking.

"Idiot! I’m the most handsome and charming guy, a hundred times cooler than Kakashi!!" Jiraiya’s spit flew onto Naruto’s face.

Ignoring the dazed Naruto, Jiraiya turned back to Kaito and asked, "So, what are you really trying to say?"

Kaito calmly waved his fan and smiled, "The Box of Ultimate Bliss is a sealing tool. In the past, it absorbed too many innocent lives, giving birth to a demon of resentment inside. I’ve purified it and plan to use it to seal other demons and purify them. Isn’t that what onmyoji do?"

His words were mostly true, with a hint of falsehood, and Jiraiya didn’t notice anything amiss.

"I’ll take your word for it."

Rubbing his hands together, Jiraiya asked with a sleazy grin, "I heard you’ve fought with members of the Akatsuki. Can you share some secret intel?"

A few black lines appeared on Kaito’s forehead, and he quietly took a step back.

He said, "I can share some intel, but you have to do something for me first."

"Sure, sure!" Jiraiya nodded eagerly, "But tell me what it is first."

Kaito said, "Don’t worry, I just need you to pass a message to the Great Toad Sage of Mt. Myoboku."

A gleam of understanding flashed in Jiraiya’s eyes, but he nonchalantly replied, "No problem, I can do that."

Kaito noticed the subtle change in his expression but didn’t comment, instead saying earnestly, "I don’t know much about the Akatsuki, but I’ve encountered four members so far."

"Four? Tell me about them," Jiraiya’s expression turned serious.

"The first I encountered were Uchiha Itachi and a shark-faced rogue ninja from the Hidden Mist," Kaito said. "Later, two others who attacked us were Nagato, who possesses the Rinnegan, and Tobi, who claims to be Uchiha Madara."

"We’ve received information about Tobi from Konoha," Jiraiya sighed, "But... Nagato..."

Kaito noticed his sudden change in expression.

Jiraiya suppressed his complex emotions and asked nonchalantly, "Can you describe their abilities in detail?"
