I Awoke as an Imprisoned Villainess-Chapter 3 - That, thats prison...!?
That, that’s prison…!?
The knight began to explain life in the tower.
“During the three months you will be spending in this tower, you will have three meals a day, including refreshments. You may take a bath once every three days, and luxuries such as jewelries and dresses are not allowed… but I will approve the bracelet you are wearing right now. If there’s anything you need, let me know. I will judge cautiously whether there’s any problems, but I can arrange you things like books or stationery.”
“That, that’s prison…!?”
I was so surprised I couldn’t help but let out a loud voice. Oh my god! Earl Alcott’s house sounds much more like a prison now.
The knight continues to explain while gazing at me like gazing at something fishy.
“Furthermore, a priest will come to you once a day. You will be preached about teachings of god until you reflect on your actions. It might be good for you to learn some good ethics.”
“A priest will directly preach me about the teachings!?”
“Enough!”
The knight revealed his anger to me whose eyes lit up thinking this is heaven, as if he couldn’t stand it anymore.
“What’s with that act?! The real you hurls all manners of abuse to anyone who’s not your favorite servant; if the meal brought to you is not full course, you would say, “Only a dog like you would call this a meal” and you’re the kind of person to snicker at the teachings of god as pointless. You’re not the kind of person to feel gratitude in this situation!”
“Th…”
That’s already a picture-perfect villainess.
I somewhat knew already from the reactions of the servants and the knight; Lady Violet is really a terrible person just like Julia said. I thought it would be better she should be detained not only for three months but a year… then I recalled that I am the one who’s imprisoned now.
“Look, you better drop that act right now. You understand?”
The knight looks at me harshly. Then he turned back, opened the door and left.

For the time being, I should eat the meal while it’s still hot. After finishing my meal, my stomach stopped growling and I considered my situation seriously for the first time.
First of all, I am somehow Violet Elford, the duke’s daughter, at least in appearance. There is no mistake about this, perhaps.
She has committed some kind of great sin and is imprisoned in the tower of confinement. At first, the knight said, “You did such an absurd thing to His Highness’s fiancee” so she must have done something disrespectful to His Highness- likely His Highness’s fiancee.
His Highness’s fiancee is Countess Lily Redgrave who’s known as the White Lily. I have heard about her from Julia.
Julia is enamored with her, saying that she is so beautiful, pure-hearted, and sweet that one would explode in the head around her. She has a gentle and broad heart towards anyone, and His Highness is crazy for that Lady Lily.
Lady Violet must be imprisoned in this tower for disrespecting that person outrageously. I can only imagine how angry she must have been.

“Sir knight said she’s good at magic… maybe, she didn’t like being imprisoned that she switched bodies with me through magic..?”
I’ve only read some basic books about magic; …I find it hard to think such a thing is possible. I don’t think it’s possible, but it seems to fit the situation very well.
However, if such a thing is possible, why didn’t she switch bodies with Countess Lily Redgrave, rather than me, who is known as an ugly, evil and withdrawn person? I think that would be the best way for Lady Violet to move in her favor and become the worst harassment.
While guessing, an idea pop into my mind.
“…Lady Violet must have thought there wouldn’t be a big fuss even if a hikikomori with bad rumors disappeared, and discreetly changed my body to look like hers as well as to impersonate her!”
This is the most likely explanation. The real Lady Violet must be eating something amazing right now.
“I feel refreshed now that I solved the mystery. Well then, I should report it to Sir Knight… but will he listen to me….”
I don’t think he’ll believe me even if I tell him the story like this as he’s very distrustful. I am afraid he would look at me as if looking at mold growing on a piece of cheese.
As for me, I have no desire to return to Earl Alcott House. It’s only for three months, but I want to enjoy this prison life which is like a paradise, a little more.
“I will ask around about the situation of Earl Alcott House and if it doesn’t seem like they are searching for me, … I wonder I can stay here. No, I don’t think it’s right as a person. Just in case, it might be better to tell…”
I hold my head in distress. Then I noticed something’s inside the thick bracelet which have lots of sparkling jewels on it.
I took off the bracelet and opened it to find a small white piece of paper. On it, in beautiful handwriting, it’s written,
“I will do you an honor.
Protect that body without a single scratch.”
