I Became a Scoundrel of a Chaebol Family-Chapter 439: 43. Muyeol’s Amusement

The time I spent at the Solar Palace spanned from Friday, August 21st, to this morning, Monday, August 24th.

It wasn’t that long, but with how tumultuous those days were, it felt like I’d been there forever.

“Barely made it out. Whew.”

I threw myself onto the bed in the mansion at Muyeol Land and let out a sigh.

Back on the morning of the 21st, when I was about to leave with Go Minji, Go Hayan and Go Seonyul barged in. Things had been tense from the start, and from then on, it was just a nonstop string of high-strung incidents.

Especially the catfights between the Go girls...

‘Just that alone could justify calling it hell difficulty.’

Minji and Hayan’s bickering was still kind of cute. But Min-young and Hayoung... if I mishandled that, shit would go nuclear.

Still, I guess they all intellectually understand my position. Even when I ran away like this, they more or less let it slide.

That’s a relief.

I mean, Go Minji—or rather, Go Minji, and again, Go Minji—unleashed a storm of profanity through chat, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary considering our usual conversations.

“I need some healing.”

Victory Day had been nothing but nonstop tension.

Sure, I didn’t do any work for several days, so you could call that rest. But honestly, I felt way too exhausted for that.

What I needed now was a deep, peaceful sense of mental healing.

“And for that, Dantto’s the best.”

With that in mind, I decided to pay a visit to the intel team where Dantto belonged.

I also had something I needed to hand over to them.

“Oh! You’re back, Master!”

“Lord!”

“Ugh...?”

The intel team had a pretty lean setup.

There was my second exclusive knight, Eunhwa; Seo Eun-mi (a.k.a. Ha Eun-young), a former NIS spy who defected to me after discovering the true nature of the NIS (Abyss); Ma Yeon-ju, also a former NIS agent who broke under my drug-based conditioning; and Dantto, who I picked up during the Namdong Industrial Complex operation.

Seo Eun-mi, Ma Yeon-ju, and Eunhwa all greeted me warmly.

But Dantto?

The little shit twisted her face like she’d just seen something horrible.

She corrected her expression right away—but I saw that, you brat.

“‘Ugh’? Is that what you say when you see your Master?”

Immediate punishment.

While everyone else was working, Dantto was sprawled out on a mat doing yoga, so I grabbed her chubby cheeks and yanked them hard.

“Hieeeeengh!!”

It’s almost fascinating how much Dantto’s cheeks stretch.

Like pulling on a sticky rice cake. There’s a weird satisfaction to it.

“Wh-Why are you only mean to meeeee...!”

“Because you’re the only one who acts up, dumbass.”

I let go once she looked like she /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ was about to cry.

With tears brimming in her eyes, she glared at me.

What a cheeky little thing.

“What? Are you blaming me now?”

“N-No... I mean, no, sir...”

“Speak clearly.”

“Eegh...!”

She trembled and steamed with frustration but couldn’t disobey me in the end.

She’s a pet, after all. That’s how it should be.

“Wh-Why are you here...”

“I was under a lot of stress in Pyongyang. Came for some healing. I need some peace of mind, you know?”

“H-Healing...??”

I pulled out the snack I brought for Dantto.

A castella I’d ‘borrowed’ from the kitchen on my way over.

“Here. Open up~”

“...W-What are you going to do after feeding me...?”

“Just open up already.”

“...”

She hesitated, having been burned many times before, but finally opened her little mouth.

I shoved the soft sponge cake in.

“Mmfff...”

“Eat up, Dantto.”

“Mmmm...”

Chewing nervously, Dantto glared at me while using her hand to cram the rest of the cake into her mouth.

Her cheeks puffed out like balloons. I poked one side with my finger, and she shifted it to the other side.

“Don’t do that.”

“Too bad.”

So I poked the other cheek. And she moved it again.

Just messing around like that, with no thoughts at all, made my mind feel blissfully blank.

“Mmm, mmm...”

“All done?”

“Mmhm...”

“Was it good?”

Dantto didn’t reply, just nodded.

“Yeah? Then go run it off.”

“Kyaah?!”

“Do you know how many calories are in castella? You’re gonna get fat, piggy.”

“Y-You’re the one who fed me!!”

“Ten laps. Now!”

Smack! I slapped her back, and she screamed as she bolted out to the track.

“You’re so meeeaaan!!!”

Her assigned secretary followed her out for a jog.

Watching two beauties run side by side, their breasts bouncing with every stride, filled me with deep serenity.

“...You really did just come here to relax.”

Maybe that moment struck her as odd—Eunhwa came up and made a small remark.

“What does Dantto usually do?”

“Nothing much. She’s a field agent, after all. Like you saw today, she mostly works out, stays ready for the real thing.”

“Got it.”

Still watching Dantto, I reached around and wrapped an arm around Eunhwa’s waist.

She didn’t pull away—in fact, she leaned into me.

Feeling her soft body press against mine, I kissed her temple and grabbed her breast with my free hand.

“Ahh... Lord...”

“Feels like they got a little bigger?”

“Not really... but I’m always... ready...”

With her absolute loyalty—and the brainwashing—I knew Eunhwa’s love and obedience to me ran deeper than anything.

Even if I tried to kill her, she’d still look at me with those burning eyes.

Beautiful women, under my control in every way imaginable.

That made me feel so good, I kept fondling Eunhwa while watching Dantto run.

By the time my cock had not just gotten hard but even started leaking precum, I figured it was time to get to business.

“I didn’t just come to play.”

“Oh?”

I signaled to Seunghee, who had been quietly observing beside me.

She handed an envelope to Seo Eun-mi, the intel team leader.

“Information acquired by the Master.”

Seo Eun-mi immediately pulled out the contents and began reading at lightning speed.

Her eyes moved faster than I could ever hope to match.

“CSA and Abyss... are doing joint research...?”

“Seems like they’ve got something like Daemain on their side too. They’re developing something called super serum to turn ordinary people into superhumans. But it’s a little different from how things work here in the East, right?”

“...Yes. Knights are genetically engineered from the ground up, and even the Ma-in from Biotech aren’t exactly made from ordinary humans. But if this super serum really can turn normal people into superhumans...”

“I brought the recipe too.”

“...! H-How did—”

“My soulmate Anastasia kindly handed it over. One of the American conglomerate types.”

“Woooow.”

Seo Eun-mi skimmed the document and passed it to Eunhwa.

Eunhwa flipped through it almost faster than the human eye could follow—like two seconds tops.

“Looks worth investigating. But... we’re the intel team. Why are you handing this to us...?”

“They say Abyss is developing something called S-Type. Probably a next-gen Daemain, I’m guessing. My theory is that the S-Type is a Daemain enhanced with the super serum. So here’s the thing—”

I want the S-Type.

I want to know what makes it tick.

Which means we’ll have to shake Abyss down a little.

“Consider this a heads-up. Also—apparently CSA developed some kind of rideable mecha-type weapon? If we raid Abyss, we might dig up intel on that too.”

“Rideable weapons...?”

“Yeah. Seems like their side’s been real tight-knit lately. Time to flip Abyss inside out.”

“Mmm... actually, I did find something worth reporting to you, Master.”

“Oho?”

Seo Eun-mi hurried to her desk and returned with a device.

“Abyss is structured as a tightly compartmentalized cell network. Even most NIS agents don’t know it exists.”

She brought up a hologram.

The familiar map of Incheon.

“There aren’t enough breadcrumbs to trace back to a proper Abyss branch yet. But during the Namdong Industrial Complex reconstruction project you’re overseeing, I found a suspicious detail—”

The map zoomed in on a section of Namdong and brought up profiles of six individuals.

They looked completely ordinary—two elderly couples, and two sets of younger couples.

“Assemblywoman Heo Yewon’s parents founded a construction company and put in a bid.”

“A bid? You mean they’re trying to take over construction in the Complex?”

“Yes. And it’s basically a done deal, thanks to Heo Yewon’s influence.”

Heo Yewon... that’s the identity being used by NIS spy Park Hyejeong.

She murdered a real person, wore an imposter mask, and started acting the role.

I decided to corrupt Park Hyejeong financially to suit her twisted ideals.

Now, she’s practically a core figure in the political sphere—people even assume she’s part of the direct Go Muyeol line.

“On the surface, it just looks like nepotism involving a top policy figure of the Peaceful Incheon Party and a rep from the Incheon Public Safety Restoration Committee—”

“But in reality, it’s an NIS... or Abyss operation? Isn’t that a bit too blatant?”

“They probably think we haven’t uncovered Park Hyejeong’s true identity. So they must’ve assumed this was safe.”

“Fair point.”

No way in hell they’d guess it.

That their cover’s already blown.

“And exploiting family connections is totally their style. Even I—”

Seo Eun-mi glanced toward Ma Yeon-ju.

“Used to be paired with Yeon-ju unnie.”

Back when Seo Eun-mi was an active NIS agent, Ma Yeon-ju played her mother. She ran a sashimi joint. Some guy named ‘V’ pretended to be her dad—a deep-sea fisherman or something.

If the NIS is doing the same thing again, it’s entirely possible Heo Yewon’s family members are also agents.

“Okay. There’s enough to be suspicious. Come to think of it—Seunghee, didn’t Park Hyejeong switch committees? To the Intelligence Oversight Committee?”

“Yes. She’s currently serving as Chair.”

“Damn. Our girl Hyejeong really made it.”

The Intelligence Oversight Committee.

Put simply, it manages budgets, reports, and operational oversight for domestic intelligence activity.

Putting NIS spy Park Hyejeong in charge of the very committee that’s supposed to supervise NIS operations?

This was all part of the plan—to feed and flip her.

From the NIS’s perspective, they must be overjoyed.

Not only are their agents embedded already, but their own spy is now the damn committee chair.

‘So that’s why they’re getting bold. Their watchdog is Hyejeong, after all.’

Good sign.

“Seunghee. Just like you said, huh? Well, assuming Heo Yewon’s parents are agents.”

I don’t really care what they try to pull in Namdong.

If they go nuts and set up a full Abyss branch there, all the better for me.

‘I’ve got knights—I might as well use them.’

Having power but nowhere to unleash it? That shit drives you crazy.

You need an outlet.

“Keep watching for now. And gather proof that Heo Yewon’s parents are agents.”

“Understood, Master.”

“In the meantime... maybe I’ll go pay Hyejeong a little visit.”

Gotta check how her corruption’s coming along.

Time to slide her some more cash—and maybe something else too.
