Chapter 33: 33:Kid These Days Aren’t Durable Enough

Developer of Character..

Even now, I find it hard to process this information.

"Do you want to know about Theasre and Sunta?" Reed asked, looking at my thoughtful face.

"Nah... No need to waste time talking about weaklings. My brain cells deserve better treatment."

"Leaving them aside, what do you think about Elderic.. Know anything about him?"

Reed paused, chewing the grass and rubbing his chin. "His background is the same shitty ass life."

"Happy life.. Happy parents that were run over to death by Chaos beasts, due to which he vowed to get stronger and stronger until he was spotted by Silvia who rescued him from the thrash."

"Then he awakened."

"Hmm!" I nodded slowly.

Classic protagonist package. Dead parents, tragic backstory, sudden awakening.

Very original.

"So what about mystic?" I asked.

"His mystic is Mana Burst that allows mana to compress and explode in various ways." Reed spoke.

"And as for Eleanor.. I think you should already know it."

"Of course.. After all, it’s quite famous."

"So did they manage to scratch Instructor Austin in the script!"

Hearing this, Reed cast a bitter smile.

"This didn’t happen originally!"

My brows furrowed.

"This didn’t happen?"

"Ummm!"

"Originally Sir Austin gave instructions and did brutal in training, causing everyone to complain, but your presence seemed to change it."

I slowly grinned.

"Going off script since the beginning.... I fucking love it."

Stories are fun.

But breaking the story?

That is art.

I then eyed Reed.

"So... did the development points change?"

Reed paused for a moment, thinking about it, then pulled out the laptop from space and checked it.

"AHHH!"

"What happened?"

"Damn.. It changed to 18."

I clicked my tongue.

"Tsk.. Tsk.. You are really useless."

Reed flinched.

"One point change might be because of me interacting with you. Otherwise you would have remained completely useless."

I leaned back lazily.

"A developer that can’t even develop properly... aren’t you being a little too pathetic?"

The more I spoke, the lower Reed’s head went down.

Lower.

Lower.

Lower.

Until it looked like his head was about to be planted into the ground like a depressed ostrich.

BOOOOOOOM!

The ground trembled in the distance.

Dust rose into the air.

I looked toward the direction of the explosion and grinned.

"OHHH! Something exciting seems to be happening."

Finally,

Entertainment.

........

"Ahh... That’s two very big fatty chickens." Austin spoke as he casually dodged the huge greatsword swing filled with brutal force while flaming arrows rained down from the side.

The massive blade slammed into the ground—

CRAAACK!

Stone shattered and dust exploded everywhere.

"Sir... can you stop describing us like that.." Eleanor spoke with an annoyed expression as flames surged around her palm.

FWOOOSH!

She launched a blazing spiral of fire straight toward Austin.

Austin didn’t even look serious.

Slap.

With a lazy swing of his hand, he smacked the attack away like someone brushing off a mosquito.

The flame projectile reversed direction—

BOOOOM!

It exploded far away behind Eleanor.

"I will once you chick grows up."

Eleanor’s eyebrow twitched.

Meanwhile—

THUD!

Elderic dashed forward again.

His greatsword dragged across the ground before he suddenly lifted it with explosive force.

BOOM!

The ground cracked beneath his feet as he accelerated.

"RAAAAAH!"

The greatsword swung horizontally with terrifying momentum.Austin leaned backward slightly.

SWOOSH!

The blade cut through the air inches from his nose.

"Hm?"

Austin raised a brow.

Elderic suddenly stepped again—

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Each step shattered the ground as he accelerated faster and faster, swinging again and again.

CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

The massive sword carved the training field apart. Austin easily sidestepped every strike.

"That’s good application."

He nodded approvingly while casually dodging another swing.

"Your footwork isn’t trash anymore."

Elderic’s veins bulged.

Before he could reply—

"FLAME LANCE!"

Eleanor thrust her hand forward.

A huge spear of fire condensed instantly and shot toward Austin.

FWOOOOOOOSH!

Austin glanced at it.Then casually raised his foot.

KICK.

BOOM!

The flame lance exploded into sparks like cheap fireworks.

Eleanor stared in disbelief, making Austin sigh.

"You two attack like angry house pets."

Elderic roared.

"STOP TALKING!"

BOOOOOOM!

Mana surged around his body.

The sword glowed violently.

"MANA BURST!"

The blade suddenly compressed enormous mana inside it.

Then—

Elderic swung.

The sword detonated with explosive force.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

Eleanor widened her eyes as she saw the huge mass of force that expanded and was grabbed by a raw fist.

Austin stood there and grabbed the exploding sword.

With his bare hand.

The explosion distorted around his grip.

CRRRRRRRR..

Austin frowned slightly.

"Too noisy."

His fingers tightened.

The raging mana burst began compressing.

The explosion folded inward. Like a crushed balloon. The surrounding air warped.

Space twisted.

Even Elderic froze.Austin casually lifted the sword.Still holding the compressed explosion.

"Oh."

He looked at it.

Then casually tossed it upward.

"Take that back."

WHOOSH!

The compressed force shot up high into the sky.

Three seconds later—

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A massive explosion erupted in the clouds.

The shockwave spread across the sky.

Back on the ground—

Silence.

Austin dusted his hands.

"See?"

He looked at the two students.

"You should always clean up after making a mess."

Elderic stood frozen while Eleanor blinked slowly.

Austin stretched his shoulders.

Then suddenly appeared in front of them.

Both froze.

Austin smiled.

"Round two."

THWACK!

He punched Elderic in the stomach.

"GHHH—!" Elderic’s face distorted as he felt his stomach was crushed, and the next moment he was punched in the face that smashed him brutally on the ground with a loud thump.

Eleanor by this time was already on the run, but by then a hand was already placed on her head, making her tremble.

She turned her head in robotic motion and saw Austin’s wild smile.

"Sir, I have such a pretty face.. You can’t punc-" she didn’t even finish when Austin slammed his fist.

"Sorry, everyone got beaten so I can’t leave you."

BANGGG!"

Eleanor folded like a broken chair.

BONK!

Austin then knocked her on the head.

"Too slow."

Eleanor collapsed.

Austin placed his hands on his hips and sighed.

"Kids these days."

He shook his head and looked at the mess."They don’t have durability."
