I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 199: The Fish Who Wants To Help His Mate
"At least in our relationship, isn’t it the same? You need us, and we need you too."
The moment Azul said that, Roxanna fell silent. She couldn’t form any words because all this time, she had been too focused on what she could give to others, but never the other way around.
No, it wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate them.
She did.
Every time her husbands gave her gifts or did something to make her life easier, she felt warm and happy. But because of that... she always felt like it wasn’t enough, like she hadn’t given them enough in return and she hated that feeling.
"Y-You don’t understand," Roxanna finally said. She lowered her head as she spoke. "It’s not that simple."
"Then help me understand," Azul said gently. He reached out and held her cheeks, lifting her face so she would look at him again. "Tell me what you’re thinking. Tell me what you want."
Azul could hear her thoughts, yes... but even then, there were still things he couldn’t fully understand.
Maybe it was because thoughts weren’t always clear. Sometimes, they were messy; mixed with true feelings, passing thoughts, and things a person didn’t even mean.
[Does he really want to hear the truth?] Roxanna asked herself. [He looks serious... but what if he gets angry?]
"I’m not afraid of honesty," Azul said suddenly. His voice was calm, but firm. "I would rather know the truth than live in a lie for a long time."
As he said that, there was something in his eyes, something quiet and heavy, as if those words came from his own experience, not just empty talk.
Had he been living in a lie? But he couldn’t even remember his past as clearly as the sky.
Still, no matter what had happened to him before, it was obvious that Azul hated lies. And because of that, Roxanna felt like she had no choice but to tell him the truth.
"Actually... the voice in my head told me that..." she started, biting her lower lip. For a moment, she hesitated, unsure if she should continue. "...that if I want to stay alive, I have to mate with one of my husbands."
Azul already knew that information, but since this was the first time Roxanna said it out loud, he tried his best to look surprised.
He gasped. "What? Really?" he said, adding a slightly exaggerated tone. "How is that even possible?"
[Is he angry?] Roxanna wondered nervously. [No, no, no... he doesn’t look angry. I think he’s just shocked.]
But what kind of person wouldn’t be shocked when they found out that someone had to have sex just to gain more lifespan?
"Y-Yeah," Roxanna replied softly. "Every time I mate with one of my husbands, I gain five more days to live. And if I don’t... then I’ll die."
She looked at Azul hesitantly, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I-I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to take advantage of all of you like this. It just... suddenly became this way."
Back then, Roxanna had even made up her mind that she was ready to let herself die rather than force her husbands to mate with her.
But everything changed after the first time Azul mated with her. After that... it became harder and harder for her to let go of her life.
"Y-You’ll die?!" Azul still pretended to be confused, as if he didn’t know anything about her remaining lifespan. "How many days do you have left? Is today your last day?"
"No... that’s not good."
He suddenly leaned closer, his presence pressing against her. It almost felt like he was trapping her within his arms.
"My wife..." he said in a low voice. "Let me extend your lifespan now."
Roxanna’s eyes widened, her mind going blank for a moment and she looked completely confused.
[W-Wait! Didn’t I just admit that I used him to save myself? So why... why isn’t he angry? Why is he offering himself like this?!]
[Is Azul serious?]
The moment that thought crossed her mind, Azul gently pushed her back against the wall.
[Damn! He’s serious!]
"A-Azul, what are you doing?" Roxanna asked, pretending she didn’t understand what he meant.
"Didn’t you say earlier that you need to extend your lifespan by mating with one of your husbands?" Azul said, holding her chin so she couldn’t look away. "I don’t mind helping you."
He leaned closer, his breath brushing against her ear. "I don’t want to lose you, Roxanna," he whispered. "So let me do this for you."
[B-But I still have 154 days left because of my pregnancy.] Roxanna thought quickly. [That means I can survive even if I don’t mate with anyone for about five months.]
Azul’s eyes twitched slightly. To him, going five months without touching his wife sounded worse than being thrown into the middle of the ocean.
But why wasn’t Roxanna saying that clearly? Could it be that she actually wanted Azul to mate with her right now?
"Do you want that?" he asked, his voice softer now, but his gaze still intense.
Roxanna looked away, her voice small and unsure. "I... I..." She paused, hesitating. Should she tell him the truth? Or just go along with it?
[Aelin won’t be back until noon... and Zeir is probably still busy.]
Her thoughts raced. [What about the others? Cyrus won’t come back until Calen and Luan return.]
There was a chance that Calen and Luan wouldn’t return anytime soon, since their meat supply was almost gone, and they needed to hunt more.
"Can you do it quickly?" Roxanna whispered. "Maybe... we can do it before the others come back."
Azul’s eyes immediately lit up, and his whole face brightening as excitement filled his heart.
"Quickly?" he repeated in a low voice, his lips curling into a faint smile.
Roxanna felt her face heat up under his gaze. She avoided his eyes, her fingers tightening slightly against his clothes.
"I-I mean..." she tried to explain, but her voice only grew softer. "Just... before they come back."
Azul let out a soft breath, clearly pleased. "My wife..." he murmured again, this time with a hint of teasing in his tone. "You’re the one who asked for it."
Before Roxanna could react, he leaned closer, closing the distance between them. One of his hands slid to her waist, pulling her gently against him.
Roxanna’s heart skipped a beat [W-Why is he suddenly so close?!]
She could feel his warmth, his steady breathing, and the way his hand held her firmly, yet carefully, like she was something precious.
Azul lowered his head slightly, his voice turning softer. "Don’t worry. I’ll be gentle."
That didn’t help at all.
Roxanna’s face turned even redder. "I-I didn’t say you have to—"
Before she could finish her words, Azul kissed her lips. Her eyes widened in shock as he caught both of her wrists and lifted them above her head, gently but firmly pinning her against the wall.
For a moment, Roxanna couldn’t even process what was happening.
[W-What...?]
She could hardly believe how quickly he had taken control. Back then, when they first got close in the pond, Azul had been inexperienced, almost clumsy.
But now, he felt completely different. Each kiss was deeper, more certain, as if he truly wanted to taste her, to memorize every bit of her.
Roxanna’s heart started beating faster. [D-Did he practice his kissing? But with who?!]
A small wave of jealousy rose in her chest, making her frown slightly.
The thought of Azul practicing with another woman made her feel strangely upset, but the truth was... he hadn’t.
He had only asked for some tips from... her other husbands, because he couldn’t help but feel irritated every time Roxanna looked so satisfied after being with them.
In truth, Azul was the first husband to mate her. But what was the point of being the first if he couldn’t truly bring her pleasure?
The moment Azul pulled away from the kiss, he brushed his lips against her skin, kissing her lips a few more times before moving down to her neck and shoulders. At the same time, his hands quickly pulled down Roxanna’s clothes, letting them fall to the floor.
Roxanna was shocked by how fast his hands moved, so she reflexively asked, "A-Azul, what’s gotten into you? Why are you suddenly so..."
She bit her lip, unsure how to finish her sentence.
But then Azul replied while his fingers moved from her stomach down to the sensitive place between her thighs. "You said you wanted to do it quickly. I’m just following your request."
Roxanna’s breath hitched the moment she felt his touch.
"A-Azul..." her voice came out softer than she expected, her body tensing slightly under his hands.
Azul paused for a brief second, lifting his gaze to meet hers. His eyes were darker now, filled with a mix of desire and something deeper, something almost restless.
"Will the voice inside your head give you more lifespan if I can make you feel so..." he bit the tip of her ear as he whispered, "...good?"
