I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan-Chapter 602 - 436: Fulfilling You_2
"Really?"
"Really. I just hope you won’t regret it."
"No, no." Tang Nan shook her head frantically. "How could I regret it? Go on, do my reading. How long do I have to live? Oh, and there’s no trouble headed my way soon, right? Will I get rich?"
The curious gazes of the others also fell on Xia Liang. But upon hearing Tang Nan’s words, he simply shook his head.
"I’m not going to read your fortune. I want to read for Commander Zheng first. I wonder, Commander Zheng, what would you like to know?"
At these words, Tang Nan froze for a moment before asking, "What about me?"
"You’re after Commander Zheng."
"Alright," Tang Nan agreed readily.
"Anything at all, Master Xia. Please, speak freely." Seeing that Xia Liang had finally agreed, Zheng Zhong didn’t dare press him with requests. His eyes, however, were filled with curiosity, wondering what Xia Liang was about to say. After all, he’d long heard the rumors that Master Xia’s fortune-telling was flawless, so he was full of anticipation.
Xia Liang put on a show, staring intently at Zheng Zhong’s face. He wiggled his fingers a few times as if making a calculation. After a few breaths, he acted.
SLAP.
Xia Liang slammed his palm on the table, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.
He began to speak slowly. "Tsk, tsk. Commander Zheng, your face is rather strange. It shows you will have offspring, but your son... he hasn’t been born yet!"
As he spoke, the surrounding crowd was stunned. Zheng Zhong felt his own heart skip a beat. But for a moment, no one fully grasped the meaning behind Xia Liang’s words, only sensing they contained a great deal of information.
Then, a second later, Xia Liang spoke his second sentence. "Let me give you a word of warning, Commander Zheng. You must never raise another man’s son."
You must never raise another’s child.
Xia Liang’s words slowly dissipated across the banquet hall.
Everyone around them was frozen in place. Wu Tong was the first to gasp. "Master Xia, are you saying that the child in Commander Zheng’s home isn’t his own flesh and blood?"
Hearing Wu Tong’s question, Xia Liang slowly nodded.
The others were thunderstruck by this revelation. The son of Commander Haojiang wasn’t his biological child?
In an instant, most of the people at the main table were watching Zheng Zhong and Tang Nan as if they were watching a good show. They all knew that Tang Nan’s current status was largely due to her recently giving birth to a healthy baby boy for the Zheng Family. But who would have thought that the child wasn’t Zheng Zhong’s at all?
Upon seeing Xia Liang’s confirming nod, Zheng Zhong’s expression instantly turned grim.
As for Tang Nan, who was beside him, all the color had drained from her face, leaving it deathly pale. She finally understood why Xia Liang had warned her not to regret it earlier. As the child’s mother, she knew perfectly well that the baby she had given birth to was not Zheng Zhong’s.
Nevertheless, she shot to her feet, pointing a finger at Xia Liang’s nose as she shrieked, "Bah! You’re nothing but a charlatan, a complete fraud! The child I gave birth to is a Zheng, for sure! Don’t you dare spout your nonsense here!"
After her outburst, she turned to Zheng Zhong. "Zheng Zhong, this boy is slandering me! Have him arrested and locked up! Zheng Zhong? What’s wrong with you? Say something!"
For once, Zheng Zhong didn’t respond. He just sat silently in his chair, his face dark, lost in thought.
Hearing Tang Nan’s tirade against Xia Liang, the host, He Youling, looked displeased and let out a cold snort. "You shrew! This is not the Zheng Family estate. And Master Xia would never make jokes about something so serious. Only you know who the father of that child really is."
The other guests, who had long found Tang Nan unbearable, began to murmur in agreement.
Tang Nan sensed the atmosphere turning against her. She hurriedly grabbed Zheng Zhong’s hand, trying to pull him up. "Let’s go, Zheng Zhong! I think everyone here has gone mad, completely brainwashed by that so-called Master Xia. Let’s go home..."
She tugged on Zheng Zhong’s hand, but he violently shook her off. Tang Nan was left standing there, stunned and unable to react. She had known Zheng Zhong for so long, and he had never, ever treated her like this.
A moment later, Zheng Zhong slowly lifted his head. He looked at Xia Liang, his expression deadly serious as he spoke. "Master Xia, you cannot make such claims lightly. Are you certain of this after just a single glance?"
Xia Liang nodded again and said flatly, "If Commander Zheng doesn’t believe me, a simple paternity test will prove it."
"Fine. I’ll go right now."
Zheng Zhong agreed and started to rise. But Tang Nan snapped completely, falling to her knees and clinging to his leg. She knew that once the paternity test was done, it was all over.
"Zheng Zhong, you’d rather believe a stranger than me, your own wife? You absolutely cannot do this! I swear, the child is yours! You can’t get a paternity test!"
But Zheng Zhong had already taken out his phone and was dialing the nanny’s number. "Sister Li, please take the baby to the hospital. I’m on my way."
He then shot Tang Nan a cold glare, his face a mask of fury. Anyone who wasn’t blind could see that she had something to hide. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be trying so desperately to stop him.
At the main table, Wu Tong sneered. "Since you claim the child is Commander Zheng’s, why are you stopping him? Isn’t it obvious you have a guilty conscience?"
Wu Tong had said exactly what everyone else was thinking.
Tang Nan, still clinging to Zheng Zhong, continued to hurl curses at Xia Liang. "It’s all your fault, you charlatan! You came here to drive a wedge between my husband and me! May you die a horrible death!"
Xia Liang scratched his ear and let out a cold laugh. Since you still won’t give up, I’ll just have to add more fuel to the fire!
"By the way," he said aloud, "I did say I’d read your fortune after Commander Zheng’s. You haven’t forgotten, have you?"
The onlookers were confused, wondering why he would still bother telling her fortune now.
Without waiting for her reply, Xia Liang continued with a faint smile, "Let me think... You became pregnant last August, if I’m not mistaken."
He then turned his gaze to Zheng Zhong. "Commander Zheng, you travel for business quite often, don’t you?"
Hearing this, Zheng Zhong nodded, his expression growing even darker. He understood the implication immediately. Last August, Tang Nan had frequently urged him to go on business trips. He hadn’t thought anything of it at the time, but looking back now, he realized that everything about that period felt wrong.
When Tang Nan heard Xia Liang mention the specific time, she erupted again. "You’re lying! Zheng Zhong was away on business, and I did nothing wrong at home! Stop spouting nonsense! If you have proof, then show it!"
"Proof, you say," Xia Liang sneered again. "It’s not that there isn’t any."
He looked back at Zheng Zhong. "Commander Zheng Zhong, I assume you’ve never checked Tang Nan’s phone, have you? She knows how much you trust her, so she probably hasn’t deleted certain messages."
At his words, all eyes shifted to a phone lying on the table where Tang Nan had been sitting.
Hearing this, Tang Nan became frantic and scrambled toward the main table to grab it.
However, Zheng Zhong was faster. He took a step forward, picked up the phone, and unlocked the screen. He quickly found an undeleted text message.
*Don’t worry. Zheng Zhong still thinks the child is his.*
Reading the message, Zheng Zhong’s face turned completely black.
Knowing there was no explaining her way out of this, Tang Nan threw all caution to the wind and clung desperately to Zheng Zhong’s leg. "He forced me! He drugged me! Zheng Zhong, the child’s surname is Zheng! He’s part of your Zheng Family! You can’t abandon us!"
