Chapter 327: War of The Eastern Lion 8

Realizing there was no way out left the enemy troops with no other choice. Escape was impossible. Fighting to the last drop of blood was their only remaining option.

One of the men raised his sword and pointed it forward. "Attack them!"

The enemy soldiers charged back into the city. Ethan smiled as he watched them rush in with desperation written all over their faces.

The battle erupted, unavoidable and fierce. The team members unleashed their skills, cutting down more of the city’s enemy soldiers while making sure they themselves remained unharmed.

Ten thousand enemy troops against sixty thousand soldiers of the Eastern Alliance. Even a child could see who held the advantage.

Ethan lifted his head toward the sky. A red light drifted toward him. It was Lyodra.

She had finished her task. Ethan ordered Lyodra to descend and join the fight, to kill as many enemy soldiers as possible.

Lyodra nodded without a word and shot down into the battlefield. Jack remained at Ethan’s side, staring ahead in awe.

He could not imagine what would happen to his city if the Alliance forces chose to wage war against them. They could bring the city down in less than five hours of combat.

"You’re not going to help them?" Jack asked.

"No," Ethan replied. "They’re more than capable of crushing the enemy forces on their own."

"If I join the battle, they won’t gain any experience."

Jack nodded. Ethan was right. The city’s soldiers were only NPCs, but the team members were not.

They were players with skills and lives. A battle like this would sharpen their combat abilities tremendously.

One of the Blazing Arrow team members approached and informed Jack that two sailing ships had been completed and were ready to depart.

"Well? Do you want to pick up the rest of your troops?" Jack asked.

Ethan remained silent, still watching the fight before him. Then he turned and shook his head.

"Not for now. There’s no need for reinforcements."

"After this battle is over, we’ll head to the coastal region to retrieve them," Ethan said firmly.

Jack nodded in understanding and turned his attention forward again.

The two men could see that the enemy troops had decreased significantly. Many enemy team members were wounded or dead, sending their team leaders into panic and fear.

"Protect me! You, get over here and protect me!" one of them shouted.

The Alliance forces no longer focused on the enemy soldiers but targeted the enemy team members instead.

They were overwhelmed, with many Eastern Alliance members attacking them together.

Their stamina was drained, their MP nearly depleted. The Eastern Alliance team members far outnumbered them.

"Keep fighting! Don’t give up!"

Thirty minutes passed. Not a single enemy soldier remained. They all lay dead on the blood-soaked ground.

A siege was formed, preventing the enemy team members from escaping. Watching the moment unfold, Ethan motioned for Jack to go with him.

They mounted their horses and rode swiftly from the southern gate toward the battlefield.

One of the alliance team members turned and saw Ethan arriving with Jack. He immediately informed his unit commander.

"Stop the fight. Sir Ethan has arrived!"

They halted their attacks and stepped back. The twenty-seven remaining enemy team members breathed in relief.

Many of them were exhausted, sitting on the blood-drenched battlefield.

The alliance troops parted, creating a path for Ethan and Jack. The three enemy team leaders turned, their eyes sharpening as Ethan approached on horseback.

"An impressive fight, but you couldn’t even kill half my forces," Ethan said firmly.

He stopped his horse in front of the enemy team members, who had formed a circular formation to protect their three leaders.

"Sir Ethan!" one of them called out.

"Please... let us live, Sir Ethan!"

"We surrender. We’re tired of fighting!"

Several enemy team members said this, but their leaders shouted curses at them, calling them useless.

"Calling your team members useless is excessive. Do you even realize who was protecting your backs during the war?" Ethan asked coldly.

"Bring those three out of the formation."

Alliance team members dragged them forward. Some resisted, but the alliance soldiers showed no hesitation.

Soon, the three enemy leaders were kneeling before Ethan, their eyes filled with sharp hatred.

"Arthur will never let you go!" one of them barked.

Ethan grinned. "Arthur will die in this event!"

"Kill them."

The three unit commanders drew their swords and thrust them into the stomachs of the three team leaders.

Not a single enemy team member reacted in anger, only shock and fear.

One by one, the enemy leaders fell, blood pooling beneath them. Their core crystals dropped to the ground.

Ethan immediately picked them up without hesitation.

Slowly, the bodies of all the remaining enemy team members began to glow with a bright blue light.

"Thank you for your mercy, Sir Ethan," one of them said.

In an instant, they were teleported out of the event and returned to the game world. Ethan looked ahead as the event panel appeared before his eyes. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Ethan sent a message to Leny, informing her that he had defeated the forces in the city owned by the Blazing Arrow Guild.

He also told her how many core crystals they had obtained. Leny understood and immediately recorded everything.

"Thank you for helping us, Sir Ethan."

Ethan nodded and gently patted Jack’s shoulder, saying that this assistance was part of their agreement.

"We’ll rest on this island. You all return to the city first," Ethan said. The alliance troops and team members obeyed.

He and Jack left the battlefield on foot. As they walked, Jack asked about Ethan’s next plan in his invasion against the Redemption Sword Alliance.

"With three of their military units destroyed, that leaves four remaining."

"I’ve already sent my servants to both islands to guard them for the time being," Ethan said.

As the two of them walked back toward the city, a Blazing Arrow team member ran up to Jack.

"Captain!"

"What is it?" Jack asked.

"Sir Peter... he’s here."

"Peter?" Ethan asked, confused. "Who is he?"

"The leader of the Sword Legend Guild, the ruler of the archipelago."

"It seems my adjutant informed Sir Peter about your presence and your forces," Jack explained.

"He’s here to discuss something with Sir Ethan," the team member added.

"Alright. We’d better not keep him waiting."
