He shivered all over, finally realizing he was at the He Family’s old house.

He had no choice but to let go of He Ziyi, stepping back, his Adam’s apple moving up and down several times before he managed to suppress his desire.
“What are you two doing?” Liu Minjun came up the stairs, her voice tinged with amusement.
“Mom.” He Ziyi greeted Liu Minjun, her gaze still curiously fixed on a particular spot on Pei Yuanchen, with a hint of puzzlement.
“Auntie.” Pei Yuanchen turned around, already back to looking nonchalant, “Ziyi is reporting in tomorrow. I was asking her how it would be best to arrange things then.”
Liu Minjun chuckled warmly, “Ziyi’s situation isn’t suitable for dorm living, so I rented an apartment near the school for her. I’ll have Madam Wang from our house go take care of her. You’re welcome to stay there too if you’d like.”
“That’s good.” Pei Yuanchen tugged at the corner of his mouth, “I have another place to stay, Auntie, no need to worry.”
Liu Minjun maintained her cheerful grin, giving Pei Yuanchen a slightly unsettling feeling.
He kept thinking… he inexplicably got tangled up with this family.
“Auntie, I have other matters to attend to, I’ll take my leave. I’ll come back the day after tomorrow.” Pei Yuanchen decided swiftly to make his exit.
“Won’t you stay for dinner? Jingyao and the others aren’t gone yet.” Liu Minjun smiled, trying to keep him.
“Godfather assigned me some tasks that I need to handle.” Pei Yuanchen lied without changing his expression.
“Oh, I see. Then let Ziyi walk you out.” Liu Minjun smiled broadly, glancing at He Ziyi.
He Ziyi immediately understood and cheerfully stepped forward, “Uncle Xiaobao, let me walk you out.”

As Pei Yuanchen walked out of the He Family’s old house, he finally exhaled a long breath, looking at the smiling He Ziyi beside him, finding her increasingly annoying.
“You should hurry back.” He said coldly, pulling out his keys and heading towards his car.
“Uncle Xiaobao.” But then He Ziyi conspiratorially leaned in, “I remembered, your little brother just had a physiological reaction, that’s why it was hard, right?”
Her tone carried a hint of smugness.
Over the years, she had read quite a few books too.
Pei Yuanchen stared at her, stunned speechless for a while.
He was wrong, he was truly wrong.
This woman is an oddball! She’s not completely clueless, she just doesn’t take such matters seriously at all, and he actually expected her to be shy.
“Am I wrong?” He Ziyi blinked.

With that, he tossed the car key upward, caught it, and turned to leave.
If he stayed any longer, he’d either be infuriated by this woman or by himself.
He Ziyi stood there dazed, watching his back, somewhat bewildered.
Before long, Pei Yuanchen got into his car and sped away.
He Ziyi turned her head and noticed that Liu Minjun had also come out at some point, standing beside her.
“Mom, Uncle Xiaobao doesn’t seem to like me very much. He’s always glaring at me and being stern.” Ziyi complained a bit.
Liu Minjun still smiled broadly, “No, that actually shows he likes you.”
“Really?” He Ziyi immediately shifted from cloudy to sunny.
“Really.” Liu Minjun chuckled, “Would you like to live with him?”
Ziyi nodded.
“Mom will help you.” Liu Minjun continued to chuckle.
