I can expand my MAGIC ENDLESSLY?!-Chapter 13: Glimpse of Her
Three months had passed since Kairos’s new life began.
Emily looked at Kairos, who was still posing in front of the mirror with his new clothes.
"Young master, are you done yet?"
Kairos was surprised when he looked back, noticing Emily was there.
"Sorry. I’m done now."
He then turned back to his mirror for one last check as he muttered silently.
’Good grief, she’s everywhere.’
During the past few months, he had trained relentlessly at all times. Either when it was during the training session or even when he was confined in his own room.
His body had now changed so much that people could even mistake his age if they only saw his muscular body and his face.
Today, he was dressed in a fitted white shirt with buckled up trousers with leather straps and a grayish jacket with dark black gloves wrapped around his hands.
In simple words, he looked like crap. But he had to. The reason why he was dressed so handsomely was because the place they were going today was special with significant importance.
And at the same time, it is also quite troublesome. Kairos let out a quiet sigh and followed Emily out of the room. A polished carriage waited at the gate, even the horses adorned with black leather vests.
Emily opened the door and stepped aside. Kairos climbed in, taking the seat by the window. In front of him were his father and mother neatly worn up.
His father was wearing a simple grayish suit, nothing flashy, while his mother was the opposite, she was wearing all red, with her hair tied up and adorned with beautiful looking hairpins. Looking more elegant than usual.
She wore a skirt that hid her fair legs. She was holding a decorated black folding fan.
Seeing Kairos staring at them.
Valeria smiled and spoke up, "Your mother looks beautiful today, doesn’t she?"
Kairos coughed a bit hearing it. He still hadn’t adjusted himself to the fact that this lady was his mother now.
He could only look away a bit. "Yes."
His mother smiled as she looked at his husband. "He says I’m beautiful. Why can’t you say it too?"
Causing Lucian to flinch still, he hesitated looking at his son before finally saying, "Yes, you are beautiful as always."
Causing Valeria smiled blossomed even more as she hugged her husband. "There you go, how hard is it to compliment your wife like that!"
Lucian tried to put her away, with faint blushes appearing on his cheeks. "He’s here."
"So what?"
Kairos could only pretend not to look at this couple being so lovey dovey. Complaining within, why! Can they be so indecent in front of their own child like this!
After a moment, the carriage started to move. And finally their parents become normal.
"Kairos, please behave. Well there. The most I’m worried about is you," Valeria spoke with concern.
"I will, Mother; I will behave," Kairos spoke with little hint of annoyance.
This was the reason he hated this kind of thing. As for why they were going. It was at the capital for the king of this kingdom, King Damorian Velmor. One of the strongest people in the whole continent achieved the legendary stage of the kings, the seventh star.
All nobles are invited there along with many coming from overseas for today’s event. And thus they had to attend to it. No matter how small their status was as a puny baron, they had to attend.
Just thinking about how he had to greet others and behave like a good kid. He was annoyed, but he also knew it was a good opportunity to know and gather information.
______
"Kairos, we are here."
Kairos, hearing the words, gazed, peering through the window at the vast city walls. Finally, after days of restless traveling, they arrived.
At the capital of the Velmor kingdom, the place where the Velmore royal family resides and which is named after them.
The Velmora City
As they got closer, rows of rows of carriages arrived bearing all kinds of symbols indicating where they were from.
Kairos even recognized some, as they were from the other neighboring kingdom that surrounds the Velmor kingdom, the Veldas kingdom.
Just as he thought of that, a sudden thought struck him. He was sure of it. That’s the crest of the Dukedom of Lorensia Noblehouse of Veldas! If they even are! That means...
Soon enough he saw the crest he was looking for, the crest bore a rose nestled between a sleeping snake.
The crest of the Lioree Dukedom! Of the Valdas Empire. The family that he once served in his past life.
His heart started beating faster and faster just thinking about the possibility of getting a glimpse of the one he once served! And the one he failed to save in his past life.
That made him regret it for the rest of his life, pinning him down to the very core. It was the person he served and also the person he loved. Unfortunately, it was too late for him to realize that. Thus, in his past life, he couldn’t even convey his true feelings before she died.
"Cartalia, I will protect you this time." Kairos’s heart trembled, remembering the once cold body he carried and as a knight, he failed to protect.
His heart steeled the more he thought about the past, but he didn’t let out a shard of emotions, only starting at the carriage before it disappeared from sight, getting blocked by another carriage.
If he could, he felt like tearing apart this carriage, blocking his view from the one person he longed to see.
But he knows he can’t, he has to wait. Soon their own carriage passed the huge gates of the city of city of velmor, if we compare the size and the grandeur of the city. It was at least five to six times the size of their Nozvan estate.
The roads were large enough to fit seven or eight carriages to pass side by side. Still, despite that, the roads were crowded to the brim.
All coming to congratulate the king, one of the strongest people on the continent who achieved the legendary 7th circle. The circle of kings.
Soldiers and knights in white guided the carriages along the path. Barons and half-noble households lined the right side, while prominent guests, dukes, and representatives from the Seven Crest Towers took the main road leading to the central castle.
It took nearly half an hour for their carriage to reach the castle, finally setting them down at its grand entrance.
With the rows of butlers’ guidance, they entered the grand banquet hall, decorated to the brim. Causing many to gaze in admiration, as for many this decoration is enough to run their state for a year or more.
But Kairos didn’t care, his heart was restless somewhere else. He appeared calm outside, but his eyes, his soul, were yearning to meet someone to get one simple glimpse.
The banquet hall had multiple platforms. One being a level higher than the past one.
They were seated, giving them a small white table at the lower platform, where the majority of the nobles are seated. The higher platform had a low number of seats, mostly for the dukes and prominent guests, and last was the grand stage where the royals will sit.
Most of the lower platform tables were already filled up. As for the higher ones, they were mostly empty.
Kairos glanced at the tables, but alas, there were no shards of her. He did see a few he was familiar with, and Leia Skylark was sitting right beside a middle-aged man with sharp white eyes and stripes of black hair.
Most probably her father, talking with someone.
"Kairos, look, isn’t that Leia? Go talk to her," Valeria spoke.
Causing Kairos to frown before speaking, ’I don’t want to.’
The heck of going to meet her? To do what? chit-chat or something? He has more important things to do.
Slowly as time passes, more and more seats fill up. And the person he’s hoping to get a glimpse of still hasn’t shown up.
Through this, many came to talk to them, which includes the neighboring territorial barons, who were the Falcrest and the Corhill noble households.
They didn’t have a good relationship between them, considering how they tried to taunt them with words beneath their smiling face. That annoyed him the most as he waited, if he could he would have shoved a big huge shovel on their faces.
But alas, he had to control himself. Soon the waiting will end shortly the main figure will arrive while most guests are already taking their seats.
After such a long wait, Kairos felt like fate would play a cruel game with him and the person he’s looking for won’t come.
At the last moment, from the corner of his eyes, he gazed at a certain table. It was empty, and now it was filled with people—exactly three people sitting there.
It was a man with hair as white as snow and a mature woman with pink hair, and in the middle of both of them sat a girl around his age. Wearing a dashing white dress highlighting her delicate face, even more warped around by her soft white hair with hints of pink, she seemed like she was glowing through the lights.
Kairos glanced at her, heart beating quickly. There she was, the person he always longed for.
The daughter of Duke Marcel Lioree, Cartalia Lioree, was smiling, greeting a girl.
Kairos’s worries vanished seeing the smile plastered on her face. He unknowingly stood up. His turmoil emotions are about to escape any moment.
But before he could, though, a hand gripped him firmly. Kairos looked down; it was his mother. What are you doing? Sit down.’
Kairos opened his mouth, gazing at Cartalia before at her mother. ’I just want to...’
"Sit down; the king is about to arrive."
And as soon as she spoke, the horns blared and the announcer shouted. "The Royal Velmor Family entering"
Hearing the blaring, Kairos could only sit reluctantly. Slowly calming himself down, he gazed at Cartalia before gazing at the ones who stopped him from meeting her with some resentment.
The very royal family that governs their kingdom. The Velmore royal family and the person who was leading them, the king, Damrian Valmor.
