I Can Give Talents-Chapter 451 - Quantum Eye
The area above grew even darker.
Leyvi extended his spiritual sense higher, but it was swallowed by the void. There was nothing. No glowing plants, no reflected light, not even the faintest outline of the surroundings.
With no other choice, he formed a dim ball of light, just bright enough to outline the stairs beneath his feet and the nearby walls.
He moved carefully. If the light was too bright, it might be noticed from below, and that would lead to trouble. If the factions discovered that someone could freely access the upper levels and the portals, they would definitely try to seize control. Being captured or monitored was the last thing Leyvi wanted.
"Hmm... when I have time, I really need to learn all the advanced abilities of spiritual sense," he muttered while ascending. "Vision, smell, taste, hearing, touch. Spiritual sense can replicate all of them, and each has deeper levels."
He paused briefly, then continued walking. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Right now, I can only use the most common one, spiritual vision. Sure, my see-through spiritual vision is already ridiculously advanced, but that was pure luck."
Leyvi chuckled softly.
"It would be nice if I got lucky again and unlocked night vision. Seeing clearly in the dark would be very helpful right now."
He continued climbing, step by step, his dim light barely pushing back the darkness.
Meanwhile, far below, Ava finally finished listening to the mysterious voice echoing in her mind.
She frowned.
Most of it made no sense to her. It felt like absorbing information from a jade slip, yet the content was on an entirely different level. Vast, abstract, and overwhelming. She could barely grasp any of it.
"What was that all about?" she muttered. "Quantum Eye? What the heck is quantum? And why was there a voice?"
Her gaze swept around warily.
"Is there a Nascent Soul remnant nearby?"
That was the only explanation she could come up with. Sometimes, cultivators would stumble upon fragments of a destroyed Nascent Soul and receive memories or techniques from it.
That had to be it.
At least, that was what Ava believed had just happened.
"Lady Ava. You have been distracted for a bit. Is there anything wrong?" Rose asked, her tone carefully polite.
"None of your business," Ava replied, her voice as unfriendly as ever.
She still had not forgotten what had happened. The polite, accommodating woman before her was only acting this way because her technique had backfired. In reality, Rose was a vicious and manipulative person. Ava could not bring herself to like her, no matter the current circumstances.
Lily and Liyan were quietly fuming at Ava’s blatant disrespect toward their Holy Maiden, but they could only swallow their anger for now.
"Fufufu~. You are wrong, Lady Ava," Rose said, her smile unwavering. "It is my business now. Darling just asked me to take care of you. How can I disregard my beloved’s wishes? Just tell me if you need anything. I will help as best I can." She stated this confidently, completely ignoring Ava’s open hostility.
If she wanted to earn Leyvi’s affection, she knew she had to treat the people important to him well. She needed to assimilate into his world.
Ava simply ignored her. She looked up toward where Leyvi had been, but he was no longer there.
"Where did he go?" she asked.
"Darling is going higher to check out the portals," Rose replied.
"He went higher?" Ava tilted her head back even further, trying to peer into the impenetrable darkness above. "Hmm... I can’t see anything. It’s way too dark."
As if responding to her unspoken wish, her vision suddenly began to shift. Within the same absolute darkness, faint outlines of varying thickness started to materialize on every surface, defining shapes and edges with impossible clarity. She could now perceive everything around her in stark, monochromatic detail.
The colossal tree, which she had seen only as a gigantic black wall, transformed into a vast, intricate maze of stairways, pathways, and interconnected spaces, each leading to the buildings nestled within the bark.
What? What’s happening? Why can I suddenly see all of this? Everything is so clear, but in a completely different way.
Ava was deeply shocked.
Acting on instinct, she began moving backward, putting more distance between herself and the colossal trunk to gain a better viewing angle.
As she stepped back, the ancient palaces hidden within the tree’s cavities began to reveal themselves more fully. Though her vision lacked color, she could perceive the staggering majesty of their architecture through their sheer design and scale.
Is this what the voice was telling me about? Quantum Eye? What kind of vision is this? Can someone actually inherit a special ability from a Nascent Soul remnant? No, I remember my brother saying clearly that only random information and fragmented memories can be passed on. Even if I somehow got lucky and received complete information about a powerful method, I would still have to learn and practice it first. I wouldn’t be able to use it right away. Then, where did this power come from?
Ava’s mind was flooded with unanswered questions.
As she moved even farther back, she spotted a tiny speck of light high above. It was incredibly dim, almost completely swallowed by the vast, oppressive darkness. Following the light, she saw a minuscule human figure moving slowly alongside it.
As a body cultivator with enhanced physical senses, her natural eyesight in a straight line could pierce farther than her spiritual sense could currently reach.
It was Leyvi. He was already a full kilometer above them.
But considering the sheer height of the colossal tree, it would still take him a considerable amount of time to reach the top at his current pace.
"How can he not be affected by the restriction at all? So unfair," Ava muttered, pouting slightly. She actually wanted to go up and see the portals for herself.
"Now that I think about it, he does have quite a few strange abilities," she recalled. "I just got so used to them that I stopped thinking they were strange."
She paused, a new suspicion dawning.
Wait... don’t tell me that sex fiend has something to do with this?
It was an undeniable fact that every member of the Leyan Family possessed unique abilities she had never seen elsewhere, or was extraordinarily talented in very specific things. Even his spirit beasts all had special, uncommon powers.
And right before they departed for the Mystic Realm, all the ladies in the mansion had suddenly begun practicing new, unfamiliar abilities. Those abilities had appeared out of nowhere. Not to mention the miraculous Qi phenomenon that many people claimed had originated from their family estate.
Slowly, all the gossip and whispers she had overheard from the other ladies, claiming Leyvi was the source of those miracles, began to feel less like rumors and more like truth.
Is he the one behind all of this? But if it is true, why would he give something to me? I treat him so badly, Ava wondered, a strange, complicated feeling stirring in her chest.
After some time, Leyvi climbed even higher until Ava could no longer make out the faint glow of his light or the distinct outline of his form. He was simply too far away now.
Ava lowered her gaze and began experimenting more deliberately with her new vision. She soon discovered she could activate and deactivate it at will.
She then approached Rose and asked her directly if there were any visible changes to her eyes when she toggled the ability on and off.
Though initially baffled by the strange request, Rose cooperated happily, hoping this might be Ava’s way of opening up and getting better acquainted.
Ava got her answer very quickly. Her eyes showed no outward change at all, meaning she could use this power in secret without anyone knowing. This pleased her greatly, as most ocular techniques produced visible alterations that alerted others to their use.
As she started to appreciate her new eye power more and more, a flicker of worry surfaced. She wondered if this ability to see in absolute darkness might suddenly vanish. If it disappeared, she would genuinely feel its loss.
As a Body Cultivator, her spiritual sense was far inferior to that of a Qi Cultivator. Its range was shorter, and using it was more taxing on her mental stamina, so she rarely relied on it, and certainly not in the heat of battle.
The ability to see clearly in the dark would give her a tremendous advantage in a place like this. And perhaps this eye power would not stop at just night vision.
If it were truly a unique power, like the ones others in the Leyan Family possessed, it would likely grow stronger over time. She might even develop more advanced ocular abilities that could fundamentally improve her entire fighting style. The thought alone made her pulse quicken with excitement.

Meanwhile, some time later, Leyvi finally reached the highest constructed level, a complex of ancient buildings situated roughly five kilometers above the ground. Here, the grand stairways ended. There were no more man-made paths leading higher.
"Looks like I can only climb by hand from here," Leyvi said to himself, a grin spreading across his face. "I’m now Monkey Leyvi! Hahaha!"
With a burst of playful energy, he began leaping and scrambling up the colossal, textured bark of the trunk, scaling it with practiced ease and enjoying the sheer absurdity of the moment.
