Chapter 566: Void Pulse Upgrade

In the Nexus Administrative Planet.

After returning to reality, Nash quickly headed to the branch of the Covenant of Truth.

Arriving at the planet, Nash couldn’t wait to see what changes had been made to the Void Pulse.

"Nash, you’re here! Lord Philo is waiting for you." Aldric eagerly called out.

Although they were both tier 6 scientists, during Philo’s stay, Aldric had learned a great deal about mechanical engineering.

Filled with respect and admiration, he eagerly dragged Nash along toward the site.

Equally buzzing with anticipation, Nash followed without missing a beat.

Arriving at the site, Nash finally saw the current state of the Void Pulse.

If before it had looked like a typical personal battleship, compact, almost unremarkable, now it had grown considerably.

From a few hundred meters, it had expanded to dozens of kilometers.

"Can this ship still run?" Nash muttered in puzzlement.

The reason the Void Pulse was small to begin with was precisely because of how fragile it was.

The larger the size, the larger the vulnerabilities. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Don’t worry, I reinforced the material around it. Unless it’s hit by a large object, it can now breeze through almost anything." Philo’s voice suddenly came from beside him.

"Lord Philo!" Nash quickly greeted.

Although filled with doubts, he still trusted the ability of a tier 9 mechanic.

"Haha, come, follow me. I’ll walk you through all the improvements and additions I made to your personal battleship."

Walking closer, Nash finally noticed the hull of the ship was different from before.

Beside the void membrane, it had spherical shells layered over it.

"Wouldn’t this slow the ship down?" Nash asked.

The reason he liked the Void Pulse was its ability to infinitely accelerate.

With these spherical shells interfering, he wasn’t sure if that was still the case.

"They’re made from the same material as the void membrane. Besides offering outstanding defense, they’re also receptive to void energy."

"What material is that? I’ve never heard of it."

Nash had spent considerable time searching for materials that could increase the Void Pulse’s defense without affecting its speed.

Seeing something like this right in front of him, how could he not be shocked?

"It’s a newly discovered material, synthesized only within the last few thousand years. It’s also far too expensive to be practical, so it hasn’t spread around." Philo explained.

The extraction and synthesis of the Void Shield Tiles were so costly that each tile was worth thousands of tier 8 materials.

And while its receptiveness to void energy was unique, its defense alone wasn’t outstanding enough to surpass top-tier 8 materials.

All in all, outside of a niche use case like this, it had little practical utility.

"I see. This material is really something else." Nash nodded, satisfied.

With a defense like this, the Void Pulse could finally fly freely without worry.

Comparable to a tier 8 battleship’s hull, what was there to fear from a few rocks and debris?

"Let’s go inside. The better parts are in there."

Guiding Nash inside, Philo began walking him through each improvement.

Starting with defense, he moved on to the transmission speed of void energy, which directly increased the Void Pulse’s acceleration.

Although the ship could accelerate infinitely, its slow initial acceleration made it useless in critical moments.

Philo had identified and fixed that exact weakness.

Because of the ship’s small frame, it could now instantly accelerate to the peak speed of most tier 8 battleships with no delay.

That meant the ship could move and accelerate in an instant, like a true tier 8 powerhouse.

Without the lag, it could vanish and reappear like a ghost.

Philo had even made the acceleration multi-directional, allowing it to thrust in any direction on command.

"Thank you for your hard work, Lord Philo." Nash said sincerely.

The defense and acceleration alone had already exceeded his expectations.

"No need. I did this because I want to ensure your safety." Philo patted his shoulder.

No one understood the value of top-tier scientific talent better than him.

Power could be cultivated. But inspiration and genius could only be born.

Even Philo, once hailed as the most talented mechanic of his era, had aspired to go further down the path of science.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have the talent for it.

No matter how much he accumulated, he couldn’t break through to the next level.

Unable to go further, he had settled into the path of mechanics.

"Let’s move on."

Guiding Nash forward, they turned to the ship’s offensive capabilities.

"I’ve upgraded both the main weapon and the secondary weapons. They should now have enough firepower to clear a wave of tier 8 dark beasts without any problem."

"Clear a wave? Are we talking firepower comparable to a full-fledged tier 8 battleship?" Nash asked, visibly shocked.

A full-fledged Tier 8 battleship was tens of thousands of kilometers in size, basically the size of a small planet.

Naturally, its weapons and firepower were also numerous, which could easily handle dark beasts of the same tier.

But the Void Pulse was only a few tens of kilometers.

No matter how powerful the weapons Philo installed, Nash had assumed it could take out four or five tier 8 dark beasts before being surrounded.

"Don’t doubt my words. Unless you’re facing hundreds of tier 8 dark beasts at once, you can clear them with ease."

"How? Do the weapons you reconfigured chain their attacks?"

"Oh? You figured that out so quickly? As expected of you!" Philo laughed.

"Can it really chain?"

"To be precise, the attacks it fires can link between multiple targets, redirecting any excess attack power to the next."

"As for the main weapon, that’s the real killer. As long as it gathers enough energy, it can link hundreds of tier 8 dark beasts and eliminate them all in a single shot." Philo explained confidently.

Like the Void Pulse that could infinitely accelerate, the Sea Void Gun could gather energy without limit.

Given enough charge, it could wipe out thousands of dark beasts in a single blast.

"Hiss— it can chain attacks!"

Previously, no matter how powerful the Sea Void Gun’s output was, it could only kill a single target.

But now, with a chaining function, it could wreak havoc across an entire battlefield.
