Chapter 86: 086 Enemy Attack_1
“Oh, there’s no need for thanks. It was no big deal.”
Heige shook his head and immediately took a sip of the hot milk.
On the other side, Casio felt as if a weight had been lifted from his chest.
Ever since he experienced the eerie feeling of being watched a week ago, he grew more and more concerned about the Sect Destruction War. According to the original trajectory, the Wind Elephant Gate team would board the train to East Sea County on the fifth day after the exchange match, and meet an ambush after their arrival.
In the blurred memories of the original owner, Li Wei, there were only dead bodies struggling desperately on both sides, many people fell, and blood was spilled all over the ground.
In the end, it seemed that only Li Wei had managed to escape.
But now, things had changed a bit. Wind Elephant Gate was not planning to take the train to East Sea County on the fifth day, but on the third. Therefore, subsequent events were bound to change.
Casio felt deeply disturbed by the mysterious surveillance incident. He took an opportunity to subtly express his concerns and suspicions to the elders and the Gate Master, but it didn’t seem to have drawn much attention, only warning everyone to be more cautious.
Casio felt helpless, but he wouldn’t give up. The train journey to East Sea County would take seven to eight days, and Casio had a week to change the attitude of the Wind Elephant Gate’s senior level. Even if they still have to go to the Six County Exchange Competition, they could change their route or travel with more schools.
He didn’t believe he couldn’t change the outcome. After all, hadn’t he made many changes during his first retrospection?
Now as a core disciple, a prodigy who had broken through as a Martial Artist at the age of eighteen, his status and influence in the Wind Elephant Gate had grown significantly. At that time, even if he had to act irrationally, he could force the team to make adjustments.
But before that, Casio had to send his teacher, Lixia, back home. Lixia was already quite weak. He could clearly see the streaks of white hair amongst her black ones. If something unexpected were to happen on the way to the Six County Exchange Competition, it would be a disaster…
Casio dared not imagine such a scenario.
Some people might say that this was only a history that did not exist in the past, a predetermined shadow. The tragedy of the Wind Elephant Gate’s sect extermination had already happened, and Lixia was nothing more than a soul lost in history. Why bother being sentimental?
But humans are such sentimental creatures. Casio was a living person, with feelings, not a cold, violent machine obsessed with power.
This period of retrospection was history for others, but it was a personal experience for him. He could play and joke around with his fellow brothers, feel Lixia’s expectations and care for him, and even enjoy the praises of others under the arena.
It wasn’t a game for Casio. It was his life experience, just a little different.
He couldn’t be as cruel and ruthless at present. He was only in his second retrospection. Maybe in a few years, after he had gone through dozens of retrospections, he would turn into a cold machine, willing to do anything for power.
Pushing aside the strange thoughts in his mind, Casio drained the hot milk in his cup. He pushed open the wooden door and went out to pack his luggage.
An hour later, at the manor gate, several black horse carriages were lined up, and the coachmen wearing raincoats occasionally calmed the horses. The black horse occasionally pawed the ground, steaming breath from its nostrils.
“Don’t bother seeing us off, we will be on our way.”
Gate Master Belon waved to the several school owners who had come to see him off. These were the schools that had recently expressed their intent to cooperate with Wind Elephant Gate. Clearly, Wind Elephant Gate’s dazzling performance at the North Flow Country’s Martial Artists exchange meeting had already borne fruit.
Many originally neutral small and medium-sized schools had been frequently showing goodwill towards Wind Elephant Gate, with quite a few schools even wanting to exchange disciples, or teachers, for mutual learning.
Invisibly, the status of Wind Elephant Gate had been elevated.
Wind Elephant Gate, originally on the same level as Golden Rock Fist and Black Crane Stream, began to get closer to Ringing Water Road. This kind of fame might be something of an illusion to other schools, but not for Wind Elephant Gate. Capable of producing large quantities of Orchid Heart Grass, they were accumulating power. Given some more time, they could make significant progress.
On the open ground, several spacious carriages swayed.
In the carriage on the far right, Casio, four senior brothers and sisters, and their teacher Lixia were squeezed inside.
Actually, they already had it spacious compared to the core disciples on their side, where ten people had to squeeze into one horse carriage.
Two minutes later, everything was ready. The coachman waved the reins vigorously, and the black carriage slowly began to accelerate.
With a splash, it rolled over a murky puddle and gradually moved away.
As the train station was to the west of the city, they needed to cross all of Northern Flow City. Casio saw the street view of North Flow City in the rain, as the small rain trickled down, accompanied and enveloped by the fog. Raindrops seeped through dense clouds, as heavy as molten lead, and splashed onto the grey-white street bricks.
High-rise buildings obscured in the curtain of rain were vaguely visible, and chimneys stood like cannons pointed straight at the sky, mixing smoke and rain fog.
This was a cityscape straight out of the Industrial Revolution.
The carriage wheels kept rolling forward, leaving everything behind.
Finally, at around ten in the morning. The convoy of Wind Elephant Gate arrived at West Suburb Station. As this station was newly constructed, there were no developed streets or communities around.
Only a solitary station stood built, at least a kilometer away from the outskirts of North Flow City.
At the rectangular platform, the delegation from Wind Elephant Gate was holding umbrellas and waiting for the train due in half an hour. In a corner of the platform, two solitary figures were talking.
“Teacher, take your advice and recuperate when you return. Wait for the good news from your disciple about the Eastern Exchange Race…”
Lixia’s pale face lit up with a smile; she seemed to age twenty years in that moment, chattering like a sixty-year-old granny, “Come closer, let me straighten your clothes…”
Casio took two steps forward, he bent down slightly because of his height, so Lixia could reach his collar.
“Keep your head up and your chest out, be spirited, don’t slouch.” Lixia patted Casio’s chest, smoothing out the wrinkles on his clothes.

“Yes.” Casio obediently straightened up.
Lixia tipped on her toes, fixed somewhat disorderly collar of Casio and shoved the silver watch chain that fell out from his chest pocket back in: “Don’t lose this thing…”
“Don’t worry, I won’t lose it.” Casio said affirmatively, silently looking at Lixia’s hair, unawarely turning to a shade of white. “I will definitely achieve a good result on my visit to East Sea County.”
“That would be the best.” Lixia stepped back two steps with a smile and nodded in satisfaction. “Quite handsome.”
“Alright, cough cough…It’s time for me to go to the other platform.”
Lixia coughed twice and was just about to step away.
But Casio’s eyes suddenly widened, an overwhelming sense of danger came from all directions. The killing intent was like a raging fire.
“Boom!” The muffled sound of thunder roared like a cannon, grey rain poured crazily from the sky, the dark sky looked as if it was about to collapse.
He spun around to look at his surroundings.
Black-cloaked figures charged from all sides in the rainstorm, their aura ferocious and terrifying.
The one leading the group suddenly stopped and looked up.
A pair of greedy and evil blood-red eyes shot like cold arrows from the shadow of his cloak, directly imprinted into Casio’s heart.
“Enemy attack!!!”
