I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 21: Enter Tollin city!
Chapter 21 - Enter Tollin city!
They carried the treasure chest to the villagers, who stood in line, waiting for the money. Darius had already announced that everyone would receive a share of the bandit's loot.
Rex opened the chest before everyone, revealing a heap of bronze coins with a few silver ones mixed in.
Rex sat on a chair, a table set up in front of him to distribute the money.
A few villagers objected, saying, "Why should he distribute the money?" But in the end, everyone agreed, and Rex began handing it out to those in line.
Rex set aside 50 silver coins for himself, Arcane, and Darius, then distributed the rest among the villagers.
He considered taking more but decided it was enough, given that each family received only five silver coins–enough for a month's comfortable living—while he had taken 10x that amount.
"Sir Rex, I heard you're leaving soon. I'm heading in the same direction to a nearby town. Do you need a ride?"
As Rex was about to hand the man his share, the villager offered to help with his travel.
"Oh, that would be great. Thank you...
[Name: Risto]
[Strength: Mortal]
...Risto."
"You know my name?" Risto was surprised that Rex knew it. He smiled, gave a small nod, and took his share, saying, "Thank you."
Minutes passed as Rex handed out the last of the money. Later, he returned to Branick's house, ate lunch, and finally prepared to leave the village.
"Darius, ready to leave?"
Darius nodded, and they both left the house, heading toward the village entrance, where Risto was already waiting for them with some supplies to leave the village for good.

Sighing, Rex grumbled, "If I had known things were this expensive here, I would've taken more money."
Now, only 20 silvers remained in his pocket. 30 silvers had vanished just for the trip from where Risto dropped him off to...
"Tollin City," Rex muttered as he and Darius stepped inside the city.
The bustling market buzzed with chatter, vendors calling out eagerly, adding words like "Only" and "Discounted" before their prices.
But when Rex checked his pockets, he couldn't afford anything, not even with the 'discounts,' Determined, he decided,
"We need to earn money, Darius."
They barely had enough to last a day or two in the city.
Additionally, their group was a match Made-In-Heaven.
All three were country bumpkins with no knowledge of city life.
But...
Their journey was just beginning!
With money in mind, they moved. "Let's explore the markets while looking for good jobs," Rex said, excitement flashing in his eyes.
They both started wandering the market, the sizzling smell of meat wafting through their noses as they walked past a food street.
"Young man, please buy these fruits! I'll even give you a discount."
"Hey, handsome! Want to check out these treasures?"
Treasures? Those look like junk to me... wait.
Rex considered using the Eye of Tamer on the items to try his luck but... found nothing.
They saw vendors selling food, beast meat, magic artifacts, clothes, and herbs, but as Rex ventured deeper, he arrived at the bustling beast market.
Merchants shouted and flaunted their so-called 'rare' beasts, the air thick with the scent of fur and the cries of caged creatures.
"Haha, young master, you don't have to worry! This beast carries a small percentage of the mighty dragon's bloodline," a merchant boasted to a naïve-looking man.
Rex's attention shifted toward them, curiosity piqued. He quickly checked the beast's status.

"But I don't have enough money to buy this beast now. Can't you lower the price? 5,000 gold is a lot..." the naïve man said nervously.
Rex watched intently as the merchant tried to scam the poor man, going as far as offering...
"I'm sorry, young sir, but this beast is a rare find," the merchant said, shaking his head.
"We only have one of its kind." He leaned in closer with a smirk.
"But we do offer loans in case you can't afford it. I suggest you take the deal now, or you'll miss your chance to own this exotic beast.
If I were you, I wouldn't think twice and miss this opportunity," the merchant urged, trying to push the man into buying the so-called 'rare' beast.

The man exhaled. "Haah..." seemingly contemplating, needing just a small push.
Sensing this, the merchant skillfully changed his tone. "Young sir, please don't waste our time if you're indecisive.
If you don't want it, we'll sell it to someone else.
What's there to think about? It's just money. Once you become strong, you can easily pay off the loan."
"Hmmm... Alright, I'll ta—"
"Excellent choice, sir!" Before the man could finish, the merchant swiftly pulled out a few papers and placed them in front of him.
Without hesitation, the man signed happily, excitement flickering in his eyes.
Rex walked closer, inspecting the so-called exotic beast while observing the transaction carefully.
The merchant noticed him and flashed a small, practiced smile.
"Young master, you look like a tamer. I have something special just for you," he said with a sly grin.
After finalizing the sale, he handed the young man his beast and then turned his attention to Rex.
"No need, I'm just browsing," Rex replied casually. Then, pointing at a man inspecting a beast, he asked, "By the way, what's his job?"
"Oh, him? He's a beast appraiser. They determine whether a beast has a bloodline or not," the merchant explained before leaning in eagerly.
"Come, sir, let me show you a special and exotic beast—for a very minimal price."
Rex nodded thoughtfully. Beast appraiser? I can use Eye Of Tamer for that, He mused, while Darius whispered in his ear, "I think something is off, Rex. We should just walk away," Darius cautioned.
"Let's just explore. No one is buying anything here," Rex said casually, calming Darius down.
The merchant turned to Darius with a practiced smile. "Young sir, I believe you should have one as well. You wouldn't want to be left behind by your friend, would you?"
"No, I'm fine," Darius replied firmly.
"I have a perfect beast—"
"I'm not looking for any beast at the moment," Darius interrupted with a firm tone.
The merchant's eyes twitched slightly, but he quickly masked his irritation with a polite smile.
Maintaining his gentle smile, the merchant began showcasing his beast collection as Rex casually inquired,
"Can a beast appraiser earn a lot of money?"
"Yes, they earn good money," the merchant replied.
"How about this beast, sir?"

Rex pretended to be a customer, nodding dismissively at the beasts while continuing to ask questions. "Is there some sort of exam to become an appraiser? And is it difficult to become one?" Rex asked.
The merchant paused before continuing. "...No, there's no exam, and becoming a beast appraiser is easy. But earning from it is difficult since no one can accurately determine if a beast truly has a bloodline or not...without extensive knowledge." He said shifting his tone at the last part
Rex furrowed his brows.
"Haha, you don't have to worry about our beasts. They are 100% real, appraised by very famed appraisers with excellent accuracy," the merchant reassured with a grin.
"So, appraisers earn based on their fame and accuracy?" Rex questioned.
"Yes, sir. You truly are smart. Now, how about this beast?"
The merchant gestured toward a frail creature locked in a rusty cage. "Our brave scouts found it in the deepest pits of molten lava," he added dramatically.
Anyone could tell he was lying.
Rex scanned the beast using Eye of Tamer, just as he had with every other creature the merchant had shown him.
His eyes nearly widened in shock—but he quickly controlled his reaction when he saw the results.
