I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 26 - Growing steadily
Chapter 26 - 26 - Growing steadily
Next Day.
Rex woke up early in the morning and found Darius still seated on the floor, diligently absorbing the Mana Crystal, a look of determination and focus etched on his face.
A faint smile crept across Rex's lips as he checked Darius's status, curious to see if he had ranked up.
[Name: Darius]
[Entity: Human]
[Rank: Ascender 1-star]
[Loyalty: 11%]
[Subordinate Ranking: Packtkeeper]
And there it was, Ascender – One Star beside Darius's rank. Rex's smile brightened, though he wasn't the least bit surprised. Darius was older and had likely started cultivating early on. All he needed was a little push, and Rex had given it to him in the form of Mana Crystals.
"Oh, right." Letting him be, Rex shifted his focus. He recalled the wall of text that had flooded his eyes the previous day.
Sitting on the bed, he muttered, "Status."

Rex blinked, momentarily astonished as he processed the wondrous revelations unfolding within his status window.
"So I can tame skills and evolve them now?" he breathed, stupefied by the incredulity. His eyes gleamed, a small smirk tugging at his lips as he whispered, "...Unbelievable."
He was just a... normal human. And now? Now the world was starting to change around him.
This is getting interesting. His smiled calmly.
Additionally, there was Commandment—a new addition to his status. Rex shuddered in exhilaration, his breath hitching at the thought of...
❮ Tamer's Authority ❯
A single divine command. Irrefutable. Absolute. Once tamed, no being could defy... no matter who they were!
As he was marveling, at his new status window, a crooked grin tugging at his lips, a voice called out cutting through his excitement.
"Good morning, Rex. Why are you sitting there grinning like a lunatic?" Darius voiced with excitement.
"Guess what?" He raised his brows, clearly hoping to catch Rex off guard.
But alas, Rex was petty.
"You ranked up," he said flatly.
Darius's dazzling smile faltered. "How did you—? ...Haah, you really are something, Rex." He sighed, but the spark quickly returned to his voice as he stated...
"It's my first step into this amazing world," and stepped forward as his eyes gleamed with purpose.
Then, as if remembering something, his expression shifted—eyes locking onto Rex.
"Thank you for the Mana Crystals, Rex," Darius thanked, his voice carrying genuine gratitude.
Rex waved his hand dismissively, smiling back. "We're brothers now, so you don't—"
"Yeah, yeah. Let's freshen up and head to the market. We've got a stall to open, remember?" Darius cut in with a knowing smirk.
Rex sighed, shaking his head with a dejected smile. "Can't even finish one heartfelt sentence around here..." as he stood up to leave.
**
Rex and Darius opened up their appraisal stall just like yesterday, the morning sun shining bright overhead.
The market bustled with life—the usual clatter of footsteps and cheerful chatter filling the air.
Amid the noise, the shopkeeper beside them leaned over and muttered,
"Rex, was it? You got famous in just a single day. That's an achievement, I tell ya..." He shook his head. "But sadly... for all the wrong reasons."
He sighed, clearly hearing the rumors swirling around Rex and his stall. He looked like he wanted to say more, maybe offer some advice, but held his tongue and turned away instead.
Darius exhaled softly beside him. "One problem after another." and shook his head.
Rex sank into deep thought, after piecing things together. it clicked. Bloodline Traders?
Andrew, the man with the Mudveil Tortoise, had mentioned buying the beast from that organization.
Yesterday, when Rex appraised the tortoise and revealed it had no bloodline, they took offense and started targeting while spreading unpleasant rumors about his stall—and surprisingly in just a single night, the rumours spread like wildfire.
Should I strike first before they do? ...No. Let's not be hasty. I'll think it over tonight, Rex mused, with careful consideration.
Rex and Darius waited, but not a single customer came.

Unlike yesterday, when curious eyes had at least lingered on their stall, today brought only scorn. Whispers turned into sneers, and passing glances twisted into ridicule.
A few hours passed by just like that.
And then...
"Are you the 'rumored fake appraiser'?" a frail middle-aged man asked, eyeing Rex closely.
"Please leave if you're not here for an appraisal," Rex said flatly, not even bothering to acknowledge the question.
"You really are him," the man said instead, a relieved smile forming on his face. "I thought you would close down your stall after all those nasty rumors." There was a touch of worn-out melancholy in his tone—subtle, but there.
"People talk. what's that got to do with me?" Rex shrugged as if it was obvious.
"I see." The man nodded slowly.
"Anyway... can you appraise this beast, sir...?" the man asked, then hesitated, clearly waiting for a name.
Rex caught on and offered a small smile. "Rex. Rex Tameroth." He gestured to the scrap of parchment beside him that listed his fees.
"Ahh, here you go, Rex." The man handed him 2 gold coins instead of his usual 20 silvers fees.
"It's just 20—" Rex began.
"I know," the man cut in gently. "This is what I personally want to give."
Rex narrowed his eyes, inspecting the coins to make sure they were real. Once satisfied, he smirked. "Alright... but I'm not giving it back later."
Then, his gaze sharpened. "If you don't mind me asking—what brought you to me? Even after hearing all those rumors?" His voice was calm, but there was a hint of suspicion beneath it.
Two gold coins instead of twenty silvers. Coming here despite the bad rumours. Something didn't sit right with Rex.
After all, Rex was a cautious man.
"Haah..." The man sighed, his voice low.
"It all started with a rumor. A false one. I was doing well—had plans to move to Elarion, a city full of opportunities."
His jaw clenched as his eyes darkened.
"But good money draws greedy eyes." He rasped
"I wasn't strong enough to protect what I had. They spread lies. Harassed me. Drove my name into the dirt."
A bitter chuckle escaped his lips. "Now I'm nearly homeless."
He gestured to the beast.
"This is all I've got. I was going to sell it today, for anything I could get. Then I heard the same rumors... about you."
He looked at Rex with tired but determined eyes.
"So here I am... trying my luck with a kid, who claims, he can appraise beasts with 100% accuracy."
As the man rambled, A panel fluttered before Rex's eyes.
