I Cast Forbidden Spells Until the World Breaks-Chapter 75: What did you say?
"Save him, now!"
Robert’s expression changed instantly. He rushed toward Zayne with three clerics right behind him.
Those clerics had been assigned to stand by at the Secret Realm exit to treat injuries. No one expected they would be needed before anyone even entered.
Only when the oldest cleric turned back and nodded at him did Robert finally relax.
That nod meant Zayne could be healed. His life was not in danger.
If a champion died before the Secret Realm even opened, Robert would be in serious trouble.
With that thought, Robert turned his icy gaze toward Garen.
The sudden turn of events shocked everyone present.
No one expected Garen to actually make a move against Zayne.
Including Garen himself.
At this moment, Garen was completely confused.
Who am I?
Where am I?
What the hell did I just do?
He was absolutely certain of one thing.
He did not attack Zayne.
No matter how stupid he was, he would never be stupid enough to try killing another champion in front of so many witnesses.
If he were convicted of murdering a champion in public, even with the Owens family backing him, he would still be ruined.
He was not that brain dead.
But if that was the case, then how did Zayne end up with that wound?
Unless...
A thought suddenly flashed through Garen’s mind.
Did Zayne do it himself?
Was this a setup to frame him?
The idea sounded insane, but it was the only explanation that made sense.
"You shameless bastard!"
Garen pointed at Zayne and shouted.
Zayne was slowly recovering under the combined healing of the three clerics. When he heard Garen’s accusation, his eyes instantly reddened.
He tugged lightly at Robert’s pant leg and said in a trembling, aggrieved voice,
"Forget it. I’m just from a small town. I can’t compare to someone like Garen from a big family. I didn’t die anyway, so let’s just let this go."
Robert’s heart clenched.
Looking at Zayne’s sincere, pitiful expression, something soft deep inside him was touched.
He had been hesitating about how to handle Garen.
Strictly speaking, attacking another champion before entering the Secret Realm was grounds for disqualification.
But Garen stood behind the Owens family. Canceling his qualification would bring Robert plenty of trouble as well. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Now, seeing Zayne like this, Robert made up his mind.
Even if he could not disqualify Garen outright, he would not let him walk away unscathed.
Seeing Zayne act like this made Garen completely lose it.
"Fuck you! You dirty, scheming bastard. You’re still pretending?"
"You want to die so badly? Fine. I’ll grant your wish!"
Garen fully activated his Angelic Paladin class. Brilliant golden light erupted around him.
"Enough!"
Robert roared.
His voice exploded like thunder in everyone’s ears. The pressure was overwhelming, like a fierce beast suddenly awakening.
Garen’s face went pale.
"Robert, listen to me. It’s not what you think. This despicable—"
Before he could finish, Robert cut him off.
"Garen, I said enough. This is not the Owens family’s backyard."
"You don’t get to run wild here."
Robert’s eyes were cold as steel.
"What actually happened is crystal clear to everyone here. Are you still trying to argue?"
Garen had been right up against Zayne. The next second, Zayne’s abdomen had been ripped open, blood pouring out.
What more explanation was needed?
"Really, it’s not like that!" Garen tried to explain again.
This time, Zayne interrupted him.
Thanks to the clerics’ full effort, Zayne’s wound had already closed. His face was still pale from blood loss.
"Please don’t make things hard for him. Otherwise, he’ll retaliate against me."
"I cut myself open. It had nothing to do with him. Please don’t punish him."
Zayne spoke with visible fear.
Robert felt even worse for him.
Compared to Garen, who refused to take responsibility, Zayne, who came from a tiny backwater town, earned Robert’s respect far more.
"Zayne, the truth must be acknowledged for what it is."
Robert made his stance clear, then fixed his sharp gaze on Garen.
"Garen. Apologize to Zayne."
"Damn it!"
Garen felt so wronged he was about to vomit blood.
Zayne had clearly disemboweled himself to frame him, yet not a single person believed him.
"Leah, you believe me, right? I didn’t do anything!"
Garen desperately turned to Leah.
"Garen... maybe you should just apologize."
"Let’s make a big issue small, and a small issue disappear," Leah said softly.
Garen clutched his chest. His vision darkened.
He had been pampered his entire life. When had he ever been wronged like this?
The worst part was that no one believed him.
"Garen, I’m giving you one last chance."
"Apologize."
"Otherwise, I will cancel your qualification to enter the Champion Secret Realm."
Robert’s voice was cold and final.
At this point, Robert was truly angry.
He had already given Garen plenty of chances in front of so many people.
If Garen insisted on going all the way, then disqualifying him would be fully justified, even to the Owens family.
Garen clenched his fists. His entire body trembled with resentment.
But when he thought about losing access to the Secret Realm, he finally cracked.
Grinding his teeth, he forced out three words.
"I’m sorry."
His voice was barely audible.
Zayne looked confused.
"What did you say?"
"You bastard!"
Garen exploded again and nearly lunged forward.
But when he met Robert’s icy stare, he forced himself to stop.
Apologizing was like sex.
The first time was unbearable. After enough times, you stopped caring.
Garen took a deep breath, shut his eyes, and shouted,
"Zayne, I, Garen, apologize to you. I’m sorry!"
Robert’s expression finally eased a little.
"Since you’re willing to apologize, we’ll let this matter end here."
"But you will be the last to enter the Secret Realm. That is your punishment."
Garen’s vision went black again.
With his strength, he could have been the first one inside, seizing every advantage.
Now, because of Zayne, he had gone from first to last.
He shot Zayne a venomous look, full of hatred.
He swore that once inside the Secret Realm, if he did not make Zayne wish he were dead, then his name was not Garen.
Zayne noticed Garen looking at him.
From an angle no one else could see, he pulled a face at Garen and casually raised a middle finger.
Garen had already been suppressing his rage.
Seeing Zayne still daring to provoke him, he completely snapped.
His eyes turned red as he charged forward, screaming,
"Fuck you!"
