I Don't Agree to the Terms-Chapter 1118 - 588: The Great Eruption of World-Shaking Wisdom
"How about a frontal assault?" Philas suggested with a sullen expression. After learning the truth about the Destructive Frost, she was at a loss, unable to comprehend how dire the situation had become.
Initially, they thought the cold was their greatest enemy, not realizing that this cold would claim all their lives.
"We can't overpower them. The wizards in the Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy are not like the useless Bilic and Nai Ke." Ruben shook his head, recalling the five wizards he had seen upon leaving. Their restrained but burgeoning magic power was more formidable than his own; at least in terms of magic power, they were superior to him.
"You are the ruler of all nobles, the controller of the church. How dare they defy your will? No matter how strong, they are just commoners, they should be our servants!" snapped a member of the Blood Orchid Flying Snake family nearby, his tone abrasive.
Lately, they've had to do their own laundry, cook their own meals, and clean their rooms, lacking any semblance of noble dignity. They originally thought that upon the arrival of the so-called Jade Tree, they would have servants, but unexpectedly, it went to some academy, living better than them, which was intolerable.
Ruben glanced at the speaker, one of his uncles, whose greed and short-sightedness were his defining traits. His survival hinged entirely on his loyalty, a trait valued even by Ruben's father. Despite his many errors, he continuously supported Ruben and his father, maintaining everything for their family.
It was just unfortunate he seemed out of touch with the times.
"Calm down, Sifko," Philas scolded, and Sifko quickly quieted but remained disgruntled.
"Then what should we do? We can't stay like this, the cold is relentless. If we don't quickly move into a warm academy, we'll freeze to death," Philas said, worried.
Upon learning that the temperature in Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy was warmer than a regular winter, she was naturally tempted.
"We could incite a rebellion..." Another member began but was cut off.
"Do you know why Bilic and Nai Ke left?" Ruben asked, glaring at the interrupter before continuing, "Among their cohort of apprentices, there was a bunch of fools wanting to welcome nobles into the academy. They were tortured before they died. The two survived because they wisely stayed neutral."
"Furthermore, who are you planning to instigate against?"
"The five wizard apprentices? Or those non-human higher-ups?"
Ruben sometimes felt that this bunch of family members were utterly useless apart from their loyalty, stupid to the point of leaving him at a loss.
At least think before speaking; they were not dealing with typical nobles. Rebellion against nobles requires sufficient benefits, but against these non-human entities, even if they packed up the entire castle, it might not be enough for them.
"Green Sorrow, isn't Green Sorrow a security guard at the academy?"
"If we could incite Green Sorrow, get him to find a way to open the barrier, then you and Green Sorrow together could completely flatten that academy," Philas suddenly suggested.
They hadn't visited Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy, nor did they understand the reality nor witness its might; hence in their minds, how powerful could it really be? Surely not greater than Ruben.
But Ruben knew even his so-called King of Kings lineage was something they manufactured; what grounds did he have to resist them?
Ruben remained silent, merely observing his family members quietly.
This rendered the atmosphere silent as well.
To outsiders, the Blood Orchid Flying Snake family members might appear ruthless, brainless, and so forth, but they held great respect for Ruben as their Family Head, thus dared not speak without his authorization.
"I'll find a way to handle this." Eventually, Ruben refrained from rebuking their ignorance because he knew it was just a lack of awareness, not true stupidity.
The attendees understood Ruben's implication of dismissal.
Thus, they left one by one.
However, Philas stayed, waiting until everyone had left before asking, "We don't have a chance, do we?"
"There's still a chance. We can't get into Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy, but we can try to acquire some witchcraft tools from them to ward off the cold," Ruben said, although he had no confidence whatsoever.
This kind of thing would surely involve secrets of Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy, and it wouldn't be simple to obtain.
The main issue was finding something to compel them to follow his orders, otherwise it wouldn't be so troublesome; he could just resort to threats.
He had even considered kidnapping that deer referred to as Dumbledore to use as leverage.
Such acts were common for nobles, although in the past, nobles didn't personally get involved but had their subordinates do the dirty work, with most of the obtained value handed over to the noble.
"As long as there's a chance, as long as there's a chance," Philas repeated twice, as if trying to bolster her own confidence.
"Don't worry, as long as I'm here, there's nothing to worry about," Ruben reassured, recognizing Philas's unease while pondering inwardly.
