Chapter 27

Actually, it was not difficult at all to arrange for Hu Linyu to become the secretary. A class always had a class president and secretary. Although Hu Linyu lost to Chen Hansheng during the vote, it was undeniable that she still had quite a good following from the students.

Thus, if Chen Hansheng proposed to Guo Zhongyun to let Hu Linyu be the secretary, Professor Guo would definitely agree. There wasn’t even a need to hold a class meeting to vote.

Just as the duo was finalizing the deal, Shen Youchu didn’t want Chen Hansheng feeding her anymore. Thus, she ‘obediently’ ate a few prawns, then put her chopsticks down uneasily. “I’m… I’m full.”

Chen Hansheng nodded. He just wanted her to better nourish her body. For now, he could only start with fish and prawns. Other meat was too oily, and Shen Youchu’s stomach might not be able to handle it.

Hu Linyu had initially been prepared to take full advantage of Chen Hansheng’s treat to dinner. But now that they had talked business, she unexpectedly lost her appetite. In the end, she still could not resist the temptation of going after her civil servant career. But she seriously warned him, “Chen Hansheng, you’d better not be lying to me.”

“How is that possible? I have always been sincere to you,” said Chen Hansheng with a smile.

Hu Linyu did not want to continue being in the same space with such a shameless hooligan. She pulled Shen Youchu up and quickly left, leaving behind a sumptuous table of food.

If Hu Linyu adopted a bit of the so-called ‘hooligan’ spirit, she would always be able to place herself in advantageous positions.

Chen Hansheng was in a good mood tonight. He bought another two bottles of beer and leisurely finished all the meat on the table. It was already eight o’clock at night by the time he walked out of the cafeteria.

The summer night on campus was still very lively. Many senior female students were walking around campus in hot pants. When he walked past the artificial lake on campus, he noticed a few pairs of shadowy figures in the bushes. He suddenly had an urge to tease them as he spat out his toothpick and shouted, “The inspection teacher is here. Run quickly.”

Chen Hansheng laughed as he watched a few couples of disheveled figures scurry off before he continued his stroll under the gentle moonlight.

When he got back to the dorm, Chen Hansheng found a gathering of boys and a few people were arguing.

Guo Shaoqiang and Zhu Chenglong were at the center of the fight. When Guo Shaoqiang saw Chen Hansheng return, the former quickly pulled the latter over and said, “Hansheng, please be the judge. That fool Zhu Chenglong insisted that Bai Yongshan’s score is higher than Shang Yanyan’s, but I think Shang Yanyan still won by 0.73 points based on her figure, temperament, and appearance.”

Zhu Chenglong did not give in either as he said, “Shang Yanyan is indeed beautiful, but Bai Yongshan is the definition of cuteness. How could her score be lower than Shang Yanyan’s?!”

“My foot! My scoring system is based on scientific evidence. It can’t be changed just because you want it to.”

“F*ck off! What scientific evidence? It’s just something you made up.”

The two quarreled until their faces turned red and each side had its supporters. In the end, they still insisted that Chen Hansheng give a fair judgment.

“Cuteness and beauty are worthless if you consider sexiness.”

And with that, he parted the crowds and went to clean himself up in the bathroom.

When Chen Hansheng came out from the shower, they had already given up arguing about which girl had the highest score. Instead, they gathered to play a serious card game of Tractor.

The next morning was another day of boring military training. This kind of day-to-day life finally ended a week later. The freshman officially graduated from military training after walking twenty kilometers. This also marked the beginning of their real university life.

Chen Hansheng did not go back on his word. As expected, Hu Linyu was given the position of secretary.

Hu Linyu thought that perhaps she should thank him, but she changed her mind and simply took charge of the daily affairs of the class quietly.

The military training period of the universities in Sudong Province was almost similar, and they all gave two days of vacation before the students were expected to start classes.

During this time, everyone would usually look for their former high school classmates to catch up with each other about military training, their roommates, and new life experiences in general.

It was the same for the students from Port City. Wang Zibo, Gao Jialiang, and a few other students from Xianning University City had arranged to meet up at Yiwu Business Center. with Chen Hansheng, Xiao Rongyu, and the others.

Wang Zibo was very happy to see his good friend and ignored Chen Hansheng’s disgusted expression as he forced a hug upon the latter. He was even happier that everyone had turned a little tanner after the military training. Even Xiao Rongyu’s skin had a slight wheat-colored glow.

However, Wang Zibo’s mood suddenly became very low. Chen Hansheng noticed and asked, “Why are you crying?”

Wang Zibo took a while to compose himself before saying, “Hansheng, did you know that there are sixty-two students in our class, and only two of them are girls? It’s as if I have joined a temple instead of a university. If I had known earlier, I would have enrolled myself in your school.”

“How is the quality of those two girls?” asked Chen Hansheng.

Wang Zibo thought for a moment, then looked at Chen Hansheng with a conflicted expression.

Chen Hansheng instantly understood and patted his shoulder to show his sympathy.

Gao Jialiang, on the other hand, had never forgotten to act in front of Xiao Rongyu. Now that he found an opportunity, he pretended to be a saint and said, “Zibo, don’t say that. We entered university to study. We shouldn’t think about these things.”

Well, it was easy for Gao Jialang to say. His School of Aeronautics and Astronautics had a flight attendant major. And the girls were all very beautiful.

But Wang Zibo did not want to argue with Gao Jialang. The latter was being unnecessarily enthusiastic in front of Xiao Rongyu.

Gao Jialang even criticized Hansheng. “Chen Hansheng, can you sit properly and not raise your feet like this? Have some respect for Xiao Rongyu.”

Chen Hansheng usually sat as comfortably as he liked, habitually placing his feet on the stone, but he didn’t expect to give Gao Jialiang something to talk about.

Xiao Rongyu had been considering whether she should temporarily try to accept Chen Hansheng, so she didn’t think it was a big deal.

She didn’t expect Chen Hansheng to not only not put his feet down, but also take off his shoes and further provoke Gao Jialang by stretching out his toes.

Wang Zibo was secretly pleased when he saw this. When would he be able to do things as carefreely as Chen Hansheng?

‘He’s really a hooligan.’

Gao Jialiang had no choice but to criticize him in his thoughts.

Xiao Rongyu wanted to laugh but felt that it was inappropriate. Instead, she tried to smooth things over and said, “It’s not easy for us to meet up. Why don’t we talk about our experiences at our respective schools?”

Gao Jialiang’s eyes lit up. Chen Hansheng’s personality was definitely not one that would be liked by his classmates. What could he gain? He quickly suggested, “Well, since we have just walked over to the School of Finance and Economics, we might as well let its student speak first. Hansheng, do indulge us.”

Chen Hansheng was lighting a cigarette. When he heard this, he leisurely blew out a smoke ring.

“I’m now the class president.”
