Chapter 88: Side Story 13 Junior X Demon
The basement of the library was cold, damp, and smelled of mildew. Junior hated coming down here, but the head librarian had insisted. "There’s an old manuscript that needs cataloging," she’d said, shoving a dusty crate into his arms without ceremony. Junior sighed, adjusting his grip on it as he descended the creaky wooden stairs. The dim overhead light flickered, casting eerie shadows on the stone walls.
He set the crate down on a rickety table, wiping the dust off with the sleeve of his sweater. The books inside were ancient, their spines cracked and faded. Most were unremarkable—old textbooks, ledgers, and the like—but one stood out. It was bound in deep, cracked leather, the cover embossed with intricate, swirling symbols that seemed to shift under his gaze. There was no title, no author’s name, just a strange energy that made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.
Junior hesitated, his fingers hovering over the book. "This is probably some stupid prank," he muttered to himself, trying to shake the unease creeping up his spine. But curiosity got the better of him. He opened the book, the pages releasing a puff of stale air that smelled faintly of sulfur.
The moment the book opened, the room seemed to grow colder. Junior’s breath came out in a visible cloud, and the flickering light overhead went out entirely, plunging the basement into darkness. He fumbled for his phone, turning on the flashlight, and that’s when he saw it—a faint, glowing mist rising from the pages, swirling and coalescing into a figure.
He stumbled back, knocking over a stack of books, but the figure only grew more solid. It was a woman—or at least, it looked like one. She was tall and slender, her skin a deep, rich shade of amber that seemed to shimmer in the dim light. Her eyes were pools of molten gold, and her hair cascaded down her back in waves of fire. She was dressed in what could only be described as a living shadow—a gown that clung to her curves and shifted with every movement, revealing and concealing her in equal measure.
Malphas tilted her head, her full lips curling into a smile that was equal parts seductive and predatory. "Well, well," she purred, her voice like velvet. "I wasn’t expecting such a handsome summoner. What’s your name, sweet thing?"
Junior’s heart was pounding in his chest. "J-Junior," he stammered, taking another step back. "What... what are you?"
Her laugh was low and throaty, sending a shiver down his spine. "I’m Malphas, darling. A demon of pleasure and desire. And you, my dear Junior, have just released me from my prison." She stepped closer, her movements sinuous and hypnotic. "That means I owe you a debt. And I always pay my debts."
"I-I didn’t mean to—" Junior started, but Malphas cut him off with a wave of her hand.
"Intentions don’t matter, darling. Only actions. And you’ve just given me the sweetest gift of all: freedom." She closed the distance between them, her fingers trailing along his jaw. Her touch was electric, sending jolts of arousal through his body that he couldn’t control. "So, let me make you an offer. For every fantasy you’ve ever had, every desire you’ve buried deep inside, I’ll make them real. I’ll give you pleasures beyond your wildest dreams."
Junior swallowed hard, his mouth suddenly dry. "And in exchange?"
Her smile widened, revealing sharp, pearly teeth. "Your soul, of course. But don’t worry, darling. You’ll be so lost in ecstasy, you won’t even miss it."
His mind screamed at him to say no, to run, to do anything but agree. But his body betrayed him, his pulse quickening as her scent—sweet and smoky—filled his senses. "And if I say no?" he managed to croak out.
Malphas chuckled, her fingers sliding down to rest on his chest. "You won’t. Not once you’ve experienced what I have to offer." She leaned in, her lips brushing against his ear. "Let me show you a taste, Junior. Just a little taste."
Before he could protest, her mouth was on his, hot and demanding. His mind went blank, every thought obliterated by the sheer intensity of the kiss. Her tongue teased his, coaxing a moan from deep in his throat. Her hands roamed his body, igniting every nerve ending with her touch. It was like nothing he’d ever felt before—electric, all-consuming, and utterly addictive.
When she finally pulled away, he was trembling, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "Do you want more?" she whispered, her breath hot against his skin. "Say yes, Junior. Let me show you what it means to truly live."
He should have said no. He should have pushed her away and run for the stairs. But the taste of her lips, the feel of her skin against his, was too much to resist. "Yes," he choked out, his voice barely audible.
Malphas’ eyes gleamed with triumph. "Good boy." She stepped back, her gown dissolving into smoke as she shed it completely. Her body was perfection itself, every curve designed to entice, to enslave. "Kneel," she commanded, her voice soft but firm.
Junior dropped to his knees without hesitation, his hands trembling as they reached for her. But she caught his wrists, holding them in place. "Ah-ah," she chided, her tone playful. "I’ll take the lead, darling. You just relax and enjoy the ride."
She guided his hands behind his back, binding them with a whisper and a flick of her wrist. Junior’s breath hitched as the invisible restraints tightened, holding him in place. Malphas knelt before him, her golden eyes locking onto his. "Now, let’s see how long you can last, sweet thing."
She leaned in, her lips brushing against his neck as she whispered the first of many promises, each one more sinful than the last. And as Junior surrendered to her touch, he knew—this was only the beginning.
