Chapter 32: It’s His, Not Yours

At an inopportune moment, Odelia suddenly came and entered her husband’s office who was receiving a guest who turned out to be her ex-husband. Of course, this made each of them surprised, both Vincent and Odelia.

"Odelia... Is that really you?" asked Vincent happily trying to get close to the woman.

However, Odelia immediately walked over to Sean who held out his hand to her, as if she didn’t want to approach the man who was so excited to meet her.

"What are you doing? It’s me, Vincent. Your husband is here, Odelia. Didn’t you miss me at all?" the man asked again with a pleading and disbelieving look when he saw Odelia actually walk up to Sean and be in his arms.

With a look that seemed to not want to be approached, Odelia turned to her current husband and asked about Vincent’s presence there.

"Why is he here? Did you call him?" she asked.

"No, he came here himself. Said he wanted to take you back with him," Sean replied.

"That’s right, I want you back, love. I’m sorry that I couldn’t stop my mom back then, but I promise that I’ve changed and I’ll be a better husband for you, so..." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

He reached for Odelia’s hand, but Sean brushed it away and told Vincent not to touch his wife.

"I told you, I don’t share my wife. So stop trying to ask for her back, she’ll never be yours again."

"I’m not asking you! I asked Odelia. Love, let’s go home. I’ll send my mother and the others away, I promise I’ll never leave you with them again, please come back..."

She looked at Vincent with a look that felt a little sorry for him, especially since he was the man she had once loved. They had spent so much time together for six years, and it all seemed so meaningless now?

Sean turned to Odelia, watching his wife. Seeing how she would react, whether she would disappoint him by getting back together with Vincent or stay with him.

He himself had deliberately called Odelia to his company so that she could see for herself what she would choose.

Sean or Vincent.

The blond man continued to plead with Odelia to return with him, saying he wanted to raise their child together. From Vincent’s words about the baby in Odelia’s belly, she realized that she shouldn’t choose him again.

She had always been humiliated, called a barren woman, cursed at and even had her pride trampled on by her ex-husband’s mother and sister. Even if they were kicked out later, there was no guarantee it wouldn’t happen again.

"No Vin, I don’t want to get back together with you. Our marriage is over, so let me be with the man who loves me and my baby the most," Odelia replied.

"What do you mean by that? That baby is my baby too, right? He’s mine, right?"

She shook her head. "No, she’s mine and Sean’s. She’s my baby with him, not with you. With you I couldn’t feel what it was like to be a mother. And I don’t think I’ve been the one with the problem."

Vincent’s eyes widened when he heard this, indirectly Odelia was saying that it was not she who was barren but him. Especially when he found out that it wasn’t his baby, but Sean’s. Of course he was very shocked when he heard it.

"So... You mean I..."

"Go get checked out and get treated, Vin. It’s not too late to have a child, but not with me," she replied.

Tears streaming from his eyes, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing right now. He was getting two pieces of bad news at once. Vincent found out that he had been infertile all along and that Odelia would not return to him.

"No... No, please come back Odelia. Please come back to me, I’ll do the treatment for you. Can’t you come back to me? We’re not even officially divorced, I never signed that paper, I..."

"But I have, and I don’t want to fall into the same hole just because of something called love. I can get love from anyone, and I will choose my new love together with Sean and our baby."

"But i love you, Odelia. I still really love you!"

"I loved you, Vin. But not the same as i ever do. My love is not yours anymore."

Odelia answered Vincent’s request with firmness and seriousness because she realized that she had been drowning in the sweetness of Vincent’s love, until she foolishly accepted all the scorn and insults that her husband’s own family gave her.

She turned her face away so as not to look at Vincent who was crying at the moment. "It’s better that we don’t have to meet anymore. Don’t you have Monica now? Just go back to her, I don’t want to have any relationship with you."

Sean grinned, feeling proud of his wife’s answer which was firm with her decision. He knew that Odelia was holding herself back from showing pity for her ex-husband, but she clasped her trembling hands, so that she could be more confident in her decision.

However, Vincent seemed unable to accept the rejection. Not after he had been trying to find Odelia for months, and this was what he got after meeting her. A rejection that he didn’t want to hear.

"You can’t!" he snapped. "I haven’t done anything wrong to you while I’ve been married to you, but why should I be punished with something like this?!" he asked irritably while raising his voice.

It made her gasp in shock, considering that Odelia had never seen Vincent throw a tantrum like that before. He really was frustrated and crazy to be able to have Odelia back. Bringing her into his arms again like before.

Hoping that the ginger-haired woman would accept him, but in fact she chose another man instead of being with him.

Moreover, she was currently pregnant with Sean’s baby, which meant that the woman she loved had been touched by his enemy.

Vincent grabbed Odelia’s wrist suddenly which made her whimper in pain.

"I don’t care what your answer is, Odelia! You have to get back together with me because your status is still my wife, not his!"
