Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Blueprint

After reloading the save point, everything returned to the starting point.

Looking at the four passage entrances that had already been marked, Rogel sighed and dove into the passage where the Mutated Species was located.

The fierce battle started quickly.

With the Wing Shrimp engaging the front, Rogel continuously looked for opportunities to harass and backstab the Mutated Species.

In such an unfair beatdown.

The Wing Shrimp Mutated Species could only fall with hatred.

[Your clone, the Dark Sea Hunter, has killed the Wing Shrimp Mutated Species and gained combat experience.]

[The Dark Sea Hunter’s level has increased.]

[You’ve found Mutated Essence ×1.]

[You’ve found Mutated Tumor ×1.]

[You’ve found Contaminated Shrimp Roe ×1.]

[...]

Looking at these drops, Rogel’s face turned black.

What is this Wing Shrimp Mutated Species, not only difficult to deal with but also ugly, and the things it drops are trash.

The key is that the corpse of this thing can’t be eaten!

This made Rogel feel like he had fought for nothing.

"Wait a minute..."

A spark of inspiration hit Rogel, as he suddenly looked at the Hunger Pouch on the Dark Sea Hunter’s abdomen.

After a series of chewing sounds...

The Hunger Pouch isn’t picky; as long as it’s fresh flesh, it will eat.

After carefully checking the information on the Hunger Pouch and confirming it wasn’t affected by the mutation, Rogel finally felt at ease.

"Well, this sort of counts as making use of waste."

Rogel finally found some use for these mutated creatures.

Then, the Dark Sea Hunter completely defeated the Wing Shrimp clone, gaining a wave of experience and acquiring some drops.

[You’ve found Giant Claw ×1.]

[You’ve found Shrimp Shell Breastplate ×1.]

[You’ve found Delicious Shrimp Roe ×1.]

The Giant Claw is considered a weapon, but really it’s just a big claw you can fit your hand into.

Though it lacks any special effect, it has relatively high attack power, although it can’t compare to the Armor-Piercing Spear.

It seems to perfectly match the features of a Wing Shrimp, as aside from being hard, it doesn’t have any other special traits.

The Shrimp Shell Breastplate is a piece of gear with decent defense, and can be worn by the main body.

It’s just a bit ugly.

As for the Delicious Shrimp Roe, it’s a consumable, which restores satiety while recovering stamina.

Rogel directly tossed it to the Dark Sea Hunter.

Even the Wing Shrimp corpse beneath wasn’t wasted, as the Dark Sea Hunter feasted once again.

Truly, the Wing Shrimp was too pitiful.

Not only disgusted by Rogel before dying, it had to become Rogel’s clone to act as a meat shield when on the verge of death.

Even after death, it couldn’t rest in peace, devoured completely by the Dark Sea Hunter...

Next, he skillfully began a thorough search in the room with the Wing Shrimp Mutated Species.

Unfortunately, this time, even after thoroughly searching, he didn’t find anything.

Empty-handed, Rogel left that passage entrance.

Afterward, only one passage entrance remained.

Rogel quickly swam inside.

By this time, the sky in the real world wasn’t early anymore, and he decided to finish exploring this last entrance before going to bed.

The usual uneventful travel time unfolded.

Yet, Rogel suddenly stopped halfway.

Wait a minute?

Rogel squinted his eyes, controlling the Dark Sea Hunter to approach a protrusion on the rock wall.

This rock wall had some cracks, and appeared different from the surrounding passage, seemingly having been piled up.

Through a crevice, Rogel could see that what’s behind seemed not solid.

A hidden passage?

Spirit invigorated, Rogel.

The Dark Sea Hunter immediately got to work.

With a flurry of noise.

In no time, under the efforts of the Dark Sea Hunter’s demolition, the crevice widened, morphing into a dark hidden passage.

Stepping inside, Rogel found a skeleton without a head.

This skeleton, even dead, still seemed to be clutching some sort of book or journal tightly.

Rogel stepped forward to retrieve it.

[You’ve found equipment blueprint ×1.]

[Raging Torrent Handguard (Blueprint)]

[Type: Special Artifact]

[Usage requirement: Spirit 5, Blacksmith lv3.]

[Explanation: A blueprint stolen by some unfortunate guy who got lost and encountered a powerful monster.]

Equipment blueprint!

It was the first time Rogel encountered this item.

Though unable to use it now, it didn’t stop him from collecting it.

After storing away the Raging Torrent Handguard blueprint, Rogel continued forward joyfully.

He deliberately slowed his pace, observing the surrounding walls, striving not to miss any details.

But obviously, there was only one unlucky guy.

Rogel arrived at yet another closed off cavern.

After a sweeping glance, he didn’t find any boss or minor monsters.

However, at the bottom of the cavern, stood a small cylindrical pillar.

On top seemed to be a stone button.

After a more detailed inspection, Rogel didn’t uncover any clues.

Helpless, he chose to press the button.

Upon activating the button, intense vibrations came from every direction of the cavern.

Several small stones were shaken loose, floating down.

[You’ve triggered a mechanism.]

[A new passage has appeared.]

Turns out it was a mechanism.

Rogel mused, reckoning that the stone wall of passage one should have opened.

Arriving at passage one, Rogel traversed the spiked passage, reaching the original stone wall.

Sure enough, a new path had appeared.

Rogel swam inside.

Soon enough, the end of the passage came into view.

Below the stone wall, a slowly revolving black vortex emerged in Rogel’s sight.

Beside the vortex, was the previously appearing octopus-head statue.

Rogel approached the statue and illuminated it.

[Secret Statue—Whirlpool Passage has been awakened.]

[Now you can transport here using the key.]

Rogel exhaled a breath.

Time to sleep, time to sleep.

...

The sun rose over the sea, a new day began.

[Remember to help take care of the flowers for me.]

Night-watch Lina prepared some breakfast for Rogel, then returned to her room to catch up on sleep.

Rogel scratched his head, starting to handle today’s affairs.

[You watered the crops.]

[Planting Skills experience increased.]

[...]

Following a slew of notifications, the skill level for planting didn’t increase.

This had been within Rogel’s expectations.

He glanced at the planting pot for the Exotic Grape Species.

[You watered the Exotic Grape Species, its favorability towards you has increased.]

[Current favorability: 11.]

Still buried in the soil, ordinary looking, nothing remarkable.

Apparently, even the Exotic Grape Species from Sea Treasure won’t sprout a new shoot on the first day.

[Eeya ee ya!]

While Rogel watered the flowers, a tiny person from the cottage came to his side, chattering tirelessly.

She wore a white dress today, lifting the hem and spinning in front of Rogel, her gaze filled with anticipation.

Her face written with "Quick, praise me!"

[Pretty pretty...]

Rogel nodded, responding perfunctorily.

Seeing Rogel nod, Iya was thrilled, her small wings flapping even faster.

Yet, Rogel, who was watering the flowers, was perplexed.

Huh?

What’s up with these flowers?
