I Have a Sailing Game-Chapter 58: Black Market
After a minor episode along the way.
Rogel and Lina arrived at a clinic in the city center.
This seemed to be a newly opened clinic.
The owner of the clinic was a middle-aged blonde woman who looked slightly aged, with faint wrinkles on her face and an indifferent expression.
Strangely enough, when Rogel’s gaze met hers, the game provided a hint.
[You feel she might not be simple.]
Just such a simple piece of information, based on the perception of Rogel’s game character.
But when Rogel checked her information, he found she was just an ordinary person.
Aside from that, there was no more information.
Rogel frowned and silently noted it down.
Lina began to negotiate with her, wanting to buy some medical tools and herbs.
Sally did not refuse, but she was sparing with words during the conversation.
During the conversation, they learned her name was Sally, and she had just arrived in Nadewilo not long ago.
On the way, an elderly man in tattered clothes led a dirty-faced child into the clinic, looking humble and always hunched over.
He came to have the child treated.
Sally treated the child, while he cautiously asked how much it would cost.
[...two silver coins.]
Sally paused and said.
Upon hearing this, the old man fumbled around on himself and eventually took out a pile of worn-out copper coins and pushed them to Sally.
[...give a little first, just give what you think is right.]
Sally was silent for a moment, then turned around.
[If you have no money, just take the cheap one.]
After saying that, Sally went to get the medicine.
A while later, the old man led the child out of the clinic.
Rogel and Lina also left with two boxes in tow.
[Lady Sally is a kind-hearted doctor.]
On the road, Lina was a bit emotional.
Rogel looked at her with some confusion.
[Lady Sally gave that child medicine worth at least a gold coin.]
Lina explained.
[A woman with a cold exterior but a warm heart.]
Rogel chuckled.
Along the way, the two began to chat idly.
They now needed to find a blacksmith’s shop where raw materials were cheaper and place an order.
After asking several passersby on the road, Rogel and Lina headed toward their destination.
While passing through an alley, a sudden change transpired.
[It’s them!]
As a voice rang out, a group of ragged, greedy-looking thugs blocked their way with various weapons in hand.
[Kid, I advise you to hand over the money obediently, we only seek wealth, not harm.]
[If you’re not sensible... heh heh.]
[Boss, that woman’s pretty! We should also... rob some beauty!]
Several thugs began to shout.
Rogel sighed and didn’t care what they said at all.
After handing the box to Lina, he walked straight toward the thugs.
Seeing Rogel advancing instead of retreating, several thugs frowned and laughed disdainfully.
[Thinking of resisting? Seems you must try out how hard my big stick is!]
The leading thug glared at Rogel and shouted loudly.
A moment later...
Clang clang...
The wooden stick, broken into two pieces, fell to the ground with a crisp sound.
Several thugs lay scattered on the ground, moaning incessantly.
Rogel squatted down, grabbed one thug’s hair, and forcibly lifted his head.
[Did you just say you wanted to rob beauty?]
Upon hearing this, the thug turned pale and stammered to plead for mercy.
[No no, no, sir, I... oof!]
Before he finished his sentence, Rogel kicked him hard in his weak spot.
The thug’s face instantly turned greenish-purple, groaning non-stop, his body curled up like a shrimp, presumably leaving him with no tools for beauty-robbing from now on.
Then Rogel grabbed another thug’s hair.
[Sir! I never said to rob beauty! I didn’t say anything!]
The thug tearfully pleaded.
[Shut up.]
As soon as he spoke, the thug immediately stopped crying out in pain, only daring to sob quietly.
[Where in Nadewilo are there cheaper raw materials for weapons and equipment?]
Rogel inquired.
Upon hearing this, the thug nodded fiercely.
[There is, there is!]
[The underground black market will definitely have what you want, sir!]
[Lead the way.]
Rogel lifted him with one hand and then went back to take a box from Lina.
[Lead the way.]
Lina imitated Rogel’s earlier tone, lowering her voice.
[Oh my, captain, you were so impressive just now~]
Lina blinked her beautiful eyes, half complimenting and half teasing.
[...]
The poise Rogel had just established was thus lost.
[Ha...]
At this point, the thug leading the way couldn’t help but chuckle.
But then he felt a cold gaze fall on him.
His newly grinning teeth immediately retracted, and his head hung lower.
...
Underground black market.
Rather than called an underground black market, it might be more accurately described as an underground black room.
Because this black market was located in a vast, concealed underground chamber, dimly lit, relying on wall-mounted torch lighting.
The thug leading the way grinned and joked with the gatekeeper before leading the two into the black market.
Most of the sellers on the ground were people wearing oversized clothes to cover their appearances.
Rogel and Lina also went along, dressed in black robes with hoods on.
Upon seeing some unfinished iron cages, Rogel realized that this place should originally have been a large prison. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Looking at the items laid out by these vendors, Rogel suddenly realized something.
Oh dear, I’m so familiar with this plot!
If I use the system to check these items, wouldn’t I be picking up bargains like crazy?
Thinking this, Rogel was no longer in a hurry to buy raw materials. He enthusiastically began to pause before these vendors to check their goods.
[Iron Ore painted in golden yellow paint]
[Type: Material]
[Quality: White]
[Quantity: 1]
[Explanation: Golden glittering looks so nice, oh my god, buy it!]
[Watered-down wine]
[Type: Food]
[Quality: Gray]
[Quantity: 1]
[Explanation: The vendor actually added some wine to the water, quite a kind person.]
[...]
Sometimes Rogel really wanted to give this explanation a punch.
If it’s trash, just say it’s trash, why beat around the bush?
Rogel spent a long time and found that the only high-quality item among the vendors was the black hearts of the vendors themselves.
[Lodi Short Sword]
[Type: Collection]
[Quality: Blue]
[Explanation: A wooden short sword with a pretty decent appearance, perhaps you could use it to poke wooden men.]
Seeing the only dagger collection without a trick, the vendor, however, opened their mouth wide and asked for ten gold coins.
Great, the vendor is a high-IQ robber.
After wandering around, Rogel discovered he hadn’t picked up any bargains at all.
With no other option, he returned to his original goal of purchasing casting raw materials.
This was somewhat easier.
Rogel easily found them.
One vendor sold them at a very low price, more than half cheaper than in the weapon shop.
However, Rogel believed that even if the iron ore was a copper coin a piece, he would still make a profit.
After all, the vendor was making a no-cost trade.
Rogel spent five gold coins to buy some ores, leather, lines, and other materials.
Among them, a special ore was quietly added to his stash.
[Secret Iron Ore]
[Type: Material]
[Quality: Purple]
[Quantity: 1]
[Explanation: A special iron ore formed by being tainted with unknown power, using this material to successfully forge weapons or equipment, there’s a chance to gain a special effect.]
