I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!-Chapter 41 Routine
"Hmmm... I suppose I should find more students to teach. It’s good to have boys this time around... so far, my class only has three girls." Lin Feng muttered to himself, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he planned the rest of his day.
A balanced class was important, not only for training purposes but also for maintaining harmony among his students.
Too many of one gender often led to unnecessary complications, and Lin Feng preferred things simple at least on the surface.
His class was, of course, far from simple now with two beautiful adult women among his students.
With that settled, he left the academy and headed into the city to find something to eat.
This time, he did not go to the Golden Cicada Kitchen, choosing instead a different restaurant tucked away on a quieter street.
The establishment was smaller but refined, and the aroma of freshly cooked dishes filled the air the moment he stepped inside.
He ordered generously and enjoyed every bite.
Though the food was a bit expensive, Lin Feng ate to his heart’s content, utterly unconcerned with the cost.
After all, with practically infinite wealth at his disposal, spending a little more was nothing but loose change to him.
By the time he finished his meal, the clock was already nearing two o’clock.
Lin Feng leisurely made his way back to the academy grounds, his mood relaxed and his mind clear.
His purpose was simple... find good seeds... students with talent, potential, or at least the right mindset to nurture and shape into future powerhouses.
However, contrary to his initial expectations, what he encountered were not promising seeds... but challenging ones instead.
Some students were overly arrogant, others stubbornly refused guidance, and a few radiated an aura of trouble the moment he laid eyes on them.
Instead of fertile soil waiting to be cultivated, he had stumbled upon thorny ground filled with weeds and stones.
Still, Lin Feng merely smiled faintly. After all, difficult seeds were not without their charm.
If he could tame them, the results might be even more satisfying than cultivating ordinary top tier talent.
He approached a pair of children, who were clearly having the time of their lives at the expense of one of their peers.
Their laughter rang loudly across the courtyard, sharp and cruel, drawing a few glances from others but no one stepped in.
"Hahaha! You’re so ugly that even a dumb frog would be ashamed to admit you’re its child!"
"Yeah! Go back to your mama and cry, you ugly little monster-face. Oh wait... your mom probably doesn’t even want you!" Two boys, both around ten years old, pointed and laughed as they hurled their insults without restraint at one of their classmates.
The three were classmates under the same teacher, and the victim had long been their favorite target.
His appearance was not conventionally pleasing... his features slightly uneven, his face lacking the symmetry and harmony others seemed to possess.
To cruel children, that was more than enough reason to turn him into a living joke.
Every day, he endured whispers, stares, and snickers, and today was no different.
"Take that back! That’s a lie! My mom loves me the most!" the boy shouted back, his voice trembling with a mixture of anger and desperation.
Despite his attempt to sound strong, tears were already sliding down his innocent cheeks, blurring his vision as his small hands clenched into fists at his sides.
Around them, a few teachers were present, standing not too far away.
Yet they pretended not to hear the cruel words, their eyes deliberately avoiding the scene.
As long as no one was being hurt physically, they saw no reason to interfere.
To them, this was merely childish teasing... something all children went through and would eventually outgrow.
But for the boy standing there, trembling and humiliated, it did not feel like something small.
It felt like the world itself was laughing at him, and he was all alone in it.
Luckily for him, Lin Feng did not believe in or condone this kind of behavior.
While many adults liked to think that children would naturally grow kinder with age, Lin Feng knew better.
Those who were bullied did not simply "get over it."
The pain, humiliation, and helplessness carved deep marks into their hearts... marks that could linger long into adulthood, shaping their fears, insecurities, and even their sense of self-worth.
"What’s happening here?" Lin Feng demanded, his voice stern and carrying a weight that cut through the noisy courtyard.
The two boys who had been harassing their classmate flinched and instinctively straightened up.
When they turned and realized it was Lin Feng, however, their initial tension quickly faded. Instead, faint smirks crept onto their faces.
They knew who he was a so-called "trash teacher," someone the other instructors mocked and the students didn’t respect.
In their eyes, he was harmless, someone who couldn’t really punish them even if he wanted to.
They said nothing at first, while the bullied boy stood frozen in place, tears streaming freely down his face.
His fists were clenched so tightly that his knuckles had turned white, yet he lacked the courage to fight back.
All he could do was look at Lin Feng, silently pleading for help.
"Nothing, Teacher Lin Feng," one of the boys finally said with a shrug. "We were just playing around."
"Playing around?" Lin Feng repeated calmly, his gaze sharp as he studied the crying child. "Then why is your friend crying like this?"
As he spoke, Lin Feng stepped closer to the boy and gently placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
The warmth of that simple touch, the first sign of kindness he had received in a long time, caused the boy’s composure to shatter completely.
"Sniff... hic..." The boy’s shoulders shook as he broke down, his sobs growing louder.
Far from calming him, Lin Feng’s gesture only made the emotions he had been holding back spill over.
He wasn’t crying just because of today... he was crying because of every insult, every mocking laugh, every cruel word that had been thrown at him before.
He didn’t want much. He didn’t want revenge. He just wanted the bullying to stop.
He wanted to walk into class without fear.
He wanted to exist without being treated like something disgusting or wrong.
And above all, he wanted someone... just once... to stand on his side.
