I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 18:Repay
THWIP!
An arrow shot towards one of the shadows cutting through the air silently like an assassin’s knife.
Atheline stepped to the side as a knife aimed at his throat slashed through the air nearly nicking his neck.
His robes were unfortunately not lucky. He kicked to the side sending the attacking shadow flinging into the air like a child’s doll.
THWIMP! THWIP! THWIP!
He released rapid arrows towards the respawning shadows hitting some while others expertly evaded his arrows.
"You’re still subconsciously trying to command the wind," Lily’s voice came from behind him," the wind loves you that was why you were chosen...listen to it."
They had been going through this routine over and over again in the past four hours but he always lost against them.
Night had already taken over and the Crystal lanterns were the only thing keeping the training ground lit.
’This is much harder than I thought’
He pulled the string back to his ear and let go of all the tension in his body.
That was when he felt it, the familiar brush and caress of the wind; he didn’t try to command it, despite his body instinctively trying to do so.
He had failed enough times to know when his Aether reacted. His core worked on overdrive as it directed power through the Aether channel to the tips of his hand.
The wind outside gathered around him in response to the released wind merging with his power like an old companion.
THWIP! THWIP! THWIP!
Atheline released the three arrows at once. The arrows moved smoothly, skewering through the shadows one after another even as they moved.
Atheline noticed the difference from the previous training, he had really been forcing his hand on the wind.
"This was much better than I thought," he whispered to himself and lowered the bow.
A hand came and held his shoulder before a body pressed to him.
’Too close’
He didn’t move even though his instincts told him to. He knew she was too dangerous for her own good, but her lessons were the best he had ever had.
’No offence mother.’
"You’ve improved?"
"You’ve been saying that every thirtieth minute."
She chuckled. Her hand moved down to his forearm until it slid into his hand. She tightened her hand preventing any attempt of him from removing his hand from hers.
"How are you going to pay me for the free tutorial?" She whispered to his ear.
Atheline noticed the tall(178cm) and the body pressing against him was that of a warrior. The small callouses on her hands showed her constant use of weapons.
"I don’t remember making any promise."
He tried to step back but she moved with him. Atheline rolled his eyes, she noticed it.
"Tsk! You really expected me to help you for free I’m not that generous, you should thank your face for that," she said, playfully, a small smile gracing her face.
Atheline stared then it came to him that he was staring.
"What’s your rank in the army?" He asked curiously and was also trying to change the subject.
That had been one of the things going through his mind. She always seemed too free even for a warrior.
He had spotted a few other dark elves walking around the capital but had never seen one twice.
"Do you really want to know?"
Atheline nodded.
"I’m the commander."
"What? "
She chuckled.
"I knew you’d be surprised."
Atheline wasn’t surprised, he had expected her rank to be high but not that high.
She was only second to the elf queen in rank. That explains her abnormal strength.
’I wonder how strong the elf queen herself is?’ 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She tagged his arm pulling him out of his thought.
"So let’s forget about that...Are you ready for my request? "
Atheline sighed in defeat and nodded. He knew he couldn’t escape her claws.
"Just don’t tell me to do something out of my capabilities. "
She shook her head.
"I would never, everything I do for you is for your own good."
Atheline frowned a little and chuckled laughing off her sentence.
"What is it then?"
"I want you to come with me somewhere, it’s not far from here..." She seemed to notice his suspicion, "It’s still in the elven kingdom, I’m not stupid enough to kidnap you."
Atheline smiled.
"I wasn’t thinking that far."
She rolled her eyes.
"Sure.... Move closer to me."
’We are already close enough, what more do you need’
A blanket-like darkness shot out from their shadows and enveloped them before Atheline could even respond. He felt as though he had entered into nothingness and the only thing that kept him grounded was her touch.
"We’re here."
Lily said. The darkness resided, and what was left in front of him was a beautiful scene of pure sky filled with stars and a nearly full moon that had a tinge of red.
The night wind carried the scent of jasmine, roses, gardenias, and many other flowers into his nose. The scent was calming.
Even in the night, the moon shone its light on the plain land that was covered with nothing but different kinds of wild flowers.
’I think this romancing might just work one day’
Atheline could already imagine the scene during the day.
"What do you think, i found it when I decided to go for a walk outside the capital. The elven kingdom admittedly is beautiful. "
Atheline nodded a smile.
"Where is this place?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"I don’t know, it’s some hill in....Jihaniah."
Atheline turned to look at her in surprise.
"Thats almost at the borders."
She looked up at him in confusion.
"Yeah, why?"
’Why!..ooh Light she asked why... You freaking teleported halfway across the kingdom’
Atheline stepped back and looked at her, really looked at her.
"How strong are you?" He couldn’t help asking.
"Strong enough to lead and conquer." She answered vaguely.
"If you want to at least associate with me, I would appreciate some form of honesty. You practically know everything about me."
She stared at the moon for a moment and fully turned to him.
"If I tell you the truth you’ll run."
Atheline chuckled to himself.
’Unless you’re the elf queen, I think we’re good’
"I don’t think I’ll run, or even get angry unless it’s something unforgivable that is...Are you going to kill me?" He asked.
She vigorously shook her head.
"No, I would never i would rather kill myself than ever think of killing you," she said firmly then added under her breath,"....unless you decide to leave me."
"What was that? I didn’t get the second part."
She smiled and swung their intertwined hands softly.
"It’s nothing."
"Sure."
Atheline wasn’t one to care about the difference in subspecies, heck, the kingdom was championing it.
"So what did you want to show me?"
