Chapter 43: 43:No reasoning (Slight 18+)

[The mature content is just kissing]

The only sound in the room was the slow, steady breathing of the two. Atheline could feel his heartbeat from the silence as he waited for her answer.

Her hands tightened around him, her nails digging into his skin but not too painful but enough to sting.

"You’re going to marry me," she said softly but she might as well have shouted in his ear

His stomach dropped.

"No."

The words came out immediately almost instinctively before he could even process them.

She tilted her head slightly. He could feel her piercing gaze on his side.

"No?" She echoed softly.

Atheline couldn’t stand talking to her without looking at her face, it felt jarring and he didn’t like how out of control he felt at the moment.

He swung his legs off the bed then stopped.

’She fucking didn’t’

Chains, glowing faintly with magic, are almost invisible except for the small magical pulses.

It was tied around his leg connected to the bed. His breath caught.

"...you didn’t."

She stood up gracefully and looked down at him her face expressionless. Atheline also stood up towering over her.

She tucked her hair behind her ear and looked down at the chain.

"... I did."

His chest rose and fell unevenly.

"This isn’t funny."

"I’m not joking."

Atheline just stared at her not knowing how to react to the madness in front of him.

"You intentionally approached me..," he said slowly.

"Yes."

"You lied about yourself and basically tricked me."

"Yes."

".. you went ahead and knocked me out," he continued slowly.

Her hand touched his chest but Atheline ignored her touch.

"Yes."

"... Dragged me here."

"Yes."

"...And now what..." his voice rose softly disbelief creeping in," you think we’re just going to get married after all that. Do you expect everything to just magically disappear?"

There was a pause as tension filled the air, and Atheline waited for her answer.

"We are.." she calmly answered, her answer filled with certainty.

Atheline staggered a broken laugh filled with disbelief escaped him. He covered his eyes as he laughed at the absurdity he was in.

"Have you lost your mind?" He demanded.

She stepped closer until their body were flush together. Her hand softly rubbed his waist near the waistline of his nightwear. Atheline knew exactly what she was doing.

"No," her unwavering gaze locked onto his," I’ve made a decision."

Atheline laughed a short disbelief laugh. The words she had said to him before knocking him out came to mind.

"Decision?" He repeated and pushed her back from him she willingly stepped back," You don’t just decide something like this, Lily!"

"I do."

He stopped as the realisation came to him. He kept on treating her like the former Lily he had met but in front of him was someone far more dangerous.

"..Why," he asked sofly his voice raw.

Her expression softened just a little.

"Because you’re unstable. "

He stared at her.

"Because others will come for you."

His jaws tightened.

"Because you ran."

’That one again ’

He never ran, he just wanted to sort out his shock. She twisted it into something it wasn’t and she seemed to have only grasped that as the only thing he did.

He never planned on abandoning her, of course, he knew she would come for him in the forest. He cherished his life more than anyone.

Atheline was observant enough to know she had a way of knowing where he was.

A gamble he had taken to get her attention quickly but it seems his calculations went a little out of hand and his core breaking had really amplified everything especially the pain.

’I should have probably just gone home and gotten over the shock’

Her hand came to his cheek. Atheline leaned into the touch before he caught himself and pushed her hand away.

"And because you didn’t choose to leave me."

Silence ensued. Atheline’s breath slowed.

"Thats not how this works, marriage is an agreement between two parties not one."

"Yes," she agreed.

"Then don’t. Let’s forget this for a moment, we can revisit after a while I’m here there...."

’This isn’t child’s play, goddammit’

"No," she cut him off before he could finish convincing her.

He bristled.

"You don’t get to decide my life," he said.

She stepped back a few steps from him a smile on her face.

"You’re right," she paused," I’ll decide our life."

Atheline went still, as though a deep thought passed through his mind.

’I get why she was the villainess. ’

"You never apologised," Atheline said abruptly breaking the silence.

"What?" She asked confused.

Atheline looked up at the ceiling and sat down on the bed in resignation.

’Dear Light, it never crossed her mind’

"I said," he repeated," you never apologised, can you just give me that?"

She walked towards him and stood in front of him. Her hand went into his hair running through the silky locks.

She bent down to him with a smile on her face..

"I apologize," she whispered into his ear.

Atheline exhaled staggeringly.

"Get the chains off," he whispered back.

Their eyes met hers narrowed.

"I can’t go anywhere to begin with. I’m yours, aren’t I?"

She chuckled softly and sat on his lap.

"You’re right."

Atheline felt the small link break.

’Finally ’

His hands wrapped around her waist as she leaned in until their forehead touched.

"Kiss me," she said softly.

Atheline didn’t immediately. His hand massaged her waist slowly as she stared at her.

"I’m still angry," he said softly.

She chuckled her eyes narrowing.

"I know. Now kiss me."

Atheline’s lips did not hesitate as they found their way towards her lips and the distance between them was removed.

She gasped at their contact her hold on his shoulders tightening.

This was his first kiss in this life but somehow it all felt new. His body was automatically following the motions of kissing as though he were an expert and that could only be attributed to his past life.

Her lips were so soft and wet against him as he sucked her bottom lip softly.

She pulled back from him when his tongue tried to pry her mouth open.

"Have you ever done this before?" She asked.

Atheline shook his head," never."

She smiled.

"Good, don’t ever think about doing it with anyone unless you want them dead."

Her beautiful and seductive gaze bore into Atheline’s mind as she waited for his confirmation.

Atheline chuckled," I won’t."

He took her lips again. He licked her lips again asking for entry.

’Sweet’

Her mouth opened, allowing his tongue into hers as they fell into a battle of dominance which Atheline won. She wasn’t that good at kissing and her inexperience showed in their kiss since she was mimicking him.

He glided his tongue along with hers as his hands moved under her nightdress enjoying the feeling of her smooth skin.

"Breath," he whispered against her lips.

A string of saliva was left between them as she took heavy breaths.

"You look ravishing," he whispered while kissing her neck.

She tilted her head to give him more access.

"Really," she pressed herself down on his arousal.

Atheline groaned as pleasure shot through him. He took her lips again and turned around laying her on the bed without breaking contact.

She spread her legs and he settled between them making sure to support his weight.

He placed one hand under her head while the other pushed her dress upwards.

Her hands went around his neck and into his hair as she reciprocated his kiss while he explored every curve in her mouth.

"...Atheline, " his name came out of her lips the moment Atheline departed from their kiss.

Her unstable-looking eyes met Atheline’s composed ones.

"..lily.." he couldn’t help respond as he kissed her forehead.

He kissed her nose, then her eyes cheeks, and moved down to her neck.

He could hear from her pulse how much this was affecting him. He smiled to himself.

He moved back to her swollen lips that he had ravaged with his own.

"How are you so good at this?" She asked him while staring at those crescent purple eyes.

His lips were just as swollen as hers.
