“By the way, Olivia, I won’t be staying at the academy for the next few days. I’ll leave the Student Council matters to you.” As he ate, Orson spoke to Olivia.

“Alright,” Olivia nodded. Although Orson refused to let her get involved in whatever he was handling, at least there was something she could help with.

“But since I’m covering for you, you’ll owe me something in return, won’t you?” Olivia said, placing a finger on her cheek, her gaze at Orson carrying a playful smile.

“Sure, feel free to ask for anything. As long as it’s within my ability, I’ll make it happen.”

“Alright then, it’s a deal.” Olivia smiled.

Good times always seemed to pass quickly. After dinner, Olivia and Lianca didn’t stay long and left shortly afterward.

Meanwhile, Litte had applied for an overnight absence from the academy, as she still had matters to investigate.

That afternoon, she sought out Virgil, who had just finished speaking with Orson. Upon learning that Orson had entrusted the investigation to Litte, Virgil felt concerned but ultimately complied.

From Virgil’s perspective, Litte still lacked the experience and maturity that Orson had. The mastermind behind this incident was clearly not someone Litte could handle alone.

Letting Orson handle the matter seemed like the safest option.

Though Virgil didn’t fully understand Orson’s reasoning, he disclosed all the known information to Litte.

“Young Master Litte, these are the details we uncovered,” Virgil said, raising his head to glance at Litte.

“Got it,” Litte nodded.

Watching Litte seated in what was originally his position, Virgil couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of déjà vu, as if he were seeing Orson.

Perhaps being around Orson for so long had influenced her. Litte now carried a faint trace of Orson’s demeanor, exuding the aura of someone in command.

The two—despite sharing no blood relation—now seemed more like true siblings than ever before.

“By the way, Virgil,” Litte spoke up, addressing him directly.

“Yes, Young Master Litte, what is it?”

“You’re the one who told Orson I’m a girl, aren’t you?”

“Yes,” Virgil admitted without hesitation. “As one of Young Master Orson’s subordinates, I can’t keep secrets from him.”

“You did the right thing.” Litte nodded, showing no intention of blaming Virgil.

Then she added, “But for now, this must remain a secret from others. Understood?”

“Yes, I understand.”

At that moment, the door was knocked a few times. Virgil walked over and opened it.

Standing outside was a security guard, who looked at Virgil and Litte before speaking. “There’s someone at the entrance asking for you two. Says they’ve been sent from above.”

“Understood,” Virgil replied. “Bring them in.”

“Alright.” The security guard left.

Two minutes later, the Doctor appeared at the office door.

There was a faint red stain on the white bowtie of his suit.

“Good evening, both of you,” he greeted, stepping into the office and closing the door behind him. “I was sent by Young Master Orson.”

“Someone sent by Young Master Orson?”

“You could say that.” The Doctor nodded. “You’re investigating the mastermind behind the attempt to capture Young Master Litte’s parents, right? That’s why I’m here.”

“You have information?” Litte’s eyes widened.

“Yes, I might have a bit.” The Doctor glanced at the two of them.

“If I’m not mistaken, you’re Young Master Litte, correct?” He pointed at Litte, seated at the desk.

“Yes.”

“Then you must be Orson’s other subordinate, Virgil?”

“That’s correct.”

“Great! I’ve been wanting to meet you, Mr. Virgil.” The Doctor stepped forward and extended his hand.

“Since we both serve Young Master Orson, I believe we should get acquainted.”

“You can call me the Doctor.”

Virgil extended his hand and shook the Doctor’s.

“So, you’re the Doctor?” Virgil said, a bit surprised.

“Yes, has Young Master Orson mentioned me?” The Doctor smiled.

“He has. When we cornered those mercenaries, we let one escape. Young Master Orson told me you captured him.”

“Yes,” the Doctor confirmed without hesitation. “I caught him.”

“And? Did you get any useful information from him?” Litte, growing impatient, asked.

“Nothing particularly significant,” the Doctor said. “I had lunch with Young Master Orson at a restaurant earlier today, where I shared the intel I gathered. He then sent me to assist you.”

He proceeded to relay all the information he had to Litte and Virgil.

However, he intentionally withheld the details about Orson’s interaction with the Angel of Death. Since Orson hadn’t shared specifics about their conversation, it was clear he wanted to handle that matter himself. The Doctor saw no reason to complicate things by bringing up the Angel.

After finishing, the Doctor casually found a sofa to sit on, propped up his legs, and made himself comfortable, as if the office were his own.

“Alright, now that you have the intel, what’s your plan?” The Doctor glanced at Litte and Virgil, his smile carrying an ambiguous meaning. “Personally, I wouldn’t recommend going after the Angel of Death. As a middleman, you’re unlikely to get anything substantial from him.”

“If you force the matter, you might even end up getting thrown out.”

“...” Litte sat at the desk, deep in thought.

She mentally organized the information she had just received. After a few minutes, she looked up at the Doctor.

“Doctor, since you were sent by Orson, could I trouble you to assist me with something?”

“I was sent here specifically to help you, so there’s no need to call it ‘trouble.’”

The Doctor shrugged.

Seeing his nonchalant demeanor, Litte felt reassured.

“Could I ask about your combat capabilities?” Litte asked.

“Not to brag, but I can handle anyone below Tier 6.”

“Good.” Litte nodded.

She then shared her plan with Virgil and the Doctor.

After hearing her out, Virgil looked shocked.

“Young Master Litte, this is too dangerous. If you put yourself in harm’s way, Young Master Orson will hold me accountable!”

The Doctor, on the other hand, smiled.

“Well, this is certainly an interesting plan.”

“Anyway, my mind is made up. This is the only way to unmask the mastermind.”

“...” Virgil stayed silent for a moment before sighing and nodding. “If that’s what you’ve decided, I won’t stop you.”

“But if something goes wrong, what then?”

“Don’t worry, I have everything under control.” Litte smiled.

“Alright.”

“And Doctor, your role in this plan isn’t a small one.”

“No problem. Leave it to me.” The Doctor laughed. “High risks often come with great rewards, don’t they?”
